They have multiple options for gluten free crust, note down gluten allergies/Celiac, and have separate covered ingredients that they can use for people with allergies. They also keep gluten free pizzas on a separate side of their brick oven as regular and have them on a special mat.
Great local restaurant with gluten-free options. Good beer, selection and nice chili. Had some live jazz music on Saturday night as we came through as well. Not college cheap, but the food was good quality. Definitely put on your list to check out.
The food was so delish!!!. They have a huge menu and were able to cater to my gluten and dairy allergy. The waitress was one of the best I’ve ever had. The restaurant doesn’t look like a five star place but the food is bangin. Me and my husband were really impressed!
I went here for the first time this summer and since then I have frequented this place every week or sometimes 2 times per week. Having a gluten allergy its often hard to find places that have good food and multiple options. The food is great, the owners are present and the sevice awesome. Highly recommend.
Extensive gluten free menu.
New owner/chef (Raj) is out and about in the dining room meeting new customers as orders allow. Very friendly and enthusiastic about the business. Had the chicken pakora and the golden fried prawns. Prawns we're cooked, but tender - perfect! And the chicken was moist. Both dishes were delicious. Ordered chicken Tikka masala (my usual go to at an Indian restaurant) and the mango chicken (hot). The Tikka was a bit sweet for my taste and the flavor leaned a bit toward molasses for some reason, but it was still very good. The mango chicken was about a 6/10 on the heat scale, even though I ordered it hot, so I wouldn't be afraid to order the mild or medium. The flavor was delicious, though. Will be coming back to try other dishes in the future.
I have a severe gluten allergy and it is very hard to find a good pizza and a good crust! This place has both! That being said, I am no longer comfortable eating pizza here.
After a few bites of my most recent pizza I had a funny feeling (iykyk - when you have allergies you kinda get a 6th sense about things.) I called the waiter back over and he assured me the pizza crust was gluten free. A couple more bites and I still had the weird feeling - turned it over and the entire underside of my pizza was coated in flour.
I'd love some clarification from a manager about this. When I contacted the Glastonbury location I was told they cook their gluten free pizzas on a separate pan and prep them on a different space. When I called storrs, they said it was the same procedure. Any clarification about your allergy precautions would be helpful!
For what it's worth, I've eaten at both locations a half dozen times and this was my only incident. I chalked up to a busy night or an inatentive chef - I get it - it's busy... But I was brutally sick and haven't been back since.
IN LOVE! I ordered the Sunrise Bowl, I've never had anything so healthy that tasted so good! The atmosphere is very clean. The owner's are the sweetest people ever and genuinely care about their product! This restaurant is a MUST TRY! Especially if you are gluten-free & dairy free!
Good place for gluten free and vegan options. Staff are not always the most knowledgable about dietary restrictions... which is important for a place that caters to them. For example - chicken tenders are gluten and dairy free, but they were not sure about the dipping sauces that go with them. Good for a quick bite. I'd skip the "ice cream" as it is more like a flavored ice than ice cream.
Food: amazing. Masala fries were bomb. Clam chowder in the mainstay. Lamb satay cooked perfectly and tzatziki great. Braised short ribs falling apart above perfectly-cooked polenta. Crème-brûlée cheesecake solid. Did I mention all of this gluten-free?
Drinks: best long island iced-tea i’ve ever had. Spring bramble tasty for the wife. Black manhattan spicy as a second.
Would come back every weekend if I could afford it
Hash brown tasted like an over cooked brick. Super dry. Yogurt parfait was terribly tart. Tasted like sour cream with fruit. Wrap was decent. Staff were polite but had a hard time keeping up with who ordered what.
Best part was the gluten free baked goods. Having the baker from Nature's Health Store has made a huge improvement in the quality of the baked goods. They are delicious as always and you can tell she made them. Just wish they would put her in charge of the rest of the menu. It needs revamping.
Awesome all around! Everyone was friendly and helpful navigating me through the different new dishes, helping me avoid the gluten. Plenty of delicious, gluten free options! My guys say "MMMMM!"
