As a celiac who recently moved to Victoria, I was excited to try Origin Bakery. The Almond Slice and chocolate ganache cupcakes are to die for... absolutely delicious! I have enjoyed many different GF breads from independent bakeries across the country (coast to coast) and the bread here is very decent - not my favourite, but WAY better than commercial, so definitely recommend. This past weekend, with the anniversary sale, I made a large order and was thrilled with all of it with the exception of the lemon curd. I was very disappointed in that the curd was a brownish colour, rather than yellow, and had a burnt/caramelized taste along with flecks of dark brown near burnt pieces and was, in my opinion, not edible. I wrote to the bakery to ask what could be done, and the response I received was that they make it that way on purpose and that due to personal preference, no refund or a new container would be provided. Fair enough. But also good to know that I will NEVER order the lemon pie from the bakery or again order the safe lemon curd to use in my own baking. Disappointing. It has left a bad taste in my mouth - literally and figuratively.

Such a great place. We ate here for lunch for days! Their homemade soups are delicious, as is the gluten free foccacia bread which I had along with it. The green bowl curry was absolutely outstanding, highly recommended. We had the turtle cheesecake one day, super creamy and delicious. One of my favorite places to go!

Virtuous Pie has the most amazing management team, and staff. They have went above and beyond with our dining experience. The food, the atmosphere, everything was incredible. As someone with celiac disease, it is very hard to trust resturants, but Virtuous Pie has made me feel extremely safe. Back in October they had a new manager who made our experience uncomfortable to say the least. I sent them an email explaining what happened, and they took the matter very seriously. They then reached out to have our group come back in for a amazing experience, and they weren't lying. The went above and beyond, and I will always be a returning customer. Thank you for everything.

This place is unreal! One of the best breakfasts of my life. Begging for y’all to open a location in LA. Objectively delicious breakfast. Plus perfect for my gluten and dairy free needs. I’m still thinking about that hollandaise. Kind staff. Good vibes. Went back the next day it was so good. If I lived in Victoria I would eat here once a week at least. Wish I could give more stars. NEVER CLOSE I BEG.

I had an amazing dining experience at Bin 4 Burger Lounge in Victoria! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by a friendly staff and a vibrant atmosphere that set the perfect tone for a casual meal. The menu offers a fantastic array of gourmet burgers, and I opted for the "Bin 4 Burger" with all the toppings. It was absolutely delicious! The patty was juicy and cooked to perfection, and the combination of fresh ingredients made each bite a delight. I also tried their sweet potato fries, which were crispy and full of flavor — highly recommend! What stood out to me was the variety of options available, including vegetarian and gluten-free choices, making it a great spot for everyone. The service was prompt and attentive, and the staff seemed genuinely happy to be there, which added to the overall experience. If you’re in Victoria and craving a great burger, Bin 4 Burger Lounge is a must-visit! I can’t wait to come back and try more from their menu!
