This is a 100% GF bakery and coffee shop. I was so excited to get a cinnamon roll! I wish I had gotten a blueberry muffin to go! Next time for sure! They also have a restaurant down the street! They only take cash or AMEX so be prepared.
My first place to eat in NYC and my first time in a 100% GF restaurant. everything was so good, I got the Açaí bowl and the Classic Cheese Bread whilst my Grandmother got the Panini, she can eat gluten but said it was the best bread she’d ever had! I’d highly recommend, especially if you’re looking for bread you can chew!
Happened to pass by this adorable gluten-free crepe shop and was surprised to find the best crepe I’ve ever had! (And I’m not even gluten-free.) Definitely a must try when visiting the East Village!
Great options for vegan brunch. Although the vegan BLT was unexpectedly sweet, the quality of the food was excellent.i would return to try another vegan dish. Recommended for groups with various dietary needs (vegan, gluten free, nut free, etc). Service was great!
Delicious churros! I've not had a churro since going gluten free and these were great. My partner who is not gluten free or vegan said he couldn't tell the difference.
Also really good vanilla icecream!
The place has me completely convinced. Staff members delivered superior service as usual. Their commitment to good ingredients is clear. Quality ingredients at accessible costs. Nadas - Rainbow Gluten Free Empanadas makes me wish I lived closer.
we ordered coffee, bagels and cinnamon buns. The coffee was lukewarm. we asked the worker if it was possible to warm it up a little bit, and he gave us the dirtiest look and attitude ever. He did offer to remake it but made it sound like it was like a huge inconvenience (I refused). The bagels were average at best. the cinnamon buns were very dense. Overall a bad experience.
Classic New York style diner with all the usual breakfast options. Massive portions, you would need to be hungry to finish your meal! Full GF menu, our Coeliac daughter had waffles and they were delicious, no ‘tummy’ after effects! The only slight issue we had was that the server brought all 4 plates together stacked up along his arm meaning a plate with my toast was sitting on top of my daughters GF plate, increasing the chances of cross contamination. I’d have preferred if the GF food were brought out separately. Otherwise, all was good, very friendly staff, enjoyable breakfast.
AMAZING GLUTEN FREE AND SEVERAL DAIRY FREE OPTIONS!!! The pumpkin donuts are to die for: soft, juicy, flavorful! The apple cider donuts are very very good, too (a little less flavorful than the pumpkin ones).
Shop is clean and clerks are professional.
Not sure why the music has to be so loud, but I’m only in there for a hot second, so I hope it makes the employees happy, cause they definitely deserve to be happy!!!
Really enjoyed the bandeja paisa here! As a celiac it’s nice to have the gluten free guarantee even for foods I know don’t typically have gluten. Service is great and friendly. Feels like to hear Colombian Spanish, made me feel right at home.
I was pleasantly surprised with the gluten free BEC. It’s not dense like a regular bagel - it’s very airy - but it’s pretty solid. And for gluten free, “pretty solid” is a good review.
Gluten free bagel sandwich came out to ~$11.
It took around 5 minutes on a Monday morning.
They have lots of bagel options. Lots of cream cheese options. Snacks, desserts.
Their sandwiches (with meat or fish) are very expensive (over $20).
I thought the breakfast sandwich was great, they definitely use fresh ingredients. The wife got an avocado toast and the egg was a bit undercooked, over easy is ok but the white wasn’t cooked and when broken it leaked a clearish liquid. They do have an assortment of gluten free baked goods but if you have celiac please note they are cross contaminated which they lady behind the counter told us.
the baked goods are so tasty! my most recent visit here was to get a gluten free cupcake for my friend for my birthday party. I was shocked to see how many gluten free options there were to chose from! she LOVED the gf carrot cake!!
Not gonna lie, I was skeptical when I realized it was vegan. I got a latte with almond milk and a gluten free savory biscuit and it was terrific! I don’t think I’ve ever had anything gluten free that was so moist. Will def come back and try some of their lunch items. Yum!
I love Simply Sweets! Their products are always so fresh and delicious! The customer service is excellent as well. As a vegan, I feel so lucky to have this amazing place in our neighborhood. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves healthy, gluten free, plant-based, vegan, and of course delicious sweets!

Went to try gluten free and vegan options. I got the vegan Oreo cake and my mom got the gluten free caramel coffee cake - they were delicious! Like beyond good, I would never know that cake was vegan. I even saved half the Oreo cake in the hotel fridge, had it the next day and it was even better than I remembered. We are going to try to go back before we leave NYC and try more of the vegan / gf options
Very few options if you are Celiac but the staff is knowledgeable and kitchen accommodating. Pastas are not a safe option for us but I had a delicious salad with shrimps that were grilled in a clean pan.
Great place for an all day breakfast and more. The vibes are super old school Newyorker style. Good coffee! And GLUTEN FREE options. I definitely recommend it.
Staff is wonderful and the environment is always tidy and clean. Their Pasta Bolo has got to be one of my favorite dishes - gluten-free, diary-free guilt-free, all without feeling like I’m sacrificing anything.
I used to love this place, but I feel they shouldn’t advertise having gluten free pizza options if they will always be out before the day starts out and don’t try to have enough dough left for people. If you are gluten free, its best to avoid unless you wish on a genie to get lucky.
Most delicious bagels! So many options of cream cheese!! Thank you for offering Gluten Free Options!!! We came because of the reviews and we highly recommend! The owner, Robert is a very friendly New Yorker! All the staff is very nice too!
I am gluten, egg, and dairy intolerant and also vegan. It’s difficult to find options that accommodate my needs, but even more difficult to find tasty options. Bloom Cafe has a plethora of options and the flavors are bursting here! I had the BEST just egg sandwich ever and the hibiscus iced tea is out of this world. My son said they have the best hot chocolate he’s ever had!
I'm a foody and haven't eaten meat in over 40 years.
The steak special--mmmmm. I hope it becomes part of the regular menu. Please! I think they should take it to Shark Tank! :D Scrumptious. They nailed the texture, taste, and preparation. What a treat for any diner, but especially a vegetarian/vegan!!! My carnivore boyfriend said it's indistinguishable from actual steak.
Best vegetarian dumplings ever in the wonton soup: full of vibrantly delicious ingredients, fresh, and great firm wrapper. I loved the broth too. I hated to part with one of the wontons, but I had to give my boyfriend the pleasure of eating one.
And the desserts are incredibly moist and high-quality. I can barely eat typical American desserts b/c of the oversweet mix of poor ingredients. I savor every bite of every dessert at Peacefood. There is real food in the desserts, like what seem like just enough chopped plumped raisins as a sweetener in the gluten-free, vegan dark chocolate loaf.
I also appreciate the ambience at Peacefood. It's a place to unwind and enjoy yourself and your food.
This cafe is great. It has clearly labeled vegan and gluten free items. We got the Not Your Every Day Nachos and the Vegan Poke Bowl. Both were yummy and the house made nacho cheese was especially good. They also had house nut milk for their Chai Latte.
I had to get the lemon poppy seed muffin on the way out which was one of the most moist gluten free baked goods I have had.
You order at the counter and they give you a number to bring to your table so you can choose where to sit. They have free Wi-Fi if you want to bring your laptop and work.
The bathrooms are clean which is always a plus. There's one single on the first floor as well as gender neutral stalls in the basement.
I ordered a “sicilia” explicitly asking if there was tomato sauce on it, the waiter said yes. They brought a pizza with no tomato sauce, only cherry tomatoes and eggplants. I asked to add tomato sauce and they added the sauce from the can without even heating it up again.
Also way too expensive for the service and quality of food. Not many vegan options. +5 for gluten free is too much
I would not recommend this place for allergies, especially for people with celiacs. Unfortunately, places like this are the most dangerous for people with food allergies. The menu is marked and seems inclusive, but the staff I interacted with was not aware and did not care or take note when I asked about gluten free options and said that I have a gluten allergy.
The person working didn’t know what I was talking about when I asked if the fries are fried in a shared fryer and was annoyed when I asked if she could check. She left and didn’t come back with a clear answer so, I played it as safe as possible and my food still came out carelessly on bread. I brought it to the counter and they brought it right back out without the bread. No communication. At that point I started noticed the lipstick on marks on my water cup and the jars of shared condiments where anyone can dip whatever utensils they want into it (including contaminated knives spreading on bread and back). I was grossed out. I have celiacs. These details matter. I know how to navigate menus and how to respectfully advocate for the bare minimum. It’s not clean and it’s not safe.
