Amazing customer service, people were extremely nice and friendly. Food was good and had excellent choices for vegan and gluten free, allergy friendly menu items. Not super expensive either, which is a huge plus so I can come here more regularly.
Only leaving 4 stars because of the water having salt/minerals* and they had to remake my friend’s vegan tacos. Also would add that my mocktail was mostly ice… They were really good about providing allergen free laminated menus with notes.
*Suggestion to restaurant, I know other people have commented about the water. It probably would have been a 5 stars if not for water quality. It just was a gritty tap like taste.
(FYI water snobs in Madison, RED has the best free water served in restaurants)
They cannot do the cheese curds gluten free, but pretty much all the other fried food they can.. These gluten free onion rings were so delicious. Staff was friendly attentive. I sat in the bar on a Saturday and they were on top of it. If ever back in Madison I'd go back!
Both times I've been there, they've had great food, great service, and a fun atmosphere. Gluten-free buns are always available, and they have a designated fryer to avoid cross contamination.
First time here, and I was very satisfied with the El Papí sampler and the Lomo Saltado a Caballo (center)paired excellently with a glass of Malbec. My fellow lunch party also enjoyed their meals. They had the Parrilla Callejera (left) and La Taguara Burger (right). They have plenty of gluten-free options as well. Will return again.
amazing food! lovely atmosphere - upbeat and wowing decor. an amazing array of beers wines and bloody mary’s as well.
if you come, start with the traditional frites (fries) and blackened garlic ranch aioli sauce - fantastic!
plus for anyone that is gluten free or celiac they have a dedicated gluten free menu - woo hoo!
Despite my having told our server that I wanted the gluten-free flatbread, he brought out sandwich bread. He then put the correct order in, but I had to ask him to follow up. When he brought it, it had been baked too long.
Also, the menus don't have GS notations to help me know what is safe for me to eat. I had to literally insist that the server check with the kitchen (in response to his "It should be fine" answer when I asked about the entree that I was considering).
Not the best experience I've ever had at Cento.
We love coming to Glass Nickel! One of our favorite things to do is the Family Friendly Improv show on Saturdays. Their Gluten free Pizza crust is decent!
First time there and staff Jesus was very awesome, welcoming with explaining how the ordering routine worked. Was with friend and we tried both of the gluten-free crust pizzas and both were delicious. Will be back!
I love this place. They have such good food and service. I am now gluten free and just tried their gf pizza and it’s so good. They have great vegan sausage also! Of course they have all the cheese and regular crust also
Went to get a gluten-free sandwich and was impressed by the variety of drinks and sides. I had a very generously portioned Rachel. The coleslaw was delicious. I would go back.
My girlfriend has a gluten intolerance allergy but was curious to try a concrete for the first time, knowing there was a risk of cross contamination but being willing to risk it. We told the drive-through opperator that she had a gluten allergy, and they checked the ingredients for us and marked the order on the sign with a gluten (wheat) allergy flag. When we pulled up to the window, the nicest employee gave us a number and warned us that it would be a few minutes because... they cleaned the blenders, the tools to mix and scoop, and even the extruder. This level of service at a fast food restaurant is unparalleled even compared to Chick-fil-A! We will be visiting other locations in the future with hopes of equal service!
Great food with gluten free options. Incredible farm to table burgers, locally sourced. Fabulous drink selection. The patio is lovely! The parking is difficult so give yourself a bit more time.
Fantastic place to eat for a good price, too! Good amount of options, has plenty of variety for those who are gluten free and/or vegetarian, and overall you get a decent portion for the price you pay, a rare sight on State Street.
Great allergy options! Very impressive for this Gluten and Fod Map free gal! Would really like to see a menu in Spanish, at least online. I have a hard time finding the menus at this place. I think they could place them somewhere more obvious. Sometimes service is rock star, other times it is a 4 star. Parking is a real issue for when I try to visit. I think I would go more if I could figure that out.
The best falafel you’ll find in Madison. Super accommodating for gluten allergies, speedy pick up service, and amazing and kind staff. My partner and I weren’t sure about how much food would be in the falafel platter so we ordered more falafel on the side. The platter came with SIX (6) falafel!!!! So we got to enjoy the extra side as a delicious lunch the next day. So happy to have The Mediterranean Joint in the neighborhood!!
Happy our experience at Merchant was as wonderful as usual. We had friends from out of town visiting and wanted to show off Madison's food scene. Cocktails were top notch as was the wine I chose with my meal. I ordered the squash risotto which was excellent, even better than expected. Our table of 8 enjoyed the cheese curds and everyone loved their entrees, including the whitefish, chorizo verde and fried chicken sandwich. The desserts were delicious and our gluten and dairy intolerant guest was thrilled with the chocolate brownie dessert, as was the rest of the table. A great success all around.
Not the Weary I knew and loved anymore. I took my son out for dinner and I went home hungry. We both ordered the bad breath Burger, My son ordered his medium rare and I ordered mine well done with a gluten-free bun.
We waited an hour for our food and when it arrived My son’s Burger was cooked well done and mine came with a regular bun instead of gluten-free, my son decided to eat the burger as is, they took my burger back to remake it and put it on a gluten-free Bun. When I got my burger, it was rare not well done like I ordered. It also only had a very thin slice of cream cheese, not the quarter inch slice that it used to have. Definitely not the Bob’s bad breath Burger I remember And loved. At this point, we had been there for an hour and a half and my son had another engagement to go to so we needed to leave. They offered To make my burger again Or give me a refund, I took the refund. The greens were also wilted and didn’t have dressing on them. I Will not be back, this makes me sad but the new Management just isn’t measuring up.
They have a good atmosphere for meeting with coworkers after work. However, their menu and food handling does not cater well to those with dietary restrictions. If you cannot eat gluten, you will likely have to deal with cross contamination here.

Disappointed in the gluten free options. I ordered my meal gluten free and received what looked like white bread. $2 extra for toast? Pretty expensive meal for absolutely nothing.
.
My friends’ food looked good, though.
Fisrt time back in a long time. Went for the gluten free food. Success. Busy as alway and have to wait to sit. Most of the time. Food great. Sevice very good. Limited parking.
I decided to get takeout from Tavernakaya because they popped up as a place I could get gluten free fried rice. To make fried rice gluten free, usually the only modification needed is to swap out the traditional soy sauce for gluten free soy sauce, tamari, or coconut aminos. However, after digging into my fried rice, I discovered that their way of making it gluten free was simply to omit any seasoning at all. It was so bland. I ended up heading over to the nearest grocery to grab some tamari to make my leftovers palatable. By saying that you will cater to the gluten free crowd but then just making a dish devoid of any seasoning or character seems like a cop out - might be better just to not offer it at all.
This was my 2nd time here. Great service! Decent happy hour deals. Flavorful Margaritas. Try the huckleberry! Such a variety for Taco options. You order them individually. I got 2 and they were delicious and filling.
The menu is labeled if you need vegetarian, gluten free, etc.
The have patio seating outside on State Street. It wasn't set up the day we were there.
The gluten free crust was delicious and I watched the folks working change their gloves when they were handling my pizza to prevent cross contamination. It’s a bit of an awkward wait (longer than you’d expect), and I wouldn’t recommend eating at the tables inside unless the weather is poor. Go outside and enjoy the view!
The decor was very cool. Atmosphere was bar and grill. Typical of what they were offering. The shareable cod tacos where excellent! I'm not impressed with the smoked half chicken. It was so dry it was almost unedible. I was disappointed, but I love the masked tators and red-eye gravy. Bonus part, it was gluten-free. Also, they offered Redbridge Gluten Free beer, but the server was rude and was not that attentive. When i said, "Oh yeah, Red Bridges is good. And i was excited cause not many places offered it. His comment was its okay." Im thinking, wow, maybe you should be trying to tell me this beer, not try to change my mind! And he couldn't get the drinks straight. He may have been new or learning. But not a good salesman. The rest of the staff was nice. Everyone else enjoyed their food. It's definitely a place I will return if I'm in the area.
The prices are average for being what is essentially a sushi place. They allow you to mix and match your own bowls, they have some gluten-free options, and their in-house tea is amazing. Parking is also available.
They have great curbside service and hands down the best gluten free crust we’ve ever had. To top off the experience they finish the order when you are five minutes out so the pizza is hot when you get it! Genius
I've been a Pizza Pit fan since the 80's. I've been living in Vegas for the last 7+years and recently went home for a visit. I can't tell you how freaking excited I was when they were out of their small gluten free crust and informed me that they were giving me the larger one. I don't know if they are in house made or what but when I move home there will be no other pizza love going on here other than pizza pit. I got an extra pepperoni extra cheese and onions. It was the most delicious thing I've had in a while on the pizza tip. They are so friendly helpful and informative on the phone AND the delivery is super speedy even when they are swamped. I yuv dems! Eat here! You won't regret it!
2nd time here and great service again. Server (named Claire) was knowledgeable about allergens and was able to share that almost have the menu was gluten free (no pasta substitute). The steak may be the best I’ve had in my life! Only wish parking was clearer- we found after that you can park in the parking garage and they will redeem parking at the host stand
