Flint Crepe Company is a gem. Every crepe is made from scratch with fresh, locally sourced ingredients that you can actually taste. The coffee is top-notch sustainably grown in Costa Rica and roasted in-house. The menu is flexible and genuinely thoughtful, whether you're vegan, gluten-free, or a full-on carnivore. You can tell they care about quality and sustainability without compromising on flavor. Highly recommend.
Been living in the area for years and this place is amazing, I have eaten food from all over the US and outside the US and the quality of pestos food is on the top of my list! The shrimp bisque was amazing, creamy, lightly salted, and chunky! I had the Turkey BLT and didn’t need a thing! My wife got the Gluten Free Salmon and she loved it, and my mother in law got the stroganoff, again was amazing. The desert are all home made and are cheap for the size and taste amazing. Everything about this place was great! Will probably be back tomorrow😂
If you have food allergies do not go to this location. I was assured they had allergen training and could safely provide me a birthday meal.
The 1st red flag was the waitress was trying to tell me things were gluten free management confirmed weren’t. (I called ahead). The manager corrected the waitress.
I went ahead and ordered my gluten free meal. The person I was with does not have celiac disease and can have gluten. Their burger had lettuce on it. The only thing I had on mine was ketchup, mustard, (maybe pickle) and cheese. (To prevent cross contact) I was additionally told everything was grabbed from the back fresh for my meal.
Halfway through my meal, I found a piece of lettuce in my French fries.
This was extremely alarming considering nothing I ordered had lettuce, and all my food was supposed to have been taken from the back with fresh gloves, only prepared by 1 person trained in allergy safety.
The manager was told and here’s the 2nd red flag, well lettuce isn’t gluten.
While yes, I don’t have a reaction to the lettuce, How did that piece of lettuce get there if someone was properly sanitized and only handling my food? She had no answer. Unfortunately for me, that’s exactly what happened and I was ill from it. Someone was careless and was not careful with my food prep, handling gluten and then handling my “gluten free dish” which unknowingly to me was no longer gluten free. I did stop eating as soon as I saw the lettuce as the meal could not be trusted.
If they could not accommodate - they had more than enough time and warning to tell me. I spoke with the manager and asked her many questions before I even decided to come into the establishment.
I reached out to them to try and get in contact with the owner, it’s been 2 months and no response. I would not go here if you have food allergies of any kind.
The service and atmosphere are nice but as far as gluten free options go I wasn't impressed. Everything was pretty good other than the entree for me. It felt overpriced for what we got too.
Incredible gluten-free baked potatoes and other options! Shout out to Camron who helped my friend and I out and gave us the safety run-down for Celiac folk—theres a fully separate prep area in the back!
My husband and I stopped here in our travels from South Michigan up to North Michigan. We are vegan and I am gluten-free so it is challenging. And at home we mostly only eat organic.
We thoroughly enjoyed the marinara sauce. I got mine with the gluten-free pasta, which was a corn base and he had the usual wheat. We both had spaghetti and it was really delicious. I haven’t had spaghetti in several years now. It was a true cheat Since I only eat cooked food a few times a week. We added mushrooms and Broccoli (sorry no pic) and it was really divine. The sauce was a tiny bit too salty for me… I am trying to really cut back on my salt intake, so I used a little bit of lemon to break it down and it did taste better that way. The mushrooms and broccoli were done really nicely and kind of melted into the sauce. I will try this again in future in an Italian restaurant that has gluten-free pasta. I don’t eat out much due to my strict mostly raw vegan (heavy fruit) diet.
The service was pretty good. Not excellent as we told them we were vegan and then they served us butter with the bread. But I don’t hold that against because most people that are plant-based are vegetarians not vegan and the two diets often get confused. Vegans do not eat any part of the animal or byproduct of the animal And many of us do not eat insect excretions. Vegetarians will eat milk based products, including cheese, eggs from chicken and other foul, and a few other ingredients that are in personal care products.
The offerings are of gluten-free options and it's marked on the menu as to those items however free bread should never be toasted it's community toaster.
The offerings of gluten-free pancakes is also available I did have some discomfort after having eaten blueberries style pancakes, and shrimp and grits, but this could have been due to cross contamination from using the utensils that are shared or from an unclean grill before prepping the pancakes.
Overall the food quality is a great dining experience and my only suggestion would be simple understanding of gluten-free exposure reduction, not that difficult with simple measure of gloves swapping, utensils exchange, and surface area addressed by wiping or cleaning such as grill or section area of grill for gluten free grilled cheese toasting and pancakes.
I need gluten and dairy free which, as you can imagine, makes finding pizza difficult to say the least. My gf/df pizza was fantastic! Good amount of toppings on the pizza and to select from. My fellow diners, who consumed regular style pizza also enjoyed theirs. The picture is only half cause I almost forgot to take one.
Celiac gluten free friendly food. It was so very good and the staff was amazing!! I didn't get sick afterwards and the gentleman working was very knowledgeable about what I could and couldn't have. He even made suggestions to make my food taste even better!
This place was amazing! I’m not one to post reviews, but I had to take the time and let the public know how awesome Mongolian Flint is! I haven’t been to a Mongolian in years especially because I have food allergies (gluten and dairy). If you’re looking for a wonderful night out to dinner with friends or family I highly recommend this place. The playful interaction among the staff and how welcoming they are to the customers makes a comfortable environment for everyone. Our waitress took the time to explain how they accommodate those with food allergies and had me take my self-prepped dish up to the back kitchen window where the chef and assistants took over to ensure a safe and delicious meal for me to enjoy! While I sat at our table and waited for my dish to be prepared I couldn’t help but notice how kind the staff was. One waitress took extra special attention to the children at her tables. She was so sweet to this little girl at the table next to us.. commenting on how much she liked her outfit and how she coordinated everything perfectly! That little girl was beaming with gratitude for the kindness she experienced! The joy that waitress brought around the dining room was such gift to all involved and all who witnessed. The assistant chef brought my dish to our table and not only made sure I had all that I needed, he also took the time to tell our table to have a blessed day! Everyone’s food turned out fantastic! 😊 The host and bar tender even addressed each other with friendly banter as they crossed paths while hustling about their work. Then I saw the manager come out of the kitchen and briefly walk around to check on the customers and his overall staff! I’ve never seen a manager walk around and check on his staff like that “how ya doing?” “Everything going good here?” …and he addressed each one by name. 👍🏼 I know that restaurants can get very busy and there isn’t a lot of time for interactions, but that quick check-in affirmed that this was a special team of employees and this management clearly values their workers. I was so impressed with Mongolian BBQ in Flint that I plan to recommend it not only as a great place to dine, but it also appears to be a great place to work! As a local college instructor, you bet I’ll be sharing about my experience with my students and colleagues! Thanks for being a great representation of how dining can be in the city of Flint! 😊
Love the gluten free pizza. One of the best I have tried. Thank you for having gluten free options on your menu.. We came in with about 10-12 people. Service was phenomenal, very attentive and friendly..
Gluten free sandwich is good here. Could be a but better. But works for me, especially bc this town doesn't have a ton of options. Haven't tried the pizza.
Wait staff were friendly, very helpful with gluten-free options, and we love the take-home add-ons! Felt they chose a table close to the wait staff entrance wasn't my first second or third table choice, unless you don't mind hearing the wait staff noises and loud discussions..
My family is Canadian, and it was our first time in one of your stores. My daughter announces that she has severe dairy and gluten allergy, only to be met with - the worker removing their gloves, telling us what the process is for herself to prepare for this order, sanitizing the entire work space, washing her hands, AND has thorough product knowledge to help us out! Someone who knows how to do their job correctly! Great job Chipotle management on training your employees how to properly handle these types of situations. Oh, and food quality? It did exceed our expectations, so because we have limited options at times, this is a place we know we can trust. Thanks again for a positive first experience!
This is my go to vegan spot in flint! Delicious gluten free baked goods are a must, the samosas are a staple and the Indian curry bowl is one of my go tos.
Very surprised. Ordered burger no buns (no gluten free options) and the triple burger was delicious! Well seasoned. Out of all the bun-less burgers I've had this was the best. Fries weren't costed in that breading either. So all I had to worry about was cross contamination. (Had pills for that). Will be back.
A very fun place to enjoy a family birthday celebration. The chefs were excellent, and entertained while cooking with some humor. The food was very good. Many gluten free items to pick from. Reservations are encouraged with a bigger group or even a smaller one. It's a very busy place. The service staff were very nice and helpful.
My partner and I stopped here randomly after arriving to MI from CO. The food was great!! Old school diner vibes with a tasty burger and milkshake. I recently had to go gluten free and they had a good GF bread option which I was super grateful for.
If you’re looking for a cozy and welcoming space to find community this is it! The staff are all so friendly and so are all the patrons. They have a wide selection of fun wines, drinks and non alcoholic beverages. Even the food menu is inclusive with vegan options and gluten free options. love love love this place.
On 8/15/2024 I had a great experience with employee Kamaya (fairly sure that was her name). I have a severe gluten allergy and she was excellent and receptive when I placed my order. She correctly marked the allergy, ensured the order was correct, and even personally walked the order inside from the drive thru. Food was great and fresh; grilled chicken sandwich (gf bun), waffle fries, and lemonade. I will definitely be back as I didn’t get sick at all due to her caution. I appreciate you, thanks again!
There gluten free pizza is the closest thing you'll find ANYwhere to real fluffy wheat pizza dough. I am beyond excited and impressed with the quality of their gluten free pizza. Thank you Hungry Howie's!
