House bread with garlic butter, hot shrooms (star of the show), and Caesar salad were excellent. I think I would return just for those three things. Joey was an excellent server. I knocked off a couple stars because although our appetizers came out quickly, we waited an extremely long time for our entrées and the pesto fusilli came out room temperature, nearly cold. They accidentally served us a gluten-free widow pizza, and shortly after brought us one with the regular crust. The smoked date purée on the widow sounded intriguing, and although it was tasty, there was way too much slathered onto the pizza. I would not go so heavy handed with that covering the pizza. So overall, the entrees were meh, but the appetizers excellent!
Great 100% gluten free spot! It is also raw and vegan, so it does not have the most traditional meals and desserts but they are still very yummy. I enjoyed the various raw desserts we ordered and my cashew cheese quesadilla.
Loved this spot!
Highlights: ambiance is a yes, pizza is a full fak YES. Their pizzas are a tribute to their own favorite pizzas from all over. Isn’t that the cutest and most inventive thing ever?
Order: focaccia and burrata (just do it), enough pizzas to share, and some good drinks. We loved the tribute to the old Costco pizza and the meat lovers. Deep dish pizzas also looked to die for! Also, I’m gluten-free and LOVED their gluten-free pizza (usually I’m left feeling very disappointed but not here)!
Great for: date night, friend hangs, family dinners, and casual solo pizza nights out with your dog (they have two patios for dogs to sit). Kids are welcome too!
Make sure you make a reservation and try and carpool as parking around here is tough on a busy Friday/Saturday night.

BEWARE. The Gluten Free (GF) Labels on the menu mean GF options available for that dish, NOT that the dish is gluten free. Talk to your server about your order.
I was excited when seeing the GF labels all over the menu, especially when seeing that most of those dishes involved pita bread. Sadly after talking to the bartender I learned that their pita is (obviously) not GF. Their rice pilaf also has soy sauce in it, so do not just assume the dish is GF even though they are labeled GF. Service was great and the food was good. Pricey, but normal for the gaslamp area and it was very tasty.
Gluten free AND vegan?! Sign me up! This place is awesome! The donuts are delicious, they offer a huge variety of flavors, and the staff are all so nice, welcoming, and helpful.
The service was lovely and as someone with coeliac disease, I felt very safe eating here (the server let me know that the original owner’s wife is celiac, and so that made me feel like they would have a good understanding of cross-contamination). The eggs and hashbrowns were just OK and the chicken sausage and the pancake that I had were pretty good.
This place is fantastic.
I have celiac and a wheat/oat allergy and the staff was knowledgeable about all allergens for menu items. I had no bad reactions to the food afterward.
The food is delicious too - I'm an omnivore who eats vegan/vegetarian a decent amount. It stands amongst some of my favorite restaurants ever (non vegan included). Did not think it being vegan detracted from flavor whatsoever.
Highly recommend, especially if you have gluten sensitivity.
They have a different singular gluten-free option each week, but they are in the same display as their gluten donuts and the only separation is the wooden trays that they’re displayed on. I asked and all donuts are made in-house, but the man at the register couldn’t answer about if there is separation in time and space for the preparation of the gluten free donut flavor, as well how well the mixing bowls, ovens, and equipment are cleaned before making of the gluten-free donut. I chose to eat a chocolate donut which was delicious and didn’t get sick that day but I did have swollen joints a few days later but it could have been from any number of restaurants I ate at in the days before it started, so it IS risky. Cross-contamination is just evident… everywhere.
I liked the food and the staff was very nice and friendly, they seemed like they did want to be there. The food was good, there were many gluten friendly options. I also liked the drink options and flavors. the mimosas say they’re puree but it seemed more
like a puree syrup.
Officine Buona Forchetta's expansive menu accommodated our family's dietary needs and left us all well fed! From the artisan pizzas, build your own pasta dishes, to the gluten-free pizza crust, every selection was molto bene! 🤌 The staff were incredibly nice. The only slight criticism is the cocktails were weak.
Great gluten free options with a well labeled menu. Our Waiter said everything that goes in the fryer is gluten free (fried chicken, potatos, fries, etc)
Good prices too
I can’t say enough good things about this place! I have celiacs disease (gluten free) and they go above and beyond to ensure there is no cross contamination. The food is amazing and the service is awesome. We had Hailey as our server and she was kind, sweet, and attentive. We come from Phoenix a few times a year just to eat here. Love it!
We made a reservation for a family bday gathering and appreciated the thoughtful pre-dining service. Our outdoor seating location was beautiful with incredible views & comfortable seating.
Ketch has fantastic house brews & a great assortment of beverages. We selected Ketch due to ease of parking, gorgeous location, kids menu & gluten free options. We didn’t “ketch” happy hour, but it’s epic!
Service was swift and courteous; however, a few items were overlooked. Side of potatoes ordered but not delivered. Kids meals were missing whipped cream & a side of fruit & it took a 9 year old to point it out. Oopsie!
Food was decent, but there were mixed reviews.
- Skirt steak was well done instead of medium rare. They replaced the meal but still disappointing
- The birthday “boy” ordered a short rib sandwich, and it was reportedly mushy, luke warm & lacking flavor. Fries were a mix of perfectly cooked & underdone
- A poke bowl made “gluten free” means no farro (not sub rice, etc) & no sauce (they don’t offer tamari or any kind of gluten free sauce & no sriracha)
- breakfast burrito was good but needed salt, which seemed to be a regular theme
- Brussels sprouts are BOMB!!! Surf & turf dip was pretty yummy too
- Fruit side was delicious fresh melon & pineapple
- Delicious 🤤 unexpected free dessert for the bday “boy” with a candle
Enjoy this spot tremendously & hope they can pick I the slack where they’re sliding. Wishing our experience was a 5 instead of a 3.5/4, but family & ambiance made up for it! ❤️
Excellent vegan fast food, many gluten-free options and a knowledgeable staff. Dedicated fryer for gluten-free food items for my celiac baddies. Gluten-free bun tastes gluten free, but that's what you get.
A delicious little breakfast spot. Although there usually seems to be a line, I was lucky and didn't have to wait.
Their menu is varied but feels a bit limited, but the name says "pancakes."
The hash browns are greasy for not being so fried. The sausages are delicious paired with the pancakes, even the gluten-free ones.
It's nice to eat on their terrace; the weather is perfect.
The service was good, although despite the place not being full, the waiter forgot to bring me a juice I ordered. I don't know if it's customary in SD, but they brought us the bill before we ordered it, which seemed rude to us.
It’s been a few years since I have dined here as u was diagnosed with celiac disease and didn’t know how easy it is to dine gluten free here!!! I emailed ahead and got a reply within a day confirming that they have allergen protocols and a DEDICATED Gluten free fryer, can I get a hell yeah for safe fries?!?! I dined there this week and left with a happy belly. I’m super excited to add them to the list of safe places to eat!
Sam was out waitress and she was awesome ! Super nice & great energy. I appreciate her making sure the kitchen got my order correct & asked them to remake my plate because I needed it to be gluten free.
The staff were friendly and new exactly what precautions needed to be followed when I told them I had celiac disease. The menu has items that are marked as Gluten free or can be made Gluten free. Great atmosphere and yummy food!

Literally my favorite coffee shop in PB. The BEST clean eating gluten free bakery items and you'd never know. Their coffee is also low acid and SO good!!!
I sought this place out during a short trip to San Diego because it’s seed-oil free, is committed to using organic and whole ingredients, and has lots of gluten-free options.
Parakeet Café did not disappoint. I ordered their eggs and salmon w/ gluten free toast, and the acai bowl….they were both so good that I went I ordered the exact same thing at the Coronado location later that day. The staff were also nice.
Update:
We went to try their brunch. The food was great, we tried the salmon and the steak eggs Benedict. We also tried an eggplant dish. The appetizer salad was amazing, very fresh and flavourful.
There was one huge issue though, we had two people in our group with a food allergy and A.R. dropped the ball on providing a safe and allergy friendly experience. They brought out regular bread instead of gluten free. A bite was eaten off the bread before we realized it was not allergen friendly, it was regular bread. The manager came over and said that they would compensate our meal completely. She even encouraged we get dessert. She also informed us that the staffed was educated on the importance of being careful when serving people with allergies. We were satisfied with the resolution. However, when we asked for the original total of our check, so we can tip on the original amount, she informed us that we would have to pay for two of the entrees. We don't mind paying and never expected to get credited for the whole meal prior to her offering to do so, but it was something she offered and said would happen. It was off putting, why even offer it. My suggestion is to see if that is something you can do BEFORE offering to take care of the whole check.
Old review:
The food is great 90 percent of the time. They experiment with ingredients and have different dishes depending on the season. Usually, the dishes they serve are great. Some are fails but they make it right. Drinks are good too, my favorite is the paloma. They are wonderful with allergies and always accommodate my wheat allergy. They even have gluten-free biscuits! They go well with the charcuterie board.
The customer service is always on point, that's what keeps us coming back.
Free valet parking out front of the hotel.
My wife chose this place for their gluten-free options and positive reviews, and it did not disappoint!! Natalie was the best server ever! The manager was accommodating when we got there, and the food was fantastic! Our kids loved the watermelon juice, and I loved the root veggie juice. I could go on and on. What an amazing brunch!! Thanks, Natalie and team!!
Pleasantly surprised when we picked this place last minute. Food was DELICIOUS (gluten free brisket sandwhich and a burger) and to top it off we didnt know there was a small little outdoor play area for the kiddos!!! Saving this location for the couple times a year we are in the area!!
Sophia is such a sweetheart! I have celiac disease and she helped me pick out some gluten free treats. After ringing me up she complimented my necklace and told me to have a great day. Will be back!!
Great place for eating gluten free. Menu has gluten free items clearly marked. When I asked about adding a pro my salad, server made sure I understood that all their proteins are grilled (no breading or coating) so no gluten goes on the grill.
Dietary restriction diners beware. I ordered a vegan entree and was served dairy butter along with it, which luckily I was smart enough to ask the waitress about before taking a bite. If a diner orders off the vegan menu, and the entree comes with butter, WHY would it be non-vegan butter?
However, the server was kind, the food was tasty, and the restaurant was nice. I appreciated how well labelled the menu was for dietary restrictions (I am also gluten free) but would hesitate to return given the severity of that error.
We were seated quickly, no waiting. The food came quick enough. The gluten free waffles are amazing, I added bananas. If you're gluten free def worth a visit. The strawberry crepes and baked apple pancakes were big hits at our table. Service was really great, top notch, highly recommend
