John and June are incredible. They do wizardry level magic with baking and you never think of their stuff as “gluten free” - you just think of it as the best you’ve ever tasted.
One of the few restaurants my celiac boyfriend still trusts. However, he got sick 2 times by the cross-contamination. They are not the most careful staff so you have to make sure they understand how severe your celiac disease is and explain to them NO CROSS CONTAMINATION NO GLUTEN and they're usually pretty good. Also good with take outs
Our server Kaitlin was very nice and accommodated our gluten free request! The seafood linguine was very good too. Lobster was a little tasteless but the salmon and shrimp was delicious. Nice atmosphere too, would go again!!
Great customer service. We are both gluten free, and the person making out food was very thorough and kind! The food tastes amazing as a plus. The plus was fairly clean as well
Wow, just wow. I didn't think I'd ever find a good gluten free crepe, but low and behold, Empire Crepe exists. I've tried many different crepes with all different types of batter and they all have had a gritty texture or a taste that was starkly gluten free. Not Empire Crepe. Next time I drive through Kelowna (or anywhere nearby) I will make sure that Empire Crepe is one of the stops I make!
Visited on a beautiful sunny Sunday afternoon. He had the Baron of Beef and I had the butter chicken. Because of my allergies to gluten and fish, I always ask a lot of questions before I order. I could have had any burger on a gluten free bun. I have had the spiced jamb burger in past and it is quite lovely. Today the butter chicken was a nice mild lunch choice. I love the addition of peas and tiny tomatoes to the sauce which burst in your mouth as you eat them. When my food arrived, I was about to hand over the naan bread to my husband but our server informed us it was cauliflower!! It had a nice sea salt finish and there was so much of it I had to bring it home to munch on later.
We had the Okanagan Iced Tea to drink.
When the bill came, I noted we were not charged extra for the gluten free "naan bread" which was a really pleasant surprise.
Overall a satisfying experience.
*Note: this is a dog friendly patio, they even have a dog menu so you can order your furry friend a treat*
Decent breakfast in Kelowna. They have a ton of options. They are famous for the giant pancakes pannakoek. They make savoury and sweet ones. And they even have gluten free option. They usually seem to be understaffed and food and service can be very slow on the weekends. The staff are always super friendly. Food is usually pretty good. I do enjoy the options for sides. Cute little spot.
Delicious omelettes.
Another win for Celiac-challenged diners! The Keg Kelowna has always provided a great gluten-free experience. Management personally comes to the table to acknowledge my Ceiliacness, lol, and the staff are keenly aware of cross-contamination issues. The shrimp cocktail (large and fresh), steak (always cooked to perfection), twice baked potatoes {omg!!), margaritas (get the Keg size, lol), and creme brulee (mini or regular sized) are all delish. I never worry when I eat there, and that's saying a lot for someone with Celiac. Bravo once again! And it's fun to dine in the outside covered area during winter with the heaters on, just sayin.

I enjoyed the food and service was good. Food came out quickly for a busy Saturday night. I am disappointed that restaurants take advantage of people with Celiac disease. I understand that gluten free food cost more however typically gluten free options remove items to make it gluten free so I feel like this should balance the cost out. Also, if you tell customers they can sub something then the cost to do so should be advised before the customer orders. They were going to charge me $3.75 for a ceaser salad without croutons and $2.75 for gluten free bun. I will say the gluten free bun is really good. At the end the manager did remove the upgraded cost which I appreciated however I probably will not be back as the cost to be able to eat gluten free is excessive.
Haven't had anything bad from here yet, unfortunately, only giving 3 stars as they offered gluten free bun options for some of their sandwiches which is what made them a go-to for myself, and made them stand out from others in regards to food, now they abruptly do not offer this option any longer and figure that the few, mediocre gluten free snacks that are available are an appropriate alternative.
One of the best gluten free pizzas I’ve ever had. Excellent crust, loads of flavour, so tasty. Super chill spot, cider options and a gluten free beer on tap too. Very pleased overall!
What a great business idea! Not only did I get an amazing Pilates class, but I had the option of a bunch of high protein, gluten free, delicious treats! The owner of this business is so friendly and knowledgeable, and my class was exactly as described. The studio was clean and the booking was easy. I highly recommend this Pilates studio & cafe.
It's always busy and the food is normally really good. There are some gluten free menu items and their new glutenwise pizza crust is pretty good for those who need it. I like to omit items from my choice because of my preferences and they usually get it right. The servers are always so nice and attentive. Good place to eat.
Food was good, service was excellent
! Carly was our server this evening. She was efficient, kind, and knowledgeable on the menu. She helped make necessary recommendations and accommodations for my sisters gluten allergy. Would 100% recommend!
Very friendly staff. Delicious food!!! Really good gluten free options. They forgot our toast, but it's okie. More than enough food. Good portion sizes.
If you had asked me a year and a half ago I would have given rustic reel 5 stars - I don’t want to complain about it because it’s an amazing atmosphere and I can really tell the owners put a lot of care into it and I really want to love it, because we used to love it so much but some changes have taken place that I would want to know about if I was the owners - although it’s stilll such a cool atmosphere I want to explain why we have stopped going in hopes to see changes so we can come back soon . My husband and o used to go literally every couple weeks we loved it there - then they shut the previous coffee shop - the local chemist inside - my husband is a coffee snob extraordinaire and the local chemist was hands down the best coffee in Kelowna . When they shut it and replaced it with a different coffee shop the coffee became subpar at best - it’s very basic coffee - they Went from an excellent product to a much lower quality - it’s clear the same knowledge about coffee is just not there - it was disappointing and we stopped really going because bright jenny’s is around the corner and does have amazing coffee and there’s another great brewery around the corner with live music . The pull to come in all the time and have coffee a lunch and cider was done - What rustic reel had though that stayed with me was the best gluten free chicken sandwich in town and an amazing plum basil cider - sadly they no longer have the cider due to bc tree fruit closing so they have an apple cider like everyone else and they changed the gluten free chicken sandwich - it’s no longer made with the same gluten free bread it’s made with a bun now that is neither that good and where the actual chicken doesn’t fit it - they took something special and made it not work . We went today and the chicken just wasn’t nearly as good as it used to be either and the bun was really disappointing - quite dry , and to be honest I wouldn’t order it again because of this change (though the fingerling potato’s are still a 10/10!) While I will always love rustic reel and their community vibe and great atmosphere these little changes probably have made it so we will be once a year visitors as opposed to every couple weeks… I hope they make some changes as we do love the atmosphere but honestly the big draws are gone for us and the service today took so long for them to even acknowledge us which didn’t help ! We are cheering for you rustic reel and hope to see some positive changes so next time we come back we will be drawn into becoming regulars again ! Best of luck ! You can do this ! Kindest regards
We visited for a special birthday dinner. This restaurant has a strict 19+ policy and lists the dress code as Business Casual.
Because I have food sensitivities and allergies, I emailed in advance to ask for menu suggestions. This restaurant is very allergy aware. They were able to make suggestions for me with no gluten, no fish, no mushrooms. I heard a diner at another table say she was allergic to onions and they had no trouble helping her.
Our server was very attentive and ran the dining room like she owned it.
Our party started with the cheese board and added charcuterie of locally made sausage. They built our cheese board with house made gluten free crackers. Sorry, no photos, ate too quickly.
We had the duck breast, medium rare. Because there is mushroom in all of the jous I had mine without and it was still fabulous. Also because I was concerned about cross contamination in the fryer, my potato croquettes were pan fried, my husband's were deep fried. You can see the difference in the photos.
For dessert I had the creme brule which comes with a shortbread cookie. I had no trouble finding someone at my table to eat the cookie. The creme brule had sour cherry at the bottom and was delicious. It was all delicious.
Thrilled to finally get Ethiopian food in Kelowna! Excellent Injera flat bread (made from 100% gluten-free Teff flour), delicious Tikil Gomen (savory cabbage) and yummy Chicken Tibs! Lovely, warm people! And you can eat outside in the park, by the lake! Try it!

Accompanied a friend to grab something to eat and she said for $3, they had a decent cheese pizza. They also had pesto, meat lover's, pepperoni, mediterranean and a chicken option along with a few others that looked much more layered with amazing veggies & meat. They also have gluten free crust & plant based cheese options!
You have option to buy by the slice or full pizzas, chicken wings, cheese bread and a variety of beverage options (a selection of pop, energy drinks, water, juice and beer).
It's a convenient, quick stop if you need something on the fly.

Highly recommend if you want homestyle cooking, don't want to eat take out all the time, don't like doing dishes, work full time at work and are chronically exhausted. This family owned business offers healthy and delicious meals, with speedy delivery. I ordered enough food to last my husband and I for a week, and after submitting my order around 8am, it was delivered the same day around 11am! Spoke to a staff member on the phone to inquire and they were very friendly. They also have many gluten free options!

Their food is delicious as always. Just wish they would get a separate fryer for cactus cuts so I and other people with Celiac could still enjoy them. Cactus cut were always a favorite before having dietary restrictions.
We had such an amazing time at the office! Our server Stasia went above and beyond! I have a gluten allergy and she was so helpful in helping choose my drinks and food! We will definitely be coming back!
Had a great evening at Born to Shake. The food was fantastic and the drinks were incredible, and the staff and owners were Superb! For us having so many gluten-free options was great. . Will definitely return.
Every time I stay at the coast Capri hotel in Kelowna, I have breakfast at Vintners. The staff are very friendly. The food is consistently great. They have quite a few options for breakfast and brunch. They also have a coffee bar. They also are extremely accommodating for allergies, and offer many gluten free options. They also have great happy hour and live music on certain days. Definitely worth checking out when you’re in the area. The pool side service in the summer time is also a great option.
I would give 10 stars to service instead of 5. The guy at the counter was so nice and polite that my wife and I got surprised. My wife is celiac, so it was great to find someone so friendly and helpful about that.
Keep the good work 🙏🏻
Highly recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
