Found this restaurant through google when looking for gluten free. Had the fish and chips and it was the best fish and chips I have had. They have a separate deep fryer for GF. The staff were great and it was a very busy Friday afternoon in the rain. Great experience all around. Now if they had a location in Calgary, Alberta it would be perfect.đ
I live in Millwood and have never been in here til today ! The service was top notch & the food was amazing & gluten free ! ! For those who don't know ! !
Went for dinner and it was excellent! The scallop risotto was the special that evening and it was delicious. Also had the jerk chicken risotto and cheesecake for dessert. Our group was also very happy about all of the gluten free options on the menu.
What a great place!!! The only thing better than the food is the exceptionally friendly and accommodating staff, especially Marico who seems to be there from dawn to closing and is as nice at the end of the day as he is at the beginning. A MUST if you are passing through Bad deck (even worth making a detour for a stop). AND they have an amazing gluten free selection of most of their menu!!

We love the look of the new location! There are lots of gluten free options on the menu. However, my ramen was far too salty and I wasnât able to finish it because of that. The rice in the rice bowl was cold. The server was very nice but service was slow. We did enjoy the bao bun and the calamari. Weâll be back to give studio east another chance!
Went for the Nutella noodle cheesecake (March 11-5, 2025 only) and left with the peanut butter cheesecake too. Sweet Hereafter is an adorable cheesecake and coffee/tea restaurant, perfect for a date, catch up, late night dessert or to take out. Itâs a âMa and Paâ business, locally owned and operated and the Pa makes all the recipes. And they have gluten free options. Theyâre closed on Sundays and Mondays so plan ahead. So glad itâs on my dessert choice list now!
My partner and I always come for special occasions and have a wonderful experience. The service is always great, weâve had a couple great servers who have been very personable and make the experience that much better, and the food is amazing. I am celiac (needing gluten free), and I always appreciate when the complimentary gluten free focaccia is brought to the table, and itâs delicious! I also am obsessed with their chicken penne pasta, highly recommend giving it a try if you havenât!
Fast, gluten free, and very nice employees. Stopped in for a Bangkok Bowl and a Thai curry soup. The bowl was nice - went with half rice/salad option and added chicken. The soup was good. Both dishes were gluten free.
Iâm in town for a trip and Iâll be going back to this restaurant again, knowing that itâs got GF options. Staff were both really nice to speak to and were happy to talk about the menu and the franchises across the country.
Asked if they had any gluten free items and they provided me with a separate menu of just gluten free items. I got fish cakes. I believe they also had a gluten free seafood chowder. Staff was nice. Outside patio is pretty small so we had to sit inside.
Had an amazing dinner, the food and drinks were excellent and they were very accommodating to dietary restrictions (vegan, gluten free) in our group. The service was also outstanding and each person in our group received a fresh rose at the end of the meal. The ambiance was really nice as well. I highly recommend it!
12/10.
Stumbled upon this place.
Out of the 5 day biz trip. I ate here 3 times. Not just for the food; which is incredible. (I am gluten free too!)
But the service too.
Had dinner at Flavor on the water recently. Great view from this restaurant! I had salmon which perfectly cooked and tasted great. Easy gluten free dining.
We had a gathering of 16 people and Talay Thai put together our take out order flawlessly. The food was delicious, and they were very knowledgeable and willing to accommodate my gluten sensitivity.

I had been to Side Hustle before twice and had such a lovely experience.
So Iâm not thrilled to write this. But feel the need to share as I am concerned about what happened to me.
I popped into eat some lunch during burger week, and they only had a burger week menu. Really nothing else on it. Which as a small place I guess is expected.
I was about to head out, and the server recommended the Thai chilli chicken, and I said I canât eat really spicy food. I then asked if the gluten free Thai chilli chicken could be made less spicy as it was the ONLY thing on the menu that wasnât beef, or tofu that could be made gluten free.
The server said yes - the kitchen could not add the spicy chili jam to the burger. And I was like great Iâll have that.
The burger came out, everything looked good.
3 bites in and I can barely breathe.
They included the spicy chili jam, and as someone who canât do super spicy items I nearly choked in the restaurant. It was quite embarrassing actually, I was coughing so hard I had tears streaming down my face. Made worse by how echoey the bar is itself.
The server finally came by after I was coughing for several minutes and I told him there is spicy chili jam on this. He says he will get them to remake it.
I had gotten nauseous from coughing so hard I donât even want to eat more of the food that isnât spicy (aka the fries I paid extra for)⊠So I just say no, thanks. You can take it. I had only eaten a handful of fries and a couple bites of the burger.
It was pretty bad, I was pretty embarrassed.
And I wasnât even finished my cider before the bill was handed to me.
They charged me for 50% of the meal, burger and fries even though I didnât eat most of it.
I likely should have said something to the server however I was already embarrassed from coughing so loudly.
I likely will take a second thought before heading back as everything is expensive now, and Iâd like to eat what I pay for.
While the food and service were excellent, if youâre celiac or gluten intolerant, be careful ordering the items marked gluten free. They had a lot of options (which is why we went), but when I ordered the Japanese rice bowl, I asked if I could get chicken instead of the salmon or tofu the comes with the dish. I asked if they had a GF chicken option, and the waitress said that would be no problem, but then warned me that one sauce used in the dish I wanted isnât GF. She said it could simply be omitted. My issue is that the dish was labelled GF but contained gluten. If I hadnât wanted a substitute, I would have been very sick. This makes me wonder if anything else labelled GF actually needs to be modified. They should put GF option available instead of simply GF. Thatâs so dangerous for people who are very sensitive to gluten. You wouldnât expect something marked vegan to contain meat, or something marked nut free to contain nuts. So irresponsible and disappointing.
An exceptional dining experience. Very impressed with how serious food allergies are treated. Our server, who was excellent, guaranteed no crosscontamination of gluten and the manager Yamac, who was particularly personable, attentive and pleasant,
discussed the method of food preparation, ingredient substitution prior to the meal being made and checked in afterwards to confirm everything was satisfactory.
My partner and I enjoyed every bite of our meals. I had the Chipotle Mango Chicken, my partner had the Grilled Chicken Zen Bowl. Photo of the Chipotle Mango Chicken enclosed. The cheesecake was the best that we ever had. The service was excellent. Hats off and thanks to Moxie's a restaurant doing it right. We will be back.
Such a fun place to eat. Celiac safe (in my experience) and most of the menu can be made gf. It tends to be noisy so if you're not into that kind of thing it's something to be aware of. It's a cozy spot and the service is always top notch. Once a dish wasn't what I'd hoped and the server inquired why I wasn't eating much. I didn't want to complain but after I told them I wasn't into it they brought a free dessert after offering to replace the whole meal (I was already full so I didn't want another). The one time I didn't love what I got they more than made up for it with the service. That same day I ate a bunch of another persons pasta and theirs was excellent, I think what I had was a one off and have gone back with 0 issues since.
We had a spectacular dinner at 2 Doors Down. A cozy atmosphere, excellent service and the food was amazing! My partner is celiac so was very happy they had a gluten free seafood chowder, and it was so good. Loved the biscuits with the butter and molasses as well. I had the scallop and asparagus risottoâŠ.definitely recommend!
I went to this restaurant for a Deaf event. One of the servers new sign language and was able to serve the deaf people adequately and charismatically. As a gluten-free person, I had a delicious haddock taco and didn't feel the gluten-free options were any less delicious than the regular options! Prices are high, but fair for the overall experience. Will definitely be returning.
This is the best place to eat after exploring Peggy's Cove lighthouse. My family loves the roasted chicken, fish and chips, and the gluten free chocolate torte.
We recently visited the Dill Pickle Sandwich Bar and Cafe - choosing it because their menu offered gluten-free optionsâimportant for someone in our group who has celiac. Unfortunately, the experience didnât quite live up to expectations.
The interior could definitely use a bit of attentionâit felt a little tired and didnât offer the warm, welcoming vibe we were hoping for. That said, our server was friendly and did her best to accommodate us.
After placing our order, we were told there was no gluten-free bread available. The staff offered to run out and buy some, which we appreciated in theory, but at that point the other meals were already being prepared and insulin had been takenâso waiting or leaving wasnât a realistic option. Our gluten-free diner had to pick something else on the fly.
As a Monte Cristo fan, I ordered it expecting the usual rich, indulgent sandwich. Instead, it was a basic ham-and-cheese on French toastâjust one slice of each, with none of the heft or flavor the dish is typically known for.
The coffee setup is self-serve, which isnât a problem, but it wouldâve been nice to be told that instead of just being handed an empty cup.
I brought up the gluten-free issue with the owner at the end, and while she did agree to remove that meal from the bill, the conversation felt a bit tense. Our server, to her credit, apologized again and remained kind throughout.
Thereâs potential here, and I donât doubt the staff careâbut between the atmosphere, food execution, and dietary oversight, it just didnât quite hit the mark for us this time.
A hidden treasure we just happened to find. Great place to meet up with friends in a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere. The service was amazing, and the food was excellent. My husband has celiac, and not only did he have gluten-free choices on the menu, he really enjoyed the food. Best of all, he didn't have any negative reactions. We'll definitely be going back whenever we're on Halifax.
The interior is beautiful, romantic enough, cozy, but the light is too dim for me (but this is my subjective opinion).
Location - the restaurant is located in the down town, i.e. in the city center, which, unfortunately, means the absence of its own parking lot and you have to look for it, and it is paid even on weekends.
Food - not very many, in fact, menu items if we are talking about the main dishes. There are few gluten-free dishes, which, for example, was a problem for us. We had to order soup and salad because we have restrictions on the types of meat we can eat and therefore, actually, vegetarian soup is all we could order. It was delicious, I have no complaints, but it's still a pity that there is such a limited selection of gluten-free meat dishes.
We ordered tea and I liked that the tea cup was warm (despite the fact that it was empty), and the tea was served separately in a teapot).
Service - everything here was top notch, the girl who served us was as attentive as possible, she knew the menu and the composition of the dishes well, she could tell us what dishes we could order, taking into account the restrictions we had.
But still, I deducted one star. I was out of paper towels. As always, in the restaurant there is a cloth napkin in which the cutlery is wrapped and which we put on our laps when we eat, but I cannot wipe my lips, for example, with that napkin, for this I need paper ones, but they were not on the table and no one offered . This is my humble opinion, it was uncomfortable for me. Well, the shortcomings of the menu that I wrote about above also played a role in the evaluation.
And in general, I can recommend this place, we liked it.
Had lunch at The Church Brewing Co. one day last week while visiting family in Nova Scotia. Plenty of gluten-friendly options. I had the 'Tequila Chicken & Corn Tostadas'. They were really good! The service was attentive. The location is very unique. Would highly recommend if you're ever in Wolfville.
We went twice during our short stay in Little Narrows. The seafood chowder is the absolute BEST! And desserts are fantastic. Nice that they had a good assortment of gluten free options. Friendly atmosphere and great food brought us back. Wish I could give more stars.đ
This restaurant was incredible. I had the "The Burger that ate Cape Breton" and was seriously one of the best things I've ever eaten. Wife had the Lobster roll and she quite enjoyed it. My son had the Fish and Chips from the kids menu, another happy camper. One thing to note was they had Gluten Free buns for their rolls and burgers which is what my wife had with her lobster roll.
Do not miss this gem. Their gluten free fish chowder is sone of the best we ever had (and we had many). Fish tacos (glutenfree option) -lovely. Their chef definitely knows how to cook fish. Cheesecake (also glutenfree)- wonderful. Service- friendly, hospitable, warm. Feeling grateful
I absolutely love the crobster roll from the Canteen. The seafood tastes really fresh and every time I've been there, the servers have been friendly and nice. I've ordered the crobster roll both with the regular bread and the gluten free bun - and I feel like less seafood is given in the gluten free bun (it's a hamburger bun instead of bread slice). Overall, I'd love to come back next time I'm in Dartmouth and I would advise making a reservation beforehand as it's usually quite busy.
Vacationing from Vancouver B.C. and fancied a nosh whilst touring around N.S.
I'm also celiac and this place has many options!! I was more than thrilled to see this on the menu!
Baked Brie w/gf crackers was delicious đ
The staff are very friendly and super helpful with directions.
Also, they serve a generous cup of coffee!
Definitely check it out if you're in the area đ
Thank you!
