Had high hopes for Sebastien Sans Gluten after hearing great things, but my visit on 7/6/25 was pretty underwhelming.
I picked up a meat pie, sausage roll, cheese pastry, and a loaf of bread. The cheese pastry was alright, but the rest were a letdown.
Bread: Really undercooked in the middle – sticky and doughy – with a super hard crust. It was hard to even slice, and you could see the sticky dough clinging to the knife and edges.
Pie & Sausage Roll: Both had undercooked pastry. The pie filling was decent, but the sausage roll was odd – strange texture, not much flavour except fennel, and just not enjoyable.
Altogether it came to just over $50, which felt steep for the quality. Left pretty disappointed and won’t be going back.
We usually stop here when checking out Vivid Sydney as they do gluten free savoury and sweet crepes... and serve alcohol. It's a great spot to begin checking out Vivid too with a short walk to Australia House.
We had a delightful evening at Four Frogs Creperie. Galettes are delicious and very filling. Had to wait for stomach space to have dessert. Staff were lovely and we were not rushed. Would love to have shared photos but we ate it all! Sorry 😋 Galettes are all gluten free and they’re happy to make crepes gluten free if requested. Can’t recommend highly enough.
I would have the pleasure of attending this restaurant before seeing a film at the Ritz. The service was lovely, i was treated like a Parisian elite who had just enough time to visit this boutique crepery. I ordered the La Bretonne, of which the creme fraiche highlighted a delicate combination of the sours from the sour cider that was tinged upon my tongue, and mushrooms that enriched a grandeur of which felt you were greeted with a hearty richness that was neither too heavy nor too bland.
Minus 1 star for being gluten free
MID
Overall, we had a mixed experience – some dishes were delicious, but several service and food issues kept the evening from being truly special.
• Tasty mains: The lamb (with potatoes) was absolutely delicious and cooked perfectly.
• Great gluten-free dessert: The gluten-free rhubarb dessert was a wonderful end to the meal – creative and flavorful.
Areas for Improvement
• Slow service for basics: Water service was slow, and one of our cocktails was forgotten until we reminded the staff.
• Service slip-ups: A waiter dropped cutlery near our table, and we were almost served a drink in a chipped glass (caught just in time).
• Table clutter: Unused wine glasses stayed on our table all night, which felt cluttered and unnecessary.
• No dish explanations: Each dish was delivered with no description or introduction, leaving us guessing what we were eating.
• Food quality issues: Some ingredients not fresh – the cauliflower salad had pomegranate seeds that tasted old, and a gluten-free zucchini flower appetizer had an off (fishy) taste.
• Burnt dessert: Unfortunately, the churros we ordered came out burnt, which was disappointing, especially for a special occasion.
We love the exceptional and prompt service, and the excellent atmosphere that Four Frogs at Mosman offers. The menu has an excellent choice of Galettes and Crêpes, with healthy and gluten-free options. It's our family favourite, it never disappoints.
My wife is a celiac and it’s not easy to find places who actually do o accomodate and do it well.
The place is low key but the food is premium quality at great prices!!
Well done!!
Where do I even begin?
I love this place.
The reason I’m writing this review is because of the staff. Their hospitality and kindness towards my brother Alessandro and I.
Amy the owner and all of the lovely staff are SO KIND!!
We travel 25+ minutes to come here, just for a coffee sometimes!!
My brother has severe autism, and his behaviour is quite noisy, and disruptive. He likes to get up walk around bang his feet, clap and hum. This is his normal behaviour. Because if this we have a hard time accessing the community. (Due to judgement)
But because of this coffee shop, their acceptance, and warm welcoming towards my brother, keeps us coming back, they are so understanding and always greet him by name.
They don’t discriminate, (you’d be surprised the amount of places that are not welcoming.)
Thank you. ❤️❤️
Now, not only is their hospitality absolutely wonderful, their food presentation is stunning and the food even yummier. Their menu has funny names, and there is a wide variety of choices.
They have many options; gluten free, to vegetarian and dairy free options too!! They have multiple sweets and dessert sections with a wide variety of choices.
Honestly they have something for everyone. Don’t get me started on their cookies 🤤🤤
They have lots of events throughout the year, such as Christmas on July, always giving new things to look forward to, there is EVEN high tea 🍵!!! Saves you from travelling hours to the city or other locations.
This is the spot!! I recommend this place to everyone I know. I bring my friends, have work meetings and even bring my pups here 🐶
(Dog friendly!!)
It is perfect for any occasion, they host private functions and also have private rooms.
The aesthetic of this place… so cute!
It’s a structure of a house!!
Very warm and cozy. The outside area, my favourite - bright, green and just lovely.
They even have a boutique- where there is something for everyone. Perfect for gifts, ( they even wrap them for you!! ) from accessories and clothing, to home decorations and and so many cute items. I actually purchased 3 stunning bracelets!!
Thank you Edmonds and Greer !!!
I went for mother's day, and I am in a family with 3 coeliacs and 1 nut allergy. Armorica staff was so accommodating. They have a separate fryer (yes, you can enjoy the fries) and service was perfect! We ordered the market fish tartare, all three fish options, the sirloin and pretty much every side dish on the menu. Everything was very well balanced. Overall a pleasant experience and I would 100% come back to try some of their other things.
Brilliant. Apart from bread rolls, the Menu is entirely gluten free with gluten free bread option. Apparently the chefs wife is coeliac hence the catering to gluten free.
Food was impeccable. Service wonderful.
Bonus was the home made waffles which were just elite.
Absolutely suitable for coeliac.
We went to the caberet event last night and had a great time! The food was absolutely amazing and served quickly with great timing in between meals. The service was really great. Lots of gluten free options which was nice! The show was amazing. All in all a really nice night. We are planning to come back soon :)
Loved our dining experience at Bistro Papillon. Delicious food, i had the raclette which was wonderful for wintery comfort food. Friendly staff and plenty of gluten free options if needed

Atmosphere, decor, drinks and service were good but not being able to switch out/ request any changes to items on the menu is disappointing. Eg, "can we swap the meat on the chacuterie board for additional cheese, to cater for vegetarians?" Was met with a "no.. we can only swap the bread for gluten free bread" bizarre.

Great breakfast buffet with many different choices: pancakes, French toast, waffles, scrambled eggs, baked beans, hashbrowns, potatoes, truffle mushrooms, breads, pastries, cereals, fruit, salad, yoghurt, veggie and fruit juices, dumplings and pork buns, gluten-free baked items, etc. You can order barista coffees, omelettes, fried eggs, sliced avocado, or oatmeal with your server.
The price is high of course, but cheaper than some of the other hotels in Sydney.
A couple times we had a server forget to bring a coffee we ordered, but not a big deal.
Fabulous food, friendly service, only too willing to accommodate my issues of gluten and dairy free diet. All done with a sense of humour and friendly smile. Will return.
Attended a Wedding at Bellevue Cottage. Pleasant cottage, nice outlook overlooking the water, city & Pyrmont Bridge. BUT the venue was not organised for the wedding despite the bride & groom dining at the Cottage twice before the wedding & sending numerous emails as well as phone calls to organise & confirm the date, time & dietary requirements of guests. On the day, the wedding planner & the MC helped set up tables & drinks outside while the staff set up the indoor tables. The food: The entree was a salmon or ???. The main meals were either a fish & mushroom pie or a rare steak and no dessert. (Either the dessert was not made or no time to serve & eat it) The wedding cake was distributed as a 'dessert' but we are still waiting for the special gluten free cake that was organised for some of the guests. Maybe as a dinner date the food would be better. The MC had to change the proceedings: several speeches had to be cut along with other planned activities. The bride & groom handled the situation well on the day but are still awaiting an apology & potentially compensation!
We were there for Mother’s Day celebration. They offered Gluten Free option kids meal. Food was nice and the atmosphere was to the point. Architect designed walls were also very pretty.
We had a family get together which had to cater to peoples with nut and gluten allergies.
Great choice! The food was great. Both the 2 or 3 courses options were excellent value. I was happy the owners were quick to answer my initial queries.
The roulet de poc … divine! Our party of 10 were all happy with their meals .

Love love love Cafe Lyon!!
The food is amazing and you can tell they put the utmost care in everything they make. As someone who is also gluten intolerant, they were very accommodating and I can't thank them enough for making the anniversary dinner with my partner really special. 💕
Billis cafe, is my go-to local coffee shop! The coffee is consistently amazing, that always hit the spot. What sets this place apart is their incredible selection of pastries—there's always something fresh and delicious to try. From lemon meringue cake my favourite, to muffin Gluten free brownie caramel slice tarts and if you get lucky they make GF cake as well , the variety is heaps! The staff are friendly, welcoming, and really knowledgeable about their baked goods. The barista always gives great recommendations, and I try almost everything, Whether you're grabbing a quick coffee and bake goods or staying for a meal, this place never disappoints. Big thumbs up.
Long black and lemon meringue tart today is perfect!
The gluten free souffle was too die for. The staff are super cool. The only complaint is that the souffle isn't a main, it's so delicious I'd love more.
disappointed as given the wrong food. asked about their gluten free options as i have coeliac disease, was handed a menu with gf options and double checked which sides were gf as well (bacon, sausage, hash brown). ordered gluten free scrambled eggs with these three sides after checking it was safe. when our meals came out i asked if mine was gluten free and they said “no it’s not”. they proceeded to take the meal away and prepare me a new one which i was happy enough to eat. the food was really nice and i do recommend, but just be careful if you have any allergies or intolerances to double check you have the correct meal. i hope this establishment improves this issue and training of staff as it can be really unsafe.
Absolutely delicious food. The coq au vin outstanding. The chicken tender and melting in the mouth. Had the good fortune of meeting the chef who has been cooking french cuisine for nearly thirty years. The sauce: pure reduction of stock - no flour added to thicken, so completely gluten-free as well. A great dining experience. Waitress was lovely..
Really appreciated the excellent service, great menu, and careful substitutions that were made to cater for my dietaries as someone with coeliac disease.
Great coffee, amazing pastries and excellent crepes. Had breakfast early Saturday morning. All the pastries were fresh out of the oven and the crepe was very wholesome. Specially because it is gluten free as it is made with buckwheat flour. Makes you feel less guilty. Would definitely recommend this to coffee and pastry lovers. So basically everyone.
Update: Find me better looking Eggs Benedict. I dare you. I bet they are going to taste better than they look.
Such a beautiful atmosphere, service and incredible food. The views are beautiful everywhere in the restaurant too.
My steak was cooked to perfection.
Hands down the best creme caramel I've ever eaten. The chocolate cake was beautiful and rich.
They catered very well to my gluten intolerant peers too.
Be sure you do pay the small parking fees to not ruin your experience as we saw the ranger multiple times.
Service was abysmal. Servers were not attentive, nor did they process orders right. Made a booking listing dietary requirements (gluten free and garlic) and was still served regular bread without question and then left before I could even ask if the bread was gluten free.
We ordered dinner and everything was fine until we received the food. When we asked what the sauce that came out with the meal was, the server freaked out, telling me I have a garlic allergy and took the meal away without even letting me speak. I can't eat garlic clove directly but can eat stuff cooked next to it but the server did not care and took away my 49$ meal and brought it back with just little bits of duck slices and french fries. All because the original potato was cooked next to some garlic...?
Extremely disappointing service.
Not to mention, the restaurant was hot, crammed, and reeked of burning oil from all the lamps on the tables. Ducting on the ceiling was leaking water onto floor in several places where customers were slipping on throughout the night.
Chef/s appear to be the only ones holding this place together.

Went with the missus for dinner. Extremely accommodating when it came to my celiac stuff (gluten free). Food and service were both amazing, thanks for the great night!
Had the most wonderful dinner! Food was scrumptious. Service was excellent! Waiters were so professional and accommodating. Catered well for those on Gluten Free diet. Excellent! I will be back
Disgusting food. They have no respect for their customers. My friend is celiac and they gave her food with gluten despite telling them. My boss is vegan and they gave her food with butter. They have no consideration whatsoever for people with dietary requirements or need. Worse place I have ever been. The chefs didn’t even apologised for the mistake. And after we expressed our needs they charged us $500 because they said we asked for extra stuff. Unbelievable. Worse people ever.
On holiday from England, we had both Great gluten free crêpes and lovely wheat crepes and it was so good we went back for seconds. Might go back for breakfast too! Coffee was nice, staff friendly. We asked for a gluten free galette with Nutella instead of cheese it was great. Also had one with cheese, great as well.
We had the best New Years Eve lunch. The food , such good value at $65 for 2 courses & the wine list is really varied. You must have the scallops & duck. They also make their own bread including gluten free for moi. BUT to top it off & what made it extra special was Nick the owner & Marcello. I am a Melbourne gal & I have never experienced such amazing intimate waiter service. I feel like we have made 2 more friends in Sydney.

Don't get me wrong the food was great. But they promised they were going to cook Coeliac friendly food and now I'm bloated as if I'm 9 months pregnant and puking.
So long story short.. go if you're not allergic as they clearly don't comply with cross contamination procedures.
Amazing food!! servers were very lovely and accomodating to my coeliac gluten free requirements. I felt very comfortable dining here and would highly recommend.
