As always... Always good. Got the special "Juicy Lucy" cheeseburger. Great burger but odd name choice. Asked for bun free burgers. Clerk asked if it was by choice or allergies. Told her allergies and she informed the prep team that the incoming order was entirely gluten free. WOW!

The Best Restaurant in York! Hamir’s stands alone. This restaurant consistently serves some of the best food I’ve ever enjoyed. I often eat the Chole Masala here (pictured) The service is cheerful, knowledgeable, and friendly, and the food is ready in a very reasonable amount of time. Mr. Hamir himself almost always comes out to the table to check on everyone’s food to make sure it is just how everyone likes it! Few restaurants really give as much careful attention to the atmosphere as Hamir’s. The environment always feels warm, cozy, and private with just a touch of adventurous flair—you would never know you were in the middle of York, PA. A note about spiciness: Hamir’s offers a choice of 1 to 5 for spiciness level… I (and others!) have found that Hamir’s tends to err on the side of caution. I would personally recommend ordering one or two numbers above the spiciness you think you would like. I love spicy food, and have gotten in the habit of telling them to make my food 6 out of 5 spiciness level. They do honor this request, and I can attest that 6/5 is noticeably spicier than 5/5, so feel free to order that if you are like me. But don’t worry if you want your food totally mild—just order 1/5, and you will be perfectly happy with no spiciness that way! I order gluten free (you see the gluten free variety in my picture), and I am delighted that they have this option!! This restaurant actually gives you an experience, and it is so reasonably priced. If you try one restaurant in York, make it Hamir’s!

Prince Street Cafe has been a favorite spot of my sister for as long as she has been a York transplant from Maryland. Her veganism and gluten sensitivity make places like this special - the food is as delicious as it is safe for her, AND they have dishes the rest of our family enjoys with the rest of our various dietary needs. Only outshining their food is their service. I made a significant mistake when ordering online the day before the aforementioned sister's birthday party, and the staff and manager went way out of their way to make things right. They absolutely did not need to raise to the level of hospitality that they did -- their generosity saved the day!
