Went here for gluten free options, prices on most things (while higher than Walmart) are fairly comparable to Hy-vee or a few cents more. They did have fancy scanning shopping carts which are neat but it's unlikely I'd shop here if I wasn't trying a gluten free diet.
Makes me sad to have to write kind of a bad review but here I am. I drive over and hour to get my groceries at natural grocers in Lincoln. I spend alot of money there as my diet is gluten and dairy free & I’m a nutritionist. Ever since they switched the light bulbs in the store, it’s WAY too bright and sets off my migraines and I get dizzy so I have to stop shopping there. Most people with chronic illness prefer to shop at natural grocers for healing purposes but when you put strong LED lights that are blinding in your store, it is not good for those who struggle with health issues. Please consider going back to the lights you had before. For now I have to go to Whole Foods :(
Hy-Vee is a great store. Sure, it can be a little pricey, but that's only if you don't know the secrets. 🙂
Shop on Wednesday and you get wellness discounts on a lot of items.
The sales they have are really good.
My family especially appreciates the Gluten free and Dairy free selections they have. It is a well marked and stocked section in this particular store.
I have been a long time Trader Joe's customer after discovering them in Menlo Park, California. When this Lincoln location opened, our family was thrilled! The service is incredible; it is the company culture. The prices are reasonable. The gluten-free chocolate muffins are delicious, even if you don't need to eat gluten-free! Their financial structuring (long leases, cash business vs. debt, etc.) means we as customers benefit. I wish all companies had this level of service, quality, and integrity.
Hy-Vee has gourmet foods and huge cheese selection, and have a whole isle of gluten-free items. Fresh fruits and veggies. Weekly sales...so look at the ad.
So being lactose intolerant and preferring no gluten this is my go to grocery store in Omaha. 1) clean and nice to shop in 2) great selection of food 3) friendly staff
It is expensive though.
Love this Hy-Vee, I was a bit disappointed they didn't carry Bob's Red Mill gluten-free bread mix. Such a wonderful produce selection and a large meat department,
I love the wide selection at Hy-Vee (especially for gluten free and sensitive stomach friendly options), but all of their stores are always extremely overwhelming and overstimulating to me even as a low-support needs autistic person. Wider isles, lower lighting, foot traffic paint/signs and easier to navigate selections would help a lot.
Love shopping here......they have the freshest produce....and mostly organic....and I go for dairy free and gluten free groceries......Cashiers are very nice!!!

Late Latte: When I visit a new city on a trip, business trip in this case, I love exploring to get a vibe of the place.
Being that I am obsessed with coffee, and had been exploring the RiverFront/Downtown, I wanted to find a local shop for a late latte to-go.
Imagine how very happy I was to see Godega was open late. Elated by the rare favorite a Rose Oat Latte 🌹 and grabbed a locally made, gluten free, protein rich - O’Cookie’O 🍩 - for the drive home.
*I added this to my favorites and will be sure to stop back in next time I am in town. 🌹☕️
Wonderful place with great food made fresh. I got the meatball sandwich and it felt it was homemade. She was incredibly nice and accommodating, even offered to make the tacos gluten free for my wife. It’s well worth your time and money to eat here!
I recently had a wonderful experience at the U Stop located on 73rd Street, all thanks to the exceptional service provided by the lady behind the counter.
I ordered my usual breakfast burrito but hesitantly asked if it was possible to swap the flour wrap for something gluten-free. Without any hesitation, she gladly accommodated my request and suggested a no-flour-baked masterpiece option (My Words), which turned out to be delicious and satisfying.
Not only was she accommodating, but her warmth and friendliness made the entire interaction memorable. Her willingness to go above and beyond to ensure my satisfaction, truly made my morning.
The baked masterpiece she recommended was bursting with flavor, and I enjoyed it thoroughly. Encounters like these make me appreciate the attention to detail and commitment to service by this wonderful lady at U Stop.
Just found out my son is gluten & dairy free. I wish they would have that kind of stuff in one section of the store. Tired of going thru the whole store.
They treat me so nice , when there were certain brands of food I needed for my mom who was 96 with celiacs disease, which means she can't have any red dye or anything with wheat etc. Etc. If they didn't have it there they would order it for me and not just only that stuff. I asked a couple of different times for a different creamer or a certain brand of coffee and go there the next week and it'd be there. I always get help without even having to ask and they all seem to enjoy their work that they make having to do a chore , because I hate shopping but going there they make me feel like it was worth the trip and they always help me whether I ask them or not. Thank you to all you hard workers out there. You are appreciated
