Amazing gluten free menu and service. These folks know what they are doing! GF food served on different coloured plates. So many pasta choices, pizzas and desserts. GF calamari, bruschetta and so much more. So happy Atly helped me find it ❤️
The gluten-free eggs Benedict was okay, but nothing special. The service was really slow, and the server wasn't very clear about what contained gluten and what didn't, but luckily her colleague was.
Service was excellent, atmosphere is lovely, cocktails delicious (need to go back to sample them all!), my main was delicious and beautifully plated, the desserts (I had one and sampled two others in my group) were very good but not amazing, but then I’m not celiac so I may have noticed differences in taste and texture compared to gluten-containing equivalents. Overall, I would definitely go back for drinks, apps and dinner, but I might pass on dessert or go down the street for a gelato to spread the local business support around. VIV is a great option for anyone who can’t have gluten but also a delicious and fun option for anyone who likes a nice cocktail and delicious, thoughtfully prepared food. Nice wine list too.

We had a terrible experience at Del Piacete over the italian week weekend. Our waitress was unprofessional, yawning while taking our order and never checking on us. Despite arriving before other customers, we waited 50 minutes for our food while watching others get served first.
Both of our pizzas had a couple mussels that smelled and tasted absolutely rotten. Beyond this serious food safety issue, my gluten-free pizza was also completely undercooked. When I complained, the waitress said reheating it might burn it so she gave me the option of either burned or undercooked. The chef explained they use new rice-based GF dough that “doesn’t cook well” - even after returning it to the oven, it remained inedible.
To their credit, they removed the undercooked pizza from our bill when I asked not to pay for it. However, the restaurant feels dated with sticky tables, and the high prices don’t match the poor service and atmosphere. This was my second visit and will definitely be my last.
Had great soft shell tacos! Chicken. And 2 types of pork that were all excellent. Rice and beans were pretty good. The room a bit too dark. Got brighter when the large screen TV flashed bright. Would definitely go back .
Wonderful options for my celiac friend.
My first time at this restaurant
I have been driving by for so many years I decided to go in today and try some butter chicken, I also ordered matar paneer and some garlic Naan. I have been to at least 5 Indian restaurants in ottawa, every restaurant has a slightly different flavor on there food
Each one has a different take on there Naan bread, but all were very good, so was the butter chicken
The butter chicken at Indian express was excellent
I noticed that the chicken was very tender. all the other restaurants I have been to the chicken was dry. The Naan bread was very good, nice and fresh loved it, no complaints here. The matar paneer was also fresh and flavourful, the rice was also fresh. Indian express also makes fresh deserts on site
I tried a square with Mango and coconut WOW WHAT FLAVOR, They also had a gluten free chickpea flour ball with Cashews WOW the flavours just keep on coming
Had to get an assortment of desserts oh so good
After one bite you will know what I mean.
Well I have no complaints on the food at Indian Express, service was good, very happy will be back.
I liked this restaurant enough that I would definitely go back. The wine list is interesting, and they have a robust NA menu.
I had the plant based 'meat' balls and I enjoyed my food, and the portion size was large enough for a meal. I would like to come back here again and try the small plates instead.
It was a little pricey: two glasses of wine, a plate of meatless balls, and a dessert came to just over 100 dollars with tip for one person, so I would say coming here is more of a treat.
Definitely check it out if you want to try some tasty plant based food options! They also seem to have extensive gluten free options on their menu.
Went out for my friend’s birthday dinner, ordered three ramen bowls and some sweet potato fries. Loved the ambiance- with art from so many anime shows (Black clover, Pokémon, etc.) Dim lighting really accentuates the mood, it was really lovely!
Tried some fantastic sweet sake. Got some gluten free veggie gyoza (honestly tastes a lot like pork dumplings yum 🥟!) with tofu noodles, they were really careful about my poultry allergy as well. So great!
The wait was long, but WELL worth it!

Just wanted to thank all the staff at Mati for a wonderful evening. I called to make a last minute reservation for my 19th Anniversary. When we arrived we were brought to our table and they had placed a happy anniversary card on it signed by all the staff. After we were seated the brought us 2 glasses of champagne. We had amazing apps and followed it up with the Rack of Lamb for 2. For dessert we were offered 2 choices unfortunately my wife is Gluten Intolerant so our waiter came back with to glasses of Amore. All in All not sure how our night and food could have been better. 10.5 out of 10 from these very happy customers. Thanx again....Dave and Julie Ross.
We got in the restaurant very late on a busy night with no reservation, but the staff was very friendly and welcoming. Lots of options available (including vegetarian and gluten free). Amazing food, environment and staff.
The rolls I had here were so yummy! Great gluten-free accommodations as well! Our server was Nikki and she was working very hard and making sure we had a good experience :)

Came in on a rainy Friday afternoon to try a few tacos.
The table service was slow but the food came out quickly. We got the shrimp taco, chorizo, vegetable and birria. We really liked the Chorizo and Birria, and would pass on the other two.
They were able to accommodate my gluten and dairy free allergies :)
A cozy spot tucked away in a residential street. Delicious tacos, great service and awesome patio in the warmer months.
Tacos are made with corn tortillas (gluten free) and dairy free options are available as well!
Dropped by here with my mom on a whim and I'm so glad I did. We just managed beat the lunch rush when we were seated so the place was nice and mellow. They had a/c blasting which was a nice reprieve from the 28 deg weather outside
They gave us a complimentary teapot of lemongrass tea - it smelled lovely but we would have enjoued it more if it were cooler. Ended up getting the thai iced tea which was a sort of milk tea, tom yum soup, pineapple and basil fried rice and pad thai. We chose shrimp as our protein for all 3 dishes since we wanted something nice and light in the heat.
What we forgot to account for were the portion sizes. They're huge!!! Each dish could easily feed 2-3 people depending on how hungry you are and were piping hot and fresh. The next time we come back, we'll likely get the drinks and soup again but split a main dish.
As a side note, this place offers a variety of customization options (eg. If you're vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, etc) and the service was very quick and friendly. It's a little bit of an older place since it's in the heart of Chinatown but you could tell they put effort into keeping it nice and tidy.
Mom and I both give it a 9/10
Fast, friendly, and delicious! This was a great find on a whim, and we were overwhelmed with choice (even with one being gluten-free and the other being spice/heat-free!) Will definitely go back.
Back to this restaurant after a 15+ year gap (while we were living elsewhere) and everything is still great. Table wait staff were very well trained and the maitre d's were attentive, personable and were easy to converse with. Both dishes that we chose and the appetizer were large, generous portions that we took home. They have a whole page in the menu dedicated to gluten free options (not just footnotes).
My partner and I celebrated our 9th anniversary at Perch and had an absolutely spectacular time. We loved the ambiance and how well thought out each dish and drink pairing was. We were also extremely appreciative of how they were able to modify parts of the menu for my partner's gluten intolerance. The staff were also so lovely to talk to and were clearly passionate about what they were doing.
Thank you so much to Perch for making our evening so special! We'll be back! 💕
We sat outside and it was not the most beautiful BUT there were actual linens on the table and that was very nice. The food was average I would say. The owner is a very good man and has been a restauranteur for decades in Ottawa. We enjoyed visiting with him and for his hospitality. The bruschetta has too many red onions in it, do not recommend. They do not bring bread unless you ask. The veal piccata was delicious, but the veggies and potatoes were not very hot or fresh. The pizza was good, but do not order gluten free pizza it is a terribly hard crust (which the owner deducted from our bill). The veal marsala was not particularly amazing. Overall if it weren't for the kindness of the owner I am not sure I would choose this again. There is a private room option for a group of maybe 20 people which is good to know.
Amazing food amazing drinks amazing service amazing staff.
It’s obvious that everyone who works here has their heart invested. Simple idea that their good is made for sharing and it’s such a great concept. Food was amazing you must try the lemon potato fingers they are soooo good.
Thank you to you all for making our Saturday evening dinner in Ottawa so memorable
They also accompanied all our dishes so my friend who’s celiac could enjoy them all. Well done.
What an amazing place to get takeout pizza from! They say a 1 m piece feeds four, I think it feeds six to eight! The hot honey is amazing, and the Cesar salad was the best I’ve had in Ottawa (they use anchovies in the sauce and there’s no bacon bits, and you can get gluten free, so it’s halal, pescatarian and can be gluten free, amazing!).
Asian fusion restaurant based in Vietnam
- Note: AMEX cards are not accepted
- Pros 1: The menu has all kinds of Asian cuisines, so there is something for everyone (Vietnamese, Japanese, Korean, Chinese), and the restaurant is spacious. The distance between tables is wide and comfortable, located in Chinatown, close to downtown, desserts available nearby
- Cons: There are too many menus
- Suggestions: I think it would be good to have a sales method where you can eat bubble tea at a low price no matter what menu you order (in terms of inventory and additional profits)
Pad Thai, ramen, Chinese Vietnamese, Japanese noodles and rice, fried rice, even curry
Spring rolls, vegan menu, gluten-free menu, and bubble tea
I had Vietnamese Vermicelli or Rice Bowl (VR5) and
Pad Thai Chicken (P5)
First of all, the bun had a clean taste and the vegetables were fresh
However, the pad thai was quite salty, which was surprising, but it was delicious
(I think it would be more delicious if you adjusted the seasoning a little)
Next time, I plan to order ramen and bun cha Hanoi
and I will revise and add the review then
As a passionate foodie, I can confidently say that this establishment stands unparalleled in all of Ontario and Quebec for its exceptional accommodation and attention to detail.
Being allergic to meat and gluten intolerant often makes dining out a daunting task, but the meticulous attention and care provided here transformed my experience into a delightful indulgence. Everything was delicious. From the appetizer to dessert.
From the moment we arrived, the service was impeccable. The valet and doorman extended a warm and gracious welcome, setting the tone for the evening. The host greeted us with genuine hospitality, and our servers were not only courteous but also remarkably attentive to our needs. Their professionalism and dedication elevated our dining experience to one of sheer luxury.
The ambiance exuded sophistication, and every detail was thoughtfully curated to ensure comfort and elegance. It’s rare to find a place where inclusivity meets opulence so seamlessly. I am eagerly anticipating my next visit, this time with my entire family, to share in this extraordinary culinary haven. Thank you very much!
This place is small and intimate. The service and food were delicious. We are both gluten free and they were very accommodating. My husband had the filet mignon which just melted in your mouth. Very high quality meat. I had the cod dish that was nice and light and had great flavors. If they could add a gluten free desert to the menu that would be outstanding.
We have already recommended to several of our friends.
This has quickly become my favourite place to eat. The Chinese menu is amazing and is highly customizable. Vegan friendly, gluten free options, spicy or mild - you decide.
The service is incredible, the staff are warm and kind people who deserve your business. The decor is engaging and transportative. But the prices! So inexpensive! Everyone could eat here all the time!
And should. Go now.
We went there for a dinner two days in a row! The food was deliscious and the owner of the restaurant is super sweet and nice. I cannot eat gluten and the was very informative about everything on the menu.
Would recommend everyone who is nearby to stop there!
