The best gluten free pizzas I’ve had so far (and I’ve tried a lot). Delicious food and friendly service. Feels like a family run business, outdoor dining is nice and cool, indoor dining a bit warmer but you get to watch the pizza oven. Looking forward to going back.
AVOID! Red flags all around.
Food was extremely questionable and of no quality/ taste; I would still consider it a waste of money even with the cheap pricing. Meat patty was not of any quality, flavour or freshness; I'm fairly sure this was low grade sausage meat. Also even though this was the kids meal it consisted of a terrible patty, bad GF bun and tomato sauce with some chips. Pretty disappointing for a burger joint.
The 'GF' option meant the bun was the classic stale cardboard that ruins a meal BUT even worse, the chips which I enquired about to ensure were gluten free were most definitely NOT. I understand these options can be hard but as a health condition it is extremely important that allergies are handled seriously and properly disclosed, regardless of the taste or money.
Venue was not well maintained. The bathroom had a puddle of urine on the floor, bin overflowing with rubbish, insects flying around and no surface was clean. I walked past the storage area which seemed to have moisture, mold and dirt throughout and I can only hope there isn't actual food being stored there.
Sorry but I am unsure major improvements could save a place so far gone.
I guess the food was quick to come especially considering there was one person on staff but unfortunately nothing else good to note.
What an excellent restaurant! I booked Calico as we were going to a Saturday night show and wanted something within walking distance. It's always a bit of a stressful responsibility booking a new restaurant for a group, but we were all thrilled with the amazing menu and felt very looked after by the staff; Paul was an absolute delight! I had the Wild Shroom dish along with the Coco Loco smoothie and both were fantastic. Our entree was the pumpkin hummus, breads (including a gluten-free option) and burrata and it was all so tasty. Would highly recommend dining here and we'll 100% come back again! Thanks Calico!
Amazing food! From the perfect gluten free Reuben to world class black beans. Make sure you don't miss the gluten free Burnt Basque Cheesecake. Thank you Yami
I ordered through uber eats and very pleased with the burger and fries! They were both fresh. The vegetarian burger was yummy and the glutenfree bun was good.
Amazing. Our large group of 14 was perfectly catered for and unanimous in their praise of the delicious banquet, wonderfully efficient, well-informed and cheerful service, and terrific atmosphere.
Despite being a packed Friday night our drinks orders were taken almost as soon as we sat down and the first dishes arrived within minutes and kept coming, with great care taken to the particular needs of a few vegetarians/pescatarians and celiacs among us. Truly outstanding service.
The Redfern location has a great vibe about it, loads of bars & pubs just minutes away for pre-dinner drinks or to kick on afterwards. The restaurant itself is beautifully appointed with a great atmosphere but the highlight was the food, which was sensational.
Thanks to our host Enes and his team, particularly John and Imala, for a wonderful experience. We could not have asked for more and will definitely be back soon.
The food was beautiful, I loved the gluten free options, the chef was kind enough to offer us a complimentary dish and explained how it was cooked to ensure we had the option to take it. Great staff and service.
We have been to this wonderful restaurant twice now. We travel from Dural to go here. We are both gluten and dairy free and the staff provide changes to the menu items to suit our dietary needs. The meals taste divine. This time we had the mango chicken, lamb spinach and mixed vegetables. Couldn’t fault a thing. We will definitely keep coming back.
Nice place for a quick bite in Newtown - the staff were really helpful with making my order gluten free and coeliac safe. It's very much a takeaway joint rather than sit-down but I enjoyed the range of options and thought it was reasonably priced for the area!
We had the best New Years Eve lunch. The food , such good value at $65 for 2 courses & the wine list is really varied. You must have the scallops & duck. They also make their own bread including gluten free for moi. BUT to top it off & what made it extra special was Nick the owner & Marcello. I am a Melbourne gal & I have never experienced such amazing intimate waiter service. I feel like we have made 2 more friends in Sydney.

Just visited Evie’s for the first time and was seriously impressed! The scrambled eggs were perfectly creamy, and the gluten-free bread was some of the best I’ve had—crusty on the outside, soft inside. The coffee was smooth and full of flavour, and the service was warm and attentive from the moment we walked in. Can’t wait to go back and try more of the menu!
