vancouver’s cutest (and tastiest) ice cream sandwich spot! 🍪🍨
Innocent Ice Cream Parlour is such a gem — gluten-free, vegan-friendly, and absolutely packed with flavor. I grabbed a cookie sandwich with chocolate mint ice cream and it blew me away.
The cookies are soft, the ice cream is rich, and the vibe is super cozy with its pink-themed decor. Great spot for a late-night treat!
Staff were friendly and helpful, and the fact that it’s allergy-conscious makes it a go-to for everyone.
Highly recommend if you're craving something sweet, stylish, and inclusive.
We are from North Vancouver and every time we go to Kelowna, we make a trip out to Jaide & Joel's Baking Co. Everything they sell is amazing! I am plant based and celiac and this place for me is heaven. Aside from the sweets, We particularly love the pizza crusts and cheese, jalapeño bread!
🌟 First Visit – Definitely Not the Last! 🌟
I stopped by Sprouted Oven for the first time and was so impressed! I was thrilled to find Caputo gluten-free flour—something I’ve been wanting to try for a while. I also picked up their gluten-free honey oat bread, which tastes amazing.
But the real standout? The berry scone. It was unlike any scone I’ve ever had—moist, packed with juicy berries, and bursting with flavor. Not dry or crumbly like most scones. Just perfect.
The girl at the counter was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. It’s always a treat when great products are matched by great service.
✅ Delicious GF options
✅ Friendly staff
✅ Welcoming vibe
I’m already looking forward to my next visit!
John and June are incredible. They do wizardry level magic with baking and you never think of their stuff as “gluten free” - you just think of it as the best you’ve ever tasted.
Solid 5 stars!!! EVERYTHING is gluten free. The cafe is beautiful and so zen. I got a green onion & cheddar scone and was recommended the blueberry apple crumble muffin. Delicious!
Cutest bakery and cafe!
Really tasty gluten and dairy free breads, made fresh every Thursday!
Great selection of gluten-free desserts.
Not celiac friendly, but those looking for GF items it is great.
Fave gluten free bakery in Kits. The turkey & cheese croissant is a favorite. Alongside their paninis and sweet baked goods. I enjoy stopping here for takeout to bring to the beach for a morning breakfast or late lunch.
Best gluten free bread in town made by happy enthusiastic people!! The food is amazing 👏 I'm always excited to come back i strongly recommend 👌 absolutely love it 😀
Best gluten and dairy free treats I have ever tasted. The peanut butter brownie is to die for! Amazing selection and such a cute cafe. Recommend to anyone with Celiac Disease and looking for a sweet treat!!!
The food: Phenomenal. The smoothies are great, the bowls are savory and full of great stuff, the banh mi wrap is my all time favourite... everything is good, filling and healthy! One of the only places I can eat at that doesn't hurt my stomach afterwards (the girls get it). They serve fast, it's easy to order ahead and have meals that are ready to be taken out and cooked at home.
The service: Even better. They are kind, accommodating, personable and don't judge you when you've ordered the same thing three days in a row.
The location: Feels like a community space. They always have posters of local events, host local artists and it is wheelchair accessible! Based on all my experience there, I'd also say they are neurodivergent friendly - always patient, don't mind repeating themselves and are willing to adjust.
FYI: I'm not vegan or gluten-intolerant. :) I just love good food. Keep it up!
Lots of GF celiac safe goodies my personal fav is the turtle cheesecake. You can also buy their products at Save On Foods frozen. Such a cute little bookshop and cafe but always packed!
Checked out Big Fat Lion Bakeshop, which makes vegan/gluten free/egg free/dairy free/nut/soy/sesame free goodies. They had muffins, cookies, brownies and a few other treats. No prices in their display.
Got a German brownie ($6.00) and lemon lavender cookie ($4.25). Brownie was slightly denser texture with coconut caramel. Cookie was better; good flavour and texture. 3.5 stars.
Like this place very much. We tend to visit each time we are in the area. Great selection of vegetarian items, gluten free bakery options, as well as good breakfast and lunch choices.
An incredible GEM for anyone who’s gluten free. I am visiting from Nashville, and I wish I could pick this whole little bakery up and bring it home with me. I will grieve not having access to this.
Purchased a carrot cake muffin. Hubby says it's delicious work lots of nuts. Cream cheese icing.
Purchased a rectangle piece of gluten-free pizza. About 6" by 5" for about $5. It was very delicious with a little bit of spiciness. The crust was made with rice flour, and was quite heavy with oil.
Ordered a few gluten free cakes from vegan bakery Edible Flours.
- Green velvet ($60.00 for 6" GF) - best of the three. Decent matcha flavour
- Raspalicious ($60.00 for 6" GF) - texture lacking, mute flavour. Wanted more raspberry
- S'mores ($60.00 for 6" GF) - bland
EF's cakes are nowhere close to the quality of the other, better GF bakeries in town.
Great selection of gluten free breads and baked treats. Also their muffins coffee was pretty good. A must try place for people who have gluten sensitivity.
Awesome bakery with very friendly people. I need to be gluten free and there was a good selection there. Lots of breads and pastry for the rest of you too!
Beautiful bakery with a lovely range of gluten-free options. I do wish there were alternatives for people who can’t tolerate xanthan gum, as it's in all their breads. When I mentioned my allergy, I felt a bit dismissed—which was disappointing. I’m sharing this so others with food sensitivities are aware, and in the hope that staff might take all allergies seriously, even the lesser-known ones.
That said, I admire the effort to provide gluten-free products and hope they might consider xanthan-free options in the future.
A very small bakery with a large wood fired oven with which they make a variety of delicious baked goods. Some goods are gluten and other ingredients free. I only left out an "Atmosphere" rating because it is simply a small counter to purchase goods. There is no place to sit.
It is a very beautiful place and the food is great. But unfortunately, not great if you can't eat gluten. They do sell some yummy items at the market but if you want to dine in, there is only the GF waffle served until 3:30pm.
I've tried to ask if I could buy a GF corn pizza and they would warm up so I can eat at the location and they said no, without any explanation... it was passed 3:30pm and I didn't had any options to eat, so I had to find another place to eat, which was very frustrating.
Gluten free "Tofino" (Nanaimo) bars!
Cheap breakfast and drinks. Basic diner food that fuels you for the day. Friendly servers.
Classic local spot. Huge selection of baked goods.
Delicious gluten-free potato bread. The issue here is the service, rude lady owner. I came here yesterday and called ahead and asked if they had that special bread . She said yes. I arrived from Burnaby, and she got mad at me, said it wasn’t enough that I called, that I had to put it on hold too. Sorry? I didn’t I had to put it on hold, the communication wasn’t there and made me feel like I was the problem. I was very excited for the bread too. To be fair, the husband was kinder and tried to offer me the hotdog bun version, but I couldn’t leave any faster. Aunties bakery in Burnaby has this potato bread, so I will be making the trek there
The gluten free treats were some of the best I've ever had. The first day I had a gluten free brownie bite and it was so delicious I went back the next day to have it again
But alas! It was different treats! Luckily there was a gluten free carrot cake instead. It was delicious. Light and fluffy and so pretty! There were two gluten free breads to eat as well. The sourdough was amazing. The bun was crumbly and fell apart everywhere so I would recommend not getting it.
The service was also excellent. Very kind and friendly staff :)
Absolutely amazing!
I ordered a birthday cake for my daughter. We have many food restrictions and they all were met. No gluten, no sugar and dairy.
And the cake was delicious!
Also the service was amazing. Easy and fast communication.
Worth every penny!
Very highly recommended
BREAKFAST should NOT be in the name, "specialty breakfast" means no option other than quiche which, was already sold out. "Special" part of specialty is gluten free, low sugar, etc. not "breakfast" as their specialty. Location is a coffee shop and special diet food store, not a restaurant.
On the plus side:
Coffee - excellent,
BLT served on the wrong bread; quickly self noticed and fixed - 8/10 (only not a fan of bread but what choice do we have in a gluten free shop),
Carrot cake - same, gluten free means different textures but overall quite good.
Friendly staff, clean, only downside was that I was hoping for hash browns, eggs, bacon, sausage, toast, etc. I left feeling hungry after a $25 snack. Male, 44, slim, 173lbs
Eco treats is a local treasure in Salmon Arm! The coffee is always delicious and they have many gluten free treats options which I appreciate. It’s often busy in there so be prepared to take your coffee to go!
We come to Sun Peaks often and stop everytime for lunch here.
Tons of dairy free/gluten free/vegan options for those who need. Locally sourced ingredients.
The owners conversational and makes an effort to talk to guests.
I LOVE Oldhand! The owners and staff are so lovely. Oldhand has my favourite chai of anywhere in Abbotsford, you can get delicious and fresh lunch options, and the cafe has such a cozy atmosphere to linger for awhile.
Sometimes the breakfast cookie (gluten-free, vegan, & delicious!) is still warm when I get it, and other times it does not taste very fresh and leaves a bit to be desired. I wish there was more consistency with this.
Other than that, Oldhand truly is an Abbotsford staple. Great vibes, lovely food & beverage offerings, and stellar humans who make you feel welcome. Cheers!
The food here is excellent! I love all their gluten free options and seasonal drinks. It is a little expensive (similar to a sit down restaurant), so it wouldn't be a place I could go every day, but they pay their staff better than other coffee shops so I can ignore the price once in a while as a treat.
Definitely a go to ice cream place when in Nelson, I got the birthday cake and a delicious surprise of birthday cake chunks came with it. Way to good to skip . The owner and workers are all really nice and if your gluten free or vegan they have options for you as well
NOT great for someone who has Celiac as very limited GF options (no GF burger buns) - they are clear that they cannot guarantee cross contamination, etc. HOWEVER, we did take a chance and ordered the Bacun Crafty Mac N Cheese dish with GF pasta - it was delicious! And so was the London Fog! The staff are friendly and helpful. And the atmosphere was relaxing. Nice to have tasty Vegan food in Victoria!
We went to Purebread for a sweet treat after brekkie and they had so many gluten free options. I’m easily pleased when it comes to GF sweet treats as the options are usually limited, but the Easter chocolate brownie is genuinely 10/10 delicious. The staff were also lovely!
Super nice little cafe, staff were all very friendly and they had the best gluten free bread I've ever had! Nice variety of different sandwiches, all can be subbed with gluten free bread for $1.50, great place to grad stuff to go if you're heading to sooke potholes or up the coast!
