Awesome place. Especially for celiacs. A little pricey—but the food was worth it. Excellent customer service. Great tasting and fresh food.
Will come again. Recommend it.
(Sad we didn’t do the karaoke.)
This place knows about celiac- not just “gluten free”. Extreme care in preparation of food. Separate cooking area and servers! Had the tacos and they were fantastic! The live music was an additional bonus! #celiac

Love love love!
Celiac friendly.
Delicious food, great prices and such a good vibe. The food comes out really fast too.
Pretty sure I ate here 3 times during my last trip to Charleston.
I chose this restaurant while I was in town specifically because I have celiac disease and they had items on their menu that were clearly labeled as gluten free. What I was able to eat was delicious, but their gluten free labelling on the menu is incredibly misleading.
I asked our server if the tortilla chips (labelled gluten free) on the menu were fried in a fryer that also fried foods that contained gluten and was told they are. So not gluten free.
I asked if their corn tortillas for the tacos were warmed on the same surface as their flour tortillas and was told they were. So they're not gluten free. This sounds like an insane distinction if you aren't familiar with celiac disease, but I have had tacos make me sick this way in the past. Our server asked the kitchen to warm them differently and it was fine.
And again, my tacos were delicious. I appreciated that the server communicated with the kitchen to warm my tacos. But if I had trusted the menu (or I guess just ASKED if things were gluten free vs asking specifics about how items were made) I would have spent tonight very ill.
Great atmosphere. The Jasmin was fully in bloom as we ate outside with a heavenly scent. Our server (Stephanie) was cheerful and quite helpful.
Overall a very pleasant experience. We'll be back!
My wife has Celiac and they were knowledgeable and have a separate fryer for chips.
Cantina is always my go to restaurant especially in the city! The roasted chicken tacos are always my favorite! They have so many gluten free options too! The service at the bar or if you are sitting at a table is always amazing! The manager was very informative on higher shelf tequila and helped our group out tremendously! I will always recommended cantina! Can’t wait to visit again!
Waited 2.5 hours for a table on a week of Florida spring break. The service was excellent; thank you Garren. But the food was mediocre at best, though it was the end of the night. Their house beer was excellent. Our family member who ordered a gluten free dish, which was assured to be so, was cooked in the same fryer as products containing gluten. It's understandable they don't have a separate fryer, but it was assured that the chef takes it "very seriously".
Tasty food and drinks served quickly. Endlessly customizable options. Yummy chips and salsa. Gluten free available. Maybe not kid friendly menu. Can be loud. Indoor and outdoor seating. Usually can find free parking in the back lot.
Amy and her team at Tacozzini were amazing, handling a massive takeout order for our wedding party on 4.21.23 and hand-delivering it to Wisteria Augusta Salon where we were getting our hair and makeup done for my wedding last week. They made sure everything was labeled (we had some gluten-free and vegan options included), and even offered to bring over nice table settings and catering silverware to elevate our experience! We declined, in case our hair and makeup finished early and we had to eat and dash (or eat in hair chairs). Everyone loved their food and it was such a great spot, highly recommend Tacozzini for anyone needing gluten-free, dairy-free, or just delicious options for dinners, lunches, or takeout!!
The food here is great if you’re looking for a delicious taco. They’re consciousness about gluten allergies, and the wait staff has always been friendly.
The food was mid, service was okay, atmosphere was dead, food take almost an hour despite being THE ONLY in the restaurant. We had to listen to foul language beside us the entire time we Waited on our food. Menu said gluten free options and as you may come to expect we in fact did not receive gluten free options. Thank you so help me GOD.
The manager went above and beyond to help us! She spent time at our table to understand my gluten-free/dairy-free allergy and needs, while recommending options. The staff followed suite and were incredibly kind and attentive. They were cautious to change gloves and prepare my meal separately. Not to mention, it’s a fun and kid-friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend!
This place has had our favorite tacos every. Every single family member has loved their meal. I loved the shrimp ceviche taco and the the fish tacos. They were full of flavor and super good. The chocolate pot was amazing too. Being a celiac I was able to order from the menu and have desert. We can’t wait to go back next time we are in town… best part is that those working were so very nice.
Best food, atmosphere, and service. Seperate fryer for tortilla chips, which means nachos for someone like me that has celiac disease. They are very accommodating and have lots of allergy friendly foods. I can't say enough great things about this Taco Boy. Just bring your sweater if sitting inside.
Excellent service and food. We were there with a party of 8. They were able to seat us promptly. Most everyone ordered something different. Everyone enjoyed their food. It well prepared and delicious.
I have a Gluten allergy. They have some GF menu items and made note of that for the kitchen.
The food is fabulous here, especially the taco bowls. We really appreciated the music selection as well. Great place to stop for lunch on a road trip! I was absolutely FLOORED that there are 2 gluten-free desserts on offer: a crispy rice treat and a brownie.
Although Gluten Free is not marked on the menu, every waitress is knowledgeable and the ensured that everything was gluten free and they brought it out separately. My daughter has celiac.
Tacos, rice and veggies were pretty good. The gluten free chips were baked and a little like thin cardboard. Edible but not the same as the fried tortilla chips normally served.
Great food! I have a gluten allergy and they really helped after I ordered and came to tell me the bbq has gluten in it. Very thankful for the staff and great food. Best corn shell tacos!!
Gluten Free Hard Tacos are a quick 'while on the road' treat. Safe too! One of very FEW places you can find anything GF to eat in "fast food." They were very busy, but changed gloves, made mine carefully, & served hot.
Papi's was recommended to us by a stranger on the beach. We looked up the menu and let me say, they have THE best ALLERGY FRIENDLY, including GLUTEN and DAIRY FREE menu! (See pic.) I sent a picture to my MIL bc she hates onions! You'll understand when you see the menu!
So, my bestie and I walked to dinner, and luckily we got there early so there wasn't a wait. (Get there early.)
We were seated immediately by the front door. Me, being the observer that I am, noticed the total occupancy is 39 people max. Note: it is a very packed tight restaurant. Don't be afraid to get cozy! I also noticed there were 3 levels. Level 1: dining, level 2: more dining, level 3: patio bar! And then there are tables outside for some more dining. They do have bar seating as well.
Weaving through tables and a high top, you'll find the restroom on the first level.
Let's talk about food!
The chips and guacamole were awesome! The chips are made in house and made with corn, so definitely Gluten Free! I highly recommend. If you like salt, these crispy chips are just right!
My friend and I ordered the sesame seared tuna taco. I ordered mine gluten free, she ordered hers without any special requests. The size wasn't too big, in fact, they were the perfect size especially if you're going to order more than one. (Which I recommend!)
I take one bite and being super distracted by the amount of people coming in, I didn't notice that my taco was on a flour tortilla. I pick up the taco for a second bite and immediately realize what I had done. I let the server know that the taco was on a flour tortilla as I rushed to the restroom.
I was not upset with anyone but myself. I am so careful! I guess the people watching had me so distracted.
The server said there were more restrooms upstairs, but then a gentleman exited the restroom just in time.
Let me say, the GM and the servers were AMAZING and so KIND. They apologized and said they should have caught the error. I felt terrible because I should have caught the error. Some could argue that it's their job to ensure the food comes out as ordered, but cooks, chefs, servers, GMs are all human.
The GM took care of everything for us, which was very kind.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this restaurant for Gluten Free, dairy free people!
They mark GF items on their menu, but not all are celiac safe. Their chips and fries are cooked in the same fryer as the breaded onion rings, so are not safe if you have celiac, but may be ok if you’re gluten intolerant. Most tacos can be made GF by substituting corn tortillas. And their birria tacos can be made without being fried or they can pan fry them if you ask. Burritos can be made into bowls. I honestly had an amazing lunch here and would come back. Just sad I couldn’t have their chips and salsa.
Awesome little taco bar - food was delicious and lots of options - all meats and vegetarian and gluten free as well. Great prices - friendly staff! Loved it!
What a great atmosphere for King Street! Delicious food with options for vegan and gluten free. The homemade sauces are BOMB! Here is a side salad with grilled shrimp with a homemade vinaigrette
The waitress was very knowledgeable about what items I could eat as I have Celiac. She made suggestions on substitutions and made me feel very confident in the food! I had two tacos and a side and everything was delicious.
The best Latin American food in the area, and for a good price! It’s authentic, hot, and fresh. They were willing to accommodate vegetarian options of the menu as everything is made to order. I can’t eat at other close by Mexican places because they lack gluten free options. Most of the food at this place are made from cornflour not wheat flour so I was able to enjoy most of the menu 🙏
It was our first visit and we loved it! I am gluten free and there are lots of options for me. Everything is very fresh and the spicy chicken was very good. The owner spoke to us personally and answered all of my questions. I told her I love spice and she even brought me some of her special spices to try. We will be back!
A nice alternative to Chipotle. Similar menu, choose your ingredients style. Good drinks. Similar cost but Chipotle serving size was a bit larger. Just did not have chips that were gluten free. There are free kids meal days if that helps.
Server indicated the enchiladas were corn tortillas. Unfortunately they were flour. I could not tell due to all the sauce. I have Celiac's and am completely gluten free and was quite sick when I got home. I have never heard of flour enchiladas. I spent a good portion of my life in Tucson Arizona and never heard of flour enchiladas. I ordered a takeout for another member of my family and it was inedible, Carne Asada. The beef was one piece of meat, completely dry and tasteless. Disappointed and will not go back.

The Sand Bar is awesome! The food is fantastic! The prices are not bad at all! There is a great variety on the menu, and they can accommodate every dietary need! We had gluten-free, vegan, and Dairy- free in our group, and everyone loved their meals. The cod dinner with seasonal veggies was awesome! I highly recommend it.👌
