The chunky steak and chicken and leak pies are delicious, they've nailed the pastry! Lemon and poppies seed cake was fluffy and tasted like non gluten free cake 🙌 and the Caramel slice was 10/10! Definitely coming back.

The food is mostly ok at Gluten Free 4 U on North East Rd. Wouldn’t recommend the scones, hot cross buns or the muffins. The pies and plain frozen breads are much better standard. Went at lunch time today and there was nothing hot and ready to go in the pie warmer. Last time I went there was no plain bagels even though that is a frozen product that the stock levels can be planned for. That time I was told it would be approximately a month wait until the plain bagels would be available again. So it’s hit and miss whether they are going to even have the item you want to purchase. The biggest problem is the service. The aggressive level of upselling is going to make me look elsewhere for an alternative to buy gluten free food. Today when I questioned there being nothing hot and ready to go in the pie warmer they tried to sell me frozen pies multiple times after I’d said no as well as room temperature pizzas and pastries. Once you say you want to pay for your items they again ask if you want something from the tray that just came out of the oven, then once they give you the total cost they will say that you’re close to meeting the amount required to enter the competition and again ask you if you want to buy more food mentioning several more items that they think you might want. The previous times I’ve been in the store the service has been so slow even though there’s only one person in front of me because they are trying to sell people so many extra products that the customer never suggested they wanted. Even service today as the only person ordering was so slow because of being asked so many extra pushy questions to try to get me to buy things I don’t want. It feels disrespectful to be hassled so much to buy more instead of just grateful for my business and to move through the interaction swiftly without a whole lot of unnecessary pressuring. It’s not just one staff member that tries to excessively upsell either, it is a repeated problem with all of the staff members I have ever been served by here. Will be looking to go elsewhere as a result.
