cute Japanese gluten free cafe
Loved their vege tempura noodles! Really fresh ingredients and clear but flavorful broth
They also have mochi, donuts, sushi rolls, onigiris to choose from
Delicious food in a great location for our lunch stop on the way to Canberra. We chose to stop at Truly Free Bakehouse becuase my mum is a Celiac. The rest of the family thought we'd be making a sacrifice for her enjoyment at a 100% GF bakery, but we were WRONG. It was snitzel burgers all round and they came out quickly, steaming hot, crisp and mouth-wateringly scrumptious. As a gluten eater I couldn't tell the bun, crispy and light, was gluten-free. The snitzel was perfection. Honestly. One of the best ever. AND... they didn't over do the mayonnaise. We paid $13.5 for each and the size was generous and sensibly cut in half for easy consumption. My mum couldn't resist picking up a raspberry and white chocolate muffin for the road and was pleasantly surprised that it was also one of the best ever, even compared to gluten ones. Plenty of seating, friendly staff, and so much choice for people who usually have very little. Thanks Truly Free Bakehouse for existing and bringung joy to our lives and our tastebuds.
Anyone with coeliac disease this place is a must. Extremely knowledgeable about coeliac disease and cross contamination and for once my toddlers had a wide variety of dishes to choose from so thank you for making my kids days with the gf pancakes!
This will be our go to spot every time weāre in the mountains.
10/10 food and coffee and staff were so friendly. Highly recommend!
The meals from Activate are delicious and nutritious, and they are all gluten-free and safe for coeliacs. The homemade taste is consistent across all the meals, even the frozen ones. Delivery is always punctual and the ordering process is simple. As a young family, we are grateful for the convenience that Activate provides.
As a Celiac, I was very pleased to read of this place and made the long drive out there. I was not disappointed
Huge selection of frozen GF foods and the lady there had my pre-ordered foods ready when I arrived
Whilst I haven't yet tried most of what I purchased, I did eat the Gf sausage roll and it was far better than I expected (delicious and pastry fabulous - which is very hard to find in GF options)
Friendly and very helpful lady behind the counter and the young man working was so kind as to help my elderly aunt up from her seat when he saw she was struggling
Highly recommend this place and will definitely be back
We got a gluten free Ferrero Rocher cake for my friends birthday and it was amazing! A crowd fave for both the gluten free and gluten eaters! Will definitely be back for more cakes in the future (or maybe to try one of their meat pies!)
My girlfriend is a celiac and am so thankful they put effort and time in catering for my requirements. We had a wide variety of choices to choose from and the food came out amazing. Would definitely come again.
Wow ā just wow! Unbelievable gluten-free seafood that completely blew me away. The crumbed calamari, salt and pepper squid, and baby octopus were absolutely next level crispy, flavourful, and perfectly cooked. I genuinely canāt get enough!
The only tiny letdown? No gluten-free fish cocktails yet but fingers crossed they add them soon.
If youāre coeliac or gluten-sensitive, this place is a dream come true. Run, donāt walk! Itās conveniently located right across from Terrigal Beach, and you can even order and enjoy your meal right on the sand. Pure bliss.
Stopped in here for some food. Awesome customer service, delicious food, well priced and lots of gluten free options. After eating there I cannot believe that this restaurant isn't more highly rated.
Absolutely love this place. Everything is completely gluten free, and lots of things are also vegan-friendly. The veg pies are my favourite (and I'm saying that as someone who can eat regular pastry with gluten - these are still the best). I'm slowly making my way through the menu and everything is delicious. The owner and staff are the nicest people too. Highly recommended!
Second time coming here and absolutely loved it. My husband is a coeliac and really enjoys the food. Staff were lovely. We came back the following day for fish n chips for our one year wedding anniversary
Been going here for years now. Always a nice place to be. Tonight I took my little kids who also love it. (Their request in fact)
Mostly gluten free which is a huge win for me. Great selection of drinks.
Good for any occasion.
Love your work team (:
Amazing gluten free and vegan options- rarely do I find so many options for both gluten free and dairy free, food was delicious!! The cafe itself had so much character š¤
Anna was our waitress- very attentive, welcoming and amazing customer service⦠will definitely be back!!
No Bones is a beautiful outdoors, covered restaurant. The dining experience is fantastic with friendly staff, fantastic cocktails and delicious food. The menu is creative with bright flavours. They were super accommodating to my dietary requirements, catering for Coeliacs and even had a gluten free fryer. We left perfectly satisfied and are already looking forward to our next visit.
After 10+ years of coeliac disease and being a pizza lover it has taken me this long to find a pizza base that I can enjoy . Trying everything available only to be bitterly disappointed , Bakery 43 pizza bases are the best I personally have had.
The muffins are awesome as well

All the food is vegan and gluten free. Set menu is very convenient and there is plenty of food. Definitely recommended if you have allergies or follow a vegetarian/vegan diet. Staff are nice and welcoming, definitely gonna go back!
Sensational pizza (gluten free to accommodate mālady) with delicious ingredients. Service was so friendly and accommodating. And how can you beat corkage free booze from the wine shop next door. Thanks for great experience Hamish and Alex.
This is the best cafe for coeliacs in Nelson Bay. Best eggs Benedict Iāve ever had. Southern style chicken burger and wagyu burger were both amazing - just remove the fries as they arenāt gluten free. Tons of gluten free options for Brekky and lunch on the menu. Staff is great / knowledgeable about coeliac restrictions and even better - the chef is coeliac. Also make sure to get any gluten free sweets they have - we tried the blueberry muffin, date & walnut bread, & coconut raspberry bread - all incredible and you canāt even tell itās gluten free. Canāt wait to come back here!
Had an absolutely amazing time here with delicious food and great service! My mum is coeliac and it's so hard to find places that take the proper precautions when dealing with gluten free food, but the staff were beautiful and went above and beyond to make sure her meal was safe, as well as having a variety of foods available. I had the schnitzel burger and it was fantastic, and we look forward to going again soon!
MID
Overall, we had a mixed experience ā some dishes were delicious, but several service and food issues kept the evening from being truly special.
⢠Tasty mains: The lamb (with potatoes) was absolutely delicious and cooked perfectly.
⢠Great gluten-free dessert: The gluten-free rhubarb dessert was a wonderful end to the meal ā creative and flavorful.
Areas for Improvement
⢠Slow service for basics: Water service was slow, and one of our cocktails was forgotten until we reminded the staff.
⢠Service slip-ups: A waiter dropped cutlery near our table, and we were almost served a drink in a chipped glass (caught just in time).
⢠Table clutter: Unused wine glasses stayed on our table all night, which felt cluttered and unnecessary.
⢠No dish explanations: Each dish was delivered with no description or introduction, leaving us guessing what we were eating.
⢠Food quality issues: Some ingredients not fresh ā the cauliflower salad had pomegranate seeds that tasted old, and a gluten-free zucchini flower appetizer had an off (fishy) taste.
⢠Burnt dessert: Unfortunately, the churros we ordered came out burnt, which was disappointing, especially for a special occasion.
