Most authentic oven-fired neopolitan pizza in downtown BK; BEST GLUTEN FREE crust in the CITY! The evening ambiance and heated / covered backyard are as delectable as the food. This has become a special treat for date night--it feels like a slice of Italy 🍨
Good overall, good gluten free pasta. But I find it to be a bit over-rated. Desserts are not that good. Flavor is always off. They’ve messed up my delivery orders multiple times with no attempt to make it right.
Literally the best vegan food i've had in ages (easily adaptable to vegan and gluten-free options).
The food is extremely tasty, there are many options and the staff is adorable.
I highly recommend!!

I've been here a bunch of times and recently went again. It was great!
The vegetarian combo was fantastic as always. I think this place has my favorite injera. I've been here with a gluten-free friend and they offer a gluten-free injera option - so great! The lentil sambusa was flavorful and delicious, a great option for kids. Although, you should be sure that your kid can handle flavor and texture and spice; this isn't a place for buttered noodle kids.
The service is always good and the space is nice.
We sat in the back which was fully enclosed, so that was lovely. I've been back there before in the summer, but was happy to see the enclosure was comfortable.
Clean eating but kind of boring for the price. Good for dietary restrictions like gluten free stuff. Just not very exciting and not very large portions so didn't like the price was entirely justified. The non alcoholic drinks are a rip off for sure. $12 for like 4 oz of juice essentially. That was a little steep. Service was very good however, atmosphere was nice. Went for brunch so the wait for the food was a bit long. Fresh juices were very good.
Really great celiac-friendly restaurant. They even have the option of gluten-free pita upon request that's quite delicious. My food accidentally came with a regular pita on it and they immediately noticed their mistake and went back and prepared a fresh, new plate.
The Jungle Cafe is one of those places that nourishes you on all levels. Tasty, clean, fresh, healthy food in a warm, natural and inviting environment. Great smoothies, juices, sandwiches, salads, main courses, vegan and gluten free deserts — even hot cacao! The buffet has a wide selection and features rotating cultural themes daily (Mexican, Indian, Polish, etc.). Do yourself and your community a favor by supporting this great local establishment!
PS — It’s also a great place to get some reading or work done, or meet up with friends.
ISO recommendations on GF restaurants/coffee shops and where to get GF groceries (bread, pasta, cereals...) around Kensington/Windsor terrace/Park Slope area 🤞
the lemongrass pork rice bowl was insanely good AND gluten free!!!!!!! (iirc all the rice bowls are!) i've been missing vietnamese marinated pork since being diagnosed celiac and this more than hit the spot. so flavorful and juicy.
I was so excited to try Colonia Verde but sadly left very disappointed. While most of the menu is marked gluten free, for some reason they use a shared fryer.
The place is beautiful, but the food is just OK. I had the mushroom tacos and the picanha, and to be honest they were just fine. Our waiter seemed a little confused around what was safe for celiac or not, which again was just disappointing given how well the menu is marked!
Awesome place!.... Food was delicious, fresh and served with a smile. High quality ingredients. Great gluten free options. Worth visiting. A good find.
I have been an Ursula evangelist since they opened. At this expanded location on Nostrand, I am even more so. The breakfast burritos have always been incredible, and now with an expanded brunch, lunch and dinner menu, you get the best of New Mexican cuisine with an amazing atmosphere and staff. The food is consistently creative and delicious. As someone who is gluten free, I can eat the majority of this menu with reckless abandon (even the desserts!!). So many great vegan and vegetarian options too. The food is also great as take out. This is the perfect spot for a fun dinner with friends or a cute date night. Can’t recommend Ursula’s enough!
The gluten free pizza was very chewy - the flavor of margherita was not good, very bland; the tre foliage was very salty, but not flavorful. Won’t come back again
I had an outstanding dining experience tonight. From the food to the service and that the noise level was wonderful. We were able to talk and hear each other which doesn’t happen as much anymore. Food outstanding I’m gluten and dairy free many options on the menu. I highly recommend Scottadio.
As someone with celiac disease, finding a restaurant where I won’t get poisoned can be challenging. When the staff know the seriousness of it and actively assist in accommodating a dietary restriction, I am able to feel so much more at ease and can actually enjoy the food. I really enjoyed everything and appreciated the service. Highly recommend
Found this restaurant looking for gluten free options for friends. The ambience is so welcoming and yet intimate. Food was excellent, my gluten free friend enjoyed her meal as well. Would def recommend this place!
Because of the gluten-free options, I’ve given this place multiple tries and every time it’s the same.
Long wait times, regardless of how many people are in front of you. Incredibly small portions for a seemingly ridiculous price (even in this economy). I swear they only use 1 medium egg with every sandwich. My friend got a BEC on a bagel and could barely find the egg. Watery smoothies. Chai latte tastes like cereal milk. Food generally tastes good but def not worth the time and money. At this point, idc if it’s organic, I’d rather pop into my local bodega and add gluten free bread from home. Vibes are 100% gentrification from aesthetics to pricing to the demographic that continues to come here.
Hearty Italian with extremely friendly and accommodating service. All our dishes were excellent in terms of taste (including gluten free pasta which they paid extra attention to if there was gluten in the meatballs - thank you!), and were very generous in time of size. I'd recommend considering splitting a dish! It is cash only and marked clearly as such IMO. We definitely would love to come back as it feels like the family type of Brooklyn vibe we appreciate. A great spot in Brooklyn Heights!
Meat eater here! I don’t usually go looking for vegan food but the gluten free bun on this menu caught my eye. After talking with the cashier, a bright person with a friendly demeanor named Khyla, I was sold on the burger. Khyla gave me complete confidence that I not only won’t be “glutened” but would love the food. The vegan burger resembled beef in texture but had a new and distinct flavor that I really enjoyed. With gluten transparency highlighted on the menu this is a safe space to enjoy tasty fast food. 10 out of 10.
I’m coeliac and they gave me farrow!
Waited 1 hour for any food at all (appetizers) and then a long time between courses. >3 hours total. Food small portions & very very overpriced.
Too easy to use the incorrect side of v sharp knife- cut finger. Many rats around their chicken coup right outside the window we ate at (they weren’t bothered).
I never got a reply from them on my email with allergy concerns after feeling unwell. I would not recommend.
They were very accommodating for gluten sensitive folks, and the food was amazing. Everything was good, but the sweet potato was easily my favorite. Excellent mocktail selection for non drinkers.
This is a lovely neighborhood spot with excellent food and cocktails in a beautifully designed cozy interior. The staff has always been friendly and accommodating. The gluten free pizza option is great and the saffron risotto is delicious. Ingredients are obviously fresh and high quality through out. Highly recommend!
My mom and I dined at Cecconi’s yesterday evening - we were seated right by the window for a perfect view of both bridges. Both of us follow a vegan, gluten free diet and had absolutely zero issues being accommodated. Our server, Juan, was kind, quick, professional, thoughtful, and truly went above and beyond for me. While we split the butter lettuce salad for a starter (quite a generous portion even for us garden folk), my mom opted for a gluten free penne pasta with pomodoro sauce + added mushrooms for her main. I used to get the Beyond Meat Sausage and Mushroom pizza with vegan cheese, which is sadly no longer on the menu. However, Juan spoke to the chefs and pizza powers to be, and they were able to recreate the pizza for me — gluten free too! Honestly, it was the best version of that pizza I’ve ever had there. I ate every single bite. My mom and I also shared a side of roasted potatoes, which were so good (without being too oily). If you’re looking for a high quality dinner option with good views, great service, and impeccable food, then Cecconi’s is your place. Thanks again, Juan!!
I have been to this restaurant (both UES and Emmons locations) many times in the past 2 years, and the food is always delicious. Likewise, they have live music in their Emmons location. Furthermore, they have gluten-free options, which is great but cost a little bit extra.

Did a timeleft dinner hear. The food was incredible. I had a gluten free beef oxtail pasta. I'm still thinking about it days later. They need better hot sauce on the side though.
The food is gluten free. And they already charge a service fee of 20%. Most of the food was missing flavor, the best part of the meal was the drinks. The place looks nice but other than that, I wouldn't recommend this place unless you are going on diet or want gluten free options.
Amazing spot with great food and drinks. The first time we stopped in here we weren’t sure to expect and everything was amazing. That was a few years ago now and we’ve been going back ever since!
They have a ton of gluten free options!
Amazing local haunt with classic and delicious Italian food. It makes sense that there’s lots of local regulars because the service is very attentive, warm and personalized with staff that has lots of attention to detail and are passionate about the place. They put real effort into be accommodating for vegetarians, vegans and gluten free too!
This place is superb. A true gem. I’m a local and have eaten here many times but my most recent visit compelled me to write a review. A waiter forgot one of our orders (it happens in restaurants). The waiter and manager graciously apologised, brought us some snacks on the house while we waited, didn’t charge us for the dish and offered us a nice dessert wine on the house. I wish all restaurants managed inevitable errors like this.
Ambiance: Outdoor area is situated in a walled garden with nice greenery and warm lighting. It allows you to escape the noise of the street and the Subway and almost feel like you’re somewhere in Tuscany. Tables are spaced apart enough that you won’t feel like you’re part of the adjacent table’s conversations. Indoor is more lively and cosy with open kitchen and bar adding to energy. The windows fog up during winter, creating a “warm refuge with tasty food” vibe from the outside.
The food is very good. I’ve tried most of the mains and I go back to the sausage and cavatelli. It sounds like the most unoriginal red-sauce Italian restaurant meal you’ve ever heard of, but it’s hands down my favourite meal in New York. Handmade pasta with brown butter, Italian sausage. Glorious. Folk who’ve lived here 15-20years agree too! For other meat dishes, the lamb ragu and the meatballs are some of the best I’ve had. The sweet sausage and red peppers is gluten free, served with polenta.
For something lighter, the eggplant marinara is perhaps surprisingly a lighter variant vs the typical 8tonnes of bread crumbs, cheese and red sauce production served in many NY Italians. Homemade tomato sauce, nice balanced seasoning. Sweet potato ravioli is also nice and light.
For dessert, give Tiramisu a break for just one Italian restaurant outing and try the stunning Red Wine Prunes and Mascarpone instead.
