Had high hopes for Sebastien Sans Gluten after hearing great things, but my visit on 7/6/25 was pretty underwhelming.
I picked up a meat pie, sausage roll, cheese pastry, and a loaf of bread. The cheese pastry was alright, but the rest were a letdown.
Bread: Really undercooked in the middle – sticky and doughy – with a super hard crust. It was hard to even slice, and you could see the sticky dough clinging to the knife and edges.
Pie & Sausage Roll: Both had undercooked pastry. The pie filling was decent, but the sausage roll was odd – strange texture, not much flavour except fennel, and just not enjoyable.
Altogether it came to just over $50, which felt steep for the quality. Left pretty disappointed and won’t be going back.
cute Japanese gluten free cafe
Loved their vege tempura noodles! Really fresh ingredients and clear but flavorful broth
They also have mochi, donuts, sushi rolls, onigiris to choose from
Delicious food in a great location for our lunch stop on the way to Canberra. We chose to stop at Truly Free Bakehouse becuase my mum is a Celiac. The rest of the family thought we'd be making a sacrifice for her enjoyment at a 100% GF bakery, but we were WRONG. It was snitzel burgers all round and they came out quickly, steaming hot, crisp and mouth-wateringly scrumptious. As a gluten eater I couldn't tell the bun, crispy and light, was gluten-free. The snitzel was perfection. Honestly. One of the best ever. AND... they didn't over do the mayonnaise. We paid $13.5 for each and the size was generous and sensibly cut in half for easy consumption. My mum couldn't resist picking up a raspberry and white chocolate muffin for the road and was pleasantly surprised that it was also one of the best ever, even compared to gluten ones. Plenty of seating, friendly staff, and so much choice for people who usually have very little. Thanks Truly Free Bakehouse for existing and bringung joy to our lives and our tastebuds.
As a Celiac, I was very pleased to read of this place and made the long drive out there. I was not disappointed
Huge selection of frozen GF foods and the lady there had my pre-ordered foods ready when I arrived
Whilst I haven't yet tried most of what I purchased, I did eat the Gf sausage roll and it was far better than I expected (delicious and pastry fabulous - which is very hard to find in GF options)
Friendly and very helpful lady behind the counter and the young man working was so kind as to help my elderly aunt up from her seat when he saw she was struggling
Highly recommend this place and will definitely be back
So many gluten free pastry options! I tried the chocolate croissant, almond crossaint, Portuguese tart and cinnamon swirl, hey we’re all very tasty. The prices have increased since the previous photos so I included those.
They are dear, but worth it in my opinion.
The burgers are always fresh, flavorful, and perfectly crafted. The fact that they offer gluten-free options is a huge plus—so great to have a delicious and inclusive menu. The service is friendly and efficient, and the atmosphere is always welcoming.
A beautiful little cafe with beautiful staff!! We had an amazing Brekky (gluten free catered for, it was above and beyond!) and coffee, and were greeted by the most lovely staff. I was super excited to discover all the gluten free sweet treats they had to offer, so obviously had to get some to take away! Will be back next time we are in Jindabyne! Thanks guys xx
Gluten free fish was decent, but fish and chips served undersalted and with a tiny wedge of lemon.
Far bigger complaint in the 45 minute wait when others that ordered well after us walked out with their food. We followed up twice on our order before it finally came out.
I had the pleasure of trying this gluten-free fish cocktail, and I must say—it exceeded expectations in every way. Each bite-sized piece was perfectly golden and crisp, boasting a light and airy batter that didn’t feel heavy or greasy. The fish inside was tender, flaky, and fresh, offering a delightful contrast to the crunchy coating.
What impressed me most was how well-executed the gluten-free batter was—it held its structure beautifully and didn’t compromise on flavor or texture. Whether you’re gluten-intolerant or just exploring healthier alternatives, this fish cocktail is a total win. Great as a snack, appetizer, or party platter favorite!
Highly recommended for anyone looking for a delicious and inclusive seafood treat.
Absolutely love this place. Everything is completely gluten free, and lots of things are also vegan-friendly. The veg pies are my favourite (and I'm saying that as someone who can eat regular pastry with gluten - these are still the best). I'm slowly making my way through the menu and everything is delicious. The owner and staff are the nicest people too. Highly recommended!
Been going here for years now. Always a nice place to be. Tonight I took my little kids who also love it. (Their request in fact)
Mostly gluten free which is a huge win for me. Great selection of drinks.
Good for any occasion.
Love your work team (:
I was looking for a cozy café and happened to stumble upon Belle Central. The decor and atmosphere immediately appealed to me. I tried a dandy latte, which I had never had before, and a piece of salted caramel. Delicious, and the service was pleasant as well. The selection of sugar-free and gluten-free options is perfect for me. I would love to come back.
After 10+ years of coeliac disease and being a pizza lover it has taken me this long to find a pizza base that I can enjoy . Trying everything available only to be bitterly disappointed , Bakery 43 pizza bases are the best I personally have had.
The muffins are awesome as well
I recently ordered some vegan / gluten free cupcakes for a birthday celebration & could not be happier with them. From the process of ordering online to picking them up & the presentation, I will definitely be using The Green Bakery again.
No Bones is a beautiful outdoors, covered restaurant. The dining experience is fantastic with friendly staff, fantastic cocktails and delicious food. The menu is creative with bright flavours. They were super accommodating to my dietary requirements, catering for Coeliacs and even had a gluten free fryer. We left perfectly satisfied and are already looking forward to our next visit.
Such a fun burger place. I was a little skeptical at first that they could prevent cross contact here but they have an open kitchen and I watched the whole process. They changed their gloves. Cleaned off the flat grill (although they don't put any buns on it anyway). The fries are also safe and cooked in a dedicated fryer.
Gluten free options!! Dedicated gf fryer for a few options like chips (which were perfect) and others like calamari etc. There are gf burger options too, I went with the soft sheel crab burger. Buttermilk crab fried whole on a gf bun with salad and thousand island. Really tasty, not too salty, perfect mix of meaty and crunch. Thanks guys for doing gluten free options and being coeliac friendly and aware.

Food is so good & fresh, staff are all lovely & chill, the guy who served us (think the manager?) is just awesome. Does his job really well. Thanks guys we’ll be back! Also SO AWESOME the gluten free fried chicken. Real chicken & done in olive oil. Amazing & delicious.
Had an absolutely amazing time here with delicious food and great service! My mum is coeliac and it's so hard to find places that take the proper precautions when dealing with gluten free food, but the staff were beautiful and went above and beyond to make sure her meal was safe, as well as having a variety of foods available. I had the schnitzel burger and it was fantastic, and we look forward to going again soon!
Really went out of their way to get us out of trouble with a gluten free cake. We got what we needed on time when we dropped the ball organising a birthday. It was amazing service and the cake was outstanding! Don't look past this place if you need gluten free options. Gem of a find.
Sensational pizza (gluten free to accommodate m’lady) with delicious ingredients. Service was so friendly and accommodating. And how can you beat corkage free booze from the wine shop next door. Thanks for great experience Hamish and Alex.
This is the best cafe for coeliacs in Nelson Bay. Best eggs Benedict I’ve ever had. Southern style chicken burger and wagyu burger were both amazing - just remove the fries as they aren’t gluten free. Tons of gluten free options for Brekky and lunch on the menu. Staff is great / knowledgeable about coeliac restrictions and even better - the chef is coeliac. Also make sure to get any gluten free sweets they have - we tried the blueberry muffin, date & walnut bread, & coconut raspberry bread - all incredible and you can’t even tell it’s gluten free. Can’t wait to come back here!
Had a lovely brekky/brunch with a celiac friend. Heaps of options for them and delicious options for me. The serving of corn fritters was huge, nourishing and delicious! Despite the cafe absolutely heaving, service was friendly and prompt. Lovely family vibe with kids helping serve and clean up and guests being offered in house coffee blends. Will definitely return!
MID
Overall, we had a mixed experience – some dishes were delicious, but several service and food issues kept the evening from being truly special.
• Tasty mains: The lamb (with potatoes) was absolutely delicious and cooked perfectly.
• Great gluten-free dessert: The gluten-free rhubarb dessert was a wonderful end to the meal – creative and flavorful.
Areas for Improvement
• Slow service for basics: Water service was slow, and one of our cocktails was forgotten until we reminded the staff.
• Service slip-ups: A waiter dropped cutlery near our table, and we were almost served a drink in a chipped glass (caught just in time).
• Table clutter: Unused wine glasses stayed on our table all night, which felt cluttered and unnecessary.
• No dish explanations: Each dish was delivered with no description or introduction, leaving us guessing what we were eating.
• Food quality issues: Some ingredients not fresh – the cauliflower salad had pomegranate seeds that tasted old, and a gluten-free zucchini flower appetizer had an off (fishy) taste.
• Burnt dessert: Unfortunately, the churros we ordered came out burnt, which was disappointing, especially for a special occasion.
