Thank you for making pizza that I can actually eat that tastes amazing. Finding a gluten-free/dairy-free pizza that doesn’t taste like chemicals and sadness is a true feat. ❤️
The BEST spot for a quick meal in Victoria. Buffet, self serve style. The food is always hot and delicious and affordable. Kind staff. Washrooms. Wifi. The best desserts and drinks. Gluten free and dairy free options. Lots of seating for small and big groups.
Excellent service and accommodating to gluten-free allergies. Excellent food for my gluten free Large Hemingway Short Story with 6 prawns. I Highly recommend the duck wings!
This place is popular! Very crowded and loud inside. Enjoyed it even though it was packed. Live music.
There was the option of quieter outdoor seating with plenty of room while we were there.
A really unique restaurant in Langford. Nothing quite like it in the immediate area.
Andrew was our server, and went above and beyond to make sure our experience was perfect.
The food was incredible, and had lots of options for various restricted diets including gluten free, and vegan.
My wife ordered gluten free, she was served gluten. She is a celiac. Unacceptable. No apology from the server or manager. The item was also left on the bill. I honestly can’t believe this is how this restaurant operates.
Paid 16 dollars (as I gave 2 dollar tip) for some good tasting chicken soup. I was disappointed to see there were only like 3 tiny pieces of chicken in the soup. Also for folks who don’t want bread, maybe provide a gluten free option or reduce the overall price of the meal. The servers were very kind and the soup tasted good but for the price point not so much!
Il Covo is a new Victoria fave for me! The garden patio is beautiful and the whole place has a lovely atmosphere. Morgana, our server, was amazing and the food was excellent. Our group was looking for some vegan and gluten free options and she was so knowledgable and made great recommendations for everyone! We will be back for sure :)
Great food. Great decor. Very gluten sensitivity friendly. The place is very clean. The staff are very friendly. 100% recommend to anyone visiting the area.
Surprisingly better than I expected! Especially as a local, I usually avoid tourists traps.
The Avo. Club is great! Real chicken, large pieces of bacon, Roma tomato, fresh greens, cibatta was soft n fresh too.
GF bun for Celiac folks.
Great view of Vic on the patio.
Valentine’s Day dinner. Booked in advance and the restaurant actually called before hand to confirm reservation and to see if we needed any special help for possible mobility issues. We didn’t but Outstanding! First time ever. We ordered the Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl, and the Piri Piri half chicken dinner. The bowl was beautiful and delicious. The only thing I would suggest is that it be a larger portion. They really stepped up to make the chicken dinner gluten and dairy free with incredible ease! Both dinners were delicious. Nice atmosphere on the upper floor. Service was outstanding. Two dinners and two glasses of wine 🍷 for under $ 💯, including tip. Highly recommend this place. Nice place and value!
Cheers! 🥂
We needed gluten free and we were very happy to know that they have a dedicated gluten free menu and they use a dedicated gluten free fryer for their food. It can be really hard to find a lot of places like this, but this is by far my favourite place to eat in Victoria! I really want to thank everyone there who made it very easy to find safe food for us.
La Taquisa’s owners Scott & Sindy will tell you:
- Everything is made from scratch - less the Valentina’s & soda.
- We only use local, antibiotic, hormone free meats.
- We proudly serve authentic family recipes.
But they’re forgetting, that their food is absolutely delicious and has remained the same price for years - they’re the cheapest in town, by several dollars per meal.
Over the years, and the hundreds of times I’ve dined there - I’ve only ever had one issue, which was a salsa missing from my order. Chucked it up to them being human, and me ordering an exorbitant amount of salsa. 😅
I’ve tried every meat and veggie option, and every salsa, the guac, and the refried beans. It’s all good.

“Secret menu”
Burrito-on-a-plate (gluten free)
Each component is placed next to one another, you can self-assemble into tacos with the 3 included gluten-free corn tortillas or make a burrito bowl.
This isn’t exactly secret, but is available in their online menu although the in-store menus haven’t been updated, but can be ordered in-person.
They’re coming up on their 15th year having brick-and-mortar locations:
- Downtown in the spring through early fall has a large outdoor courtyard, the Fort Commons, that is shared with other businesses the border the space.
- Vic West has a row of bar height seating with stools, and a few tables outside.
Any nit-pic comments or drawbacks mentioned in other reviews are more than made up for with the value that they’re offering, which is why they’ve earned 5 stars despite not being literal perfection.
Delicious, gluten free options, great staff! My only feedback is that the store is so freezing cold to sit in. I’m wearing my toque are so are the staff 😅
Thought I’d have to watch everyone eat But was surprised their chowder is dairy and gluten free. Great tasting coconut based chowder and especially wonderful on a drizzly evening.
First time at Cafe Brio ever, you really are never sure what to expect at a new restaurant, what I can share is Wow I went with a friend and we sampled the duck, olives and lamb rib appetizers...all exceptional with lots of flavor and even though the online menu didn't show the full list of drinks they had some great original cocktails. For dinner I had a half order of Mushroom Risotto(texture exceptional lots of mushrooms and a interesting addition purple corn flowers) and a half order of the daily special Rock Fish. Alot of thought goes info the presentation and flavors in each dish. I took me 15 min to decide on what too eat and I cant wait to return. P.S. they have gluten free options and my friend was also extremely happy with his selections. Good job 👍 guys kudos to the chef and great service from the servers.
I was hesitant to believe that any place with 5.0 stars was legit — but they are.
It’s all takeout — it looks like they just borrow a kitchen from a local community center and you order online and pick up through a side door. Nothing fancy about this place.
But the owner who took my order was cheerful, enthusiastic and answered all questions and knew exactly what was gluten-free and what wasn’t.
We ordered a lamb shank, baba ganoush and falafel and everything was ready in ten minutes.
My husband “hates lamb,” so when I got it home and he dug in, said “this beef is excellent,” and asked what cut it was, he was pretty surprised to find out that he actually really likes lamb when it’s done right!
This place is new so eventually they’ll get a rating under 5 stars from somewhere, but for now, their record stands!

Location is beautiful but food was a stinker! I am gluten intolerant and the staff were not prepared at all to accommodate for my dietary needs.
I requested the salmon burger be lettuce wrapped with a salad on the side. The salmon came out with nothing but lettuce, the lettuce was not washed (I ran my finger over it and tangible dirt came off onto my finger), and the salad also had no dressing. It was just cheap greens with a small piece of salmon for almost $30.
I waited ten minutes to finally wave the waitress down and ask for mayo for the burger and dressing for the salad. The "dressing" they brought me for the salad was just straight white vinegar.
I left hungry and super disappointed, I regret not sending the food back.
I would never go back and I would recommend anyone whose toying with the idea of trying it out, to choose somewhere else.
Amazing food, looks just as good as it tastes! Very flavourful and delicious. Gluten free options were really appreciated and clearly labelled. If possible to have a separate gluten free fryer so I could have some fries, that would be the cherry on top.
Excellent pad thai and thai food is my favourite. Service was lovely and personable, cheesecake dessert was gluten free and vegan friendly which was awesome. Support local!
Unfortunately Milestones has significantly reduced their gluten free/friendly menu options. Their main menu items are pricey but the portions are generous. The serving staff don't seem well informed about their wine or menu options but willing to check. However, the food is always consistent and the Milestones on the Victoria BC inner harbour has lovely views and a great, full sun patio in the nice weather. Of course, no one beats a Milestones bellini.
Had the Paisa King plate, and it was indeed kingly. The plantain arepa was also awesome, as was the coffee. Some real authentic business, 10/10, and the arepas are gluten-free.
as much as i love this places I do not recommend as a place that celiacs can rely on the menu markings! items are fried in the same deep fryer and server when asked suggested that it is gluten free because some people can handle it due to gluten being killed in the high heat of the deep fryer. this is not the case as gluten is unaffected in deep fryers remains in the deep fryer and leads to cross contamination making anything deep fried unsafe for celiacs although clearly marked “gluten-free”. overall great experience with gluten free options that are available if you know what questions to ask.
Went here today for the first time with my wife, it’s an unconventional location. It’s kind of a strange area near a high school we went in and sat down at the table. We were served immediately, and the food was served promptly. Everything was very delicious very fresh. Everything is made from scratch. We went at lunchtime and there was a lot of kids from the high school that were stopping by and the owner knew every kid by name. It was impressive to see the kids were all very respectful towards the owner and he was respectful towards them. They have a lot of delicious homemade items available. I think there might be gluten-free options as well, everything was fresh and excellent. The prices are very fair and I would love to go back. A+

Delicious breakfast food from a food truck permanently stationed in Cook Street Village in a space with other food trucks. We've had hash twice and it's AMAZING. I'd like to try the smoothie bowls. Good gluten free and vegetarian options. Staff are friendly and funny.
I would not have survived Rifflandia without them!! They made me a special dietary restricted gluten-free pasta dish which was so tasty and kept me going all night! Thank you!❤️
