I am not exaggerating when I say the citrus poppy seed muffin I had today brought tears to my eyes. West Meadow Farm Bakery has, hands down, the best gluten free baked goods I have ever had. The absolute best part? Their loaves of bread are actually sandwich sized!!!!! I cannot wait to make French toast with the oatmeal bread, and a grilled cheese with the white bread. Many dairy free options as well!
Gluten free baking is expensive. There’s no getting around it. There are so many ingredients and components involved. This place is 100% worth the cost. I’m already spending $8 a loaf at the grocery store. I would rather pay $10 for a better quality product and support a small business. And the bread isn’t pre-sliced so I can cut it to my liking!!! I can’t wait to go back!
Food was very tasty but for the burger it costs $3 to add on sweet potato fries, 2 or $3 for a gluten free bun, and even $2 freaking dollars to add tomato and onion, what?!? All these things cost normal prices, are easily available, and should be options not requiring repricing. Furthermore the moment I walked in with my water bottle filled with spring water I was told I couldn't drink that in there due to policy, but they didn't have any non-sparkling pure water alternatives, instead forcing you to drink disgusting heavily chemical laden tap water. I never write reviews so the fact i'm writing this is your sign. We can't support businesses with practices like these with our hard earned money.
I love the sesame chicken salad! You can sub out the grains for more greens. and The chicken is perfectly cooked in a delicious Asian marinade. The roasted broccoli and crunchy carrots add more interest and nutrition. The dressing is flavorful. This salad is so healthy and delicious that I actually prefer it to their excellent burgers.
They are about as gluten friendly as anybody could hope for in a restaurant of this kind.
I enjoyed a very delicious sandwich on a GF/vegan bun. I have celiac and the server was knowledgeable and accommodating. Beautiful outdoor space made for a great rest on our journey. Highly recommended.
Incredibly friendly and informative staff with an amazing atmosphere. They offer a wide range of gluten-free options, including bread and pasta substitutions. All of the food and drinks were top-tier. I could not recommend this place more.
Found this vegan, gluten-free, sunbutter instead of peanut butter bagel bakery at the last minute and was overjoyed! Then learned they were having supply chain issues with their gluten-free bagels and were out of the maple sunbutter. Four stars for how amazingly kind they were - they called out after us when we left to give us a free gf+vegan pastry - not a savory breakfast but so yummy and so kind. <3
The best thing I’ve ever eaten: their gluten free vegan blondie with maple syrup, chocolate chunks, and walnuts. It was AMAZING. Delicious. Incredible. They warmed it up and it was melt in your mouth good. Thank you for having so many good vegan options!!
For 99 restaurant is pretty good. The food was as expected. There was a bus of 56 people. Did it just come in before us that we were going to have to wait a long time and we got our food would be Soso. But for having such a large crowd, the restaurant did really well. My husband had a rice bowl with pulled pork and I had a cheeseburger and a gluten-free roll hi. I asked for medium rare, and it came out just that.
This place is heaven, for meat and non meat eaters! Im celiac and vegan and they took SUCH amazing care of us - M and Kaleb are so kind and wonderful, weve come back three times in ten days. We could not recommend more!!!
The absolute best place for breakfast, lunch, or just a quick stop in for a latte or some baked goods. They have the actual friendliest and most attentive staff, the most delicious food, and they even have tons of gluten free and vegan items. My favorite place in southern Vermont (maybe all of Vermont?), hands down. Plus they even have matcha lattes now too!
After our delightful first visit, my wife and I knew we had to come back to Istanbul Kebab House for a proper meal. Last week, we decided to turn our date night into something special with dinner at this Turkish gem followed by a Broadway musical, Newsies, at the Flynn Center. We made a reservation in advance, as this spot is quite popular in the evenings - especially when there's a play happening nearby.
The ambiance was inviting and warm, with soft lighting and traditional Turkish decor creating a perfect setting for a romantic evening. The service was exceptional, and our server, Alexandra B., made the experience even more memorable with his attentiveness and friendly demeanor.
We started with the Small Meze Platter ($16.99), an excellent choice for sharing. The platter featured haydari, hummus, babaganoush, Turkish salsa, and stuffed grape leaves, all served with soft lavash bread. For those seeking a gluten-free option, fresh-cut veggie sticks are available. Each dip and spread was bursting with flavor, making this a must-try appetizer.
For the main course, I chose from the Earthenware Casseroles and ordered the Lamb Guvec ($27.99). The tender, marinated lamb pieces combined with tomato, mushroom, onion, pepper, and eggplant were served sizzling hot, and the aroma alone was irresistible. It was hearty, flavorful, and paired perfectly with the recommended 9oz glass of Vinkara red wine ($16.50).
My wife selected the Chicken Adana Kebab ($22.99) from the Traditional Kebabs menu. The mildly spicy, hand-ground chicken seasoned with Turkish maraş pepper and parsley was grilled to perfection and served with Turkish rice pilav, a side of greens, house pickled red cabbage, and marinated onions. She enjoyed every bite and complemented her meal with a 9oz glass of Ancyra white wine ($16.50), which was light and refreshing.
To close the evening, we indulged in a classic Turkish dessert, Baklava ($9.99). The layers of fresh phyllo, walnuts, and crushed pistachios, finished with a simple syrup, were the perfect sweet ending to our meal.
Istanbul Kebab House continues to impress with its excellent food, cozy ambiance, and impeccable service. Whether it’s a casual dinner or a special occasion, this restaurant is a must-visit in Burlington. We’ll definitely be back again!
A true gem! Gluten free and dairy free options! Wonderful place for celiac to enjoy great food and drink pairings. Portions are small similar to tapas. The ambiance was just right!
Stopped here for lunch on Saturday. Both of our hamburgers arrived burned black, the top of the bacon was black, and the bun was black. Sent it back and requested it again....
Medium rare on a gluten-free bun. The new one came only half burned black this time. This is a first for us. We have been enjoying fabulous food on this trip. We will not be back.
Update 8/2023
Consider removing the “wrap” stickers from your window even if you haven’t had them for six month. This will prevent people from having to stop in to only be told you don’t have them anymore. Some people may want wrap or gluten free bread but the only option here are bagels.

Always a good place to stop for a quick breakfast while on the way to work, traveling, or waking down Shelburne Rd. They have a big assortment of muffins as well and their drink cooler is always stocked.
They have a decent coffee selection. Speeder and Earl’s and can make a few specialty coffee drinks as well.
Their salad and sandwich selection is extensive.
My only gripe would be that their wraps aren’t that big and they don’t really stuff them full.
Coffee cornerstone of Montpelier. Awesome staff! Fresh, made to order light food, good pastry, cookies, and a wide variety of hot and cold beverages. Great gluten free options.
LOVE THIS PLACE. The atmosphere is upbeat but quiet. It's SO clean and tidy without feeling sterile. Great wifi. The coffee is so delicious! Made just right. My only wish is that they'll start keeping some gluten-free bagels in the freezer so there's something besides a Chef's Salad for gluten-free guests!
Stumbled upon this place by mistake but what a fortuitous mistake!! My celiac wife had an fabulous Cobb salad with what she called an "amazing" coffee. I had a turkey, lettuce, provolone and mayo sandwich on a poppy seed bagel. So yummy!! Next trip up from Montreal we'll definitely stop by again. Service was pretty fast and very friendly. Praise for a Vermont bagel from a born and bred Montreal boy. Now that says something!
Bagels were solid, but not the best I’ve ever had. I liked the cinnamon sugar bagels, brought me back to old school Panera before they sucked. They did have gluten free bagels and were careful with allergies for my friend.
