Tasty food and drinks served quickly. Endlessly customizable options. Yummy chips and salsa. Gluten free available. Maybe not kid friendly menu. Can be loud. Indoor and outdoor seating. Usually can find free parking in the back lot.
Our family loves eating at Konnichiwa! The food is amazing and they are able to accommodate a gluten allergy which has been such a blessing! The staff is always so friendly and attentive. Yogi is so kind and always calls us by name. Our children beg to eat at the restaurant and we also often enjoy getting take-out. Both are great! Highly recommend!
First time getting the gluten free dough build my own pizza. My gluten free is an allergy when when the guy was told that he immediately changed his gloves and he as the only one to handle my pizza. When he got done he told the person who puts the pizza in that this was a gluten free was an allergy. My pizza was amazing. I love being able to get gluten free pizza out definitely won’t be my last 😁🍕🍕🍕🍕🍕🍕. Very friendly and nice staff. For me personally the place is very loud with not a lot of people there just the way the place was built. If it was warmer I would definitely sit outside.
The restaurant is always grungy. The Salad bar has old food stuck on the bottom part. I had Gluten free burger the bun was like a rock. I ate the meat and pickles. Wasn't really that good

This is not a brazilian steakhouse, which should not deter you. Consult my pictures to see how the food counter is set up.
Good food and good people. I told the owner this is a great place that was needed to add more flavor to the Lexington area.
Food: 5 stars due to all food being fresh and hot. It's different cuisine than what most are used to but there is something on their menu for everyone. The combo of brown rice, pinto beans and kale alone come together with their sauce. I had the juicy chicken and my wife had the juicy pineapple.
Service: 5 Stars due to the owner coming around and checking in on patrons looking for constructive feedback on the music selection, food selection and atmosphere. This is something that's not done in most establishments and can reap great results.
Atmosphere: 5 Stars due to the music, cleanliness, and presentation of the food.
The food is flavorful so it's probably not a place we would bring our kids to. However, my wife and I loved it. Make sure you try the soft gluten-free cheese bread!
Very cool place. Proportions are perfect for the prices. Gluten free cookies are amazing as well. Staff are very friendly. Country grandma's house vibe inside with windo seats to people watch. Check them out.
Food was very good! Hot! And fast! The cookie was yummy! It should have up beat music playing but nice place definitely be back!! And had gluten free bagel too .
Every time we come here it’s always a great experience! Food is consistently amazing / Thai tea is excellent! No complaints! Also my husband recently developed a gluten allergy and they handled it with such care - and had so many options for us. Highly recommend!
The owner was there and greeting people at the door along with his staff when we came. Even on a very busy afternoon he made time to talk to our table and every other table there like we were all guests in his home. The staff was helpful with gluten free foods and polite and prompt.
It’s definitely a family place and even has an arcade for kids to play in.
Stopped in for brunch, was amazed at the menu food and drink options. Four of us all had something different and a couple of shareables. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and attentive too. One party member has celiac disease and requires gluten free options of which there were several and our server understood cross contamination is a major issue for this.
We’ve tried a few dishes, my wife has celiac disease and requires gluten free options. They tend to miss little things like a gluten free salad can’t have croutons and you can’t just take them off as the salad now contains crumbs of gluten. The pizza is pretty good and they have several options. Not our first choice, but we will give them a couple of tries as we like the staff and they do have a good selection of Italian dishes that we’d like to try.
I ordered a Coconut decaf latte and it was delightful. There were no gluten free options so I could not order food. Small food selection and no snacks at 11:30am for even a person w/o dietary restrictions.
Well corporate tried to give me 2 expired vouchers for small sandwiches to make up for 2 large sandwiches one gluten free that were made wrong and with nasty expired ingredients. The store would not accept these vouchers and now the person who gave them to me wants the original receipt number again. I'm sorry but I threw it out when I thought this was resolved. Bad enough I paid 50 dollars for 2 sandwiches we could not eat and they would only replace with 2 smalls. I will never go to any of these places and I will never recommend.
My husband and I visited from Augusta because he saw the eating challenge on youtube and wanted to give it a try. I immediately loved the atmosphere. The 50s theme is over-the-top as any 50s themed diner should be and we immediately were greeted by multiple employees. Once my husband told them he wanted to do the challenge, they had us move to the bar and started his burger right away. I'm pretty sure every staff member chatted with us at least once and everyone was so sweet and genuine. And they all seemed to have a good working relationship with each other - I know it's normally a toxic term for a workplace, but it really felt like family, and we felt included in that. Needless to say my husband didn't finish his burger and gave up just to order a concrete. I had the chicken basket and it was great! I have a gluten allergy so having the option for grilled tenders made it even better! Thanks to everyone working at Hwy 55 for making our day awesome!
Waffles were burned (you could tell as soon as it was placed in front of us. They were hard!)
Bacon was burned (I'm talking black and like chips).
Hash browns were cold.
Eggs, egg benedict and gluten free pancakes were AMAZING and very well cooked! Just not sure why half our food was perfect and the other half was so over cooked it was like dust when you bit into it.
Also when I asked our waitress if they had kids menus she asked what I said, so I asked again and she just looked at me and walked away. So I guess the answer is no??
We had a phenomenal experience. I am a physician with celiac disease and the restaurant was incredibly accommodating. Victoria B. was so knowledgeable and helpful. I was very impressed! I will definitely be back.
Very nice Italian style ristorante. We had a gluten free pizza for my wife who has celiac disease and she had no issues following. I tried the San Gennaro pizza which was very good. We shared a large garden salad with the vinaigrette dressing. We also hade some white wine, iced tea, an Italian beer, Moretti lager, and a local white lager on tap. I finished with the ultimate chocolate cake and a coffee. Our server was very nice and attentive. Overall a very good first experience!
