I've been Gluten Free for over 10 years. Josephine's bread, waffles, rolls and pastries are the best of any bakery, without exception, that I have enjoyed since being diagnosed with Celiac.
Love this gem. The food is so delicious and the smoothies are out of this world. Everything is organic, vegan, and gluten free. This place is a must try even if you don’t have dietary restrictions. This is because the food is fantastic!
I tried their birria quesadillas made with corn shells. The meat had great flavor. The birria broth had a touch too much cinnamon for my taste, but it was still good. They were very accommodating with my gluten allergy. The waiter was able to tell me what was gluten-free and what I should avoid. I really appreciate it when the wait staff can answer my questions regarding allergens.
It was a busy night. All the tables inside were full. The hostess opened the enclosed patio (with heaters), so I didn't have to wait, which I was totally fine with. Inside was very loud with people talking over the music and other people, so I was grateful to sit on the patio and enjoy my dinner.
Small restaurant but food is yummy! They also have gluten free noodle (I believe it's buckwheat) options which is always a plus! You can choose egg, udon or gluten free.
We love coming back to this restaurant year after year for their delicious food and exceptional service! The staff are so friendly and helpful. Everything is made fresh and delicious and there are some unique dishes to pick form. There is gluten free pasta available for the pasta dishes. Really great quality food. Portion sizes were very reasonable for a dish, nothing too crazy. Definitely get a dessert! The chicken piccata was very well made, the risotto was a Greta vegetarian dish, and the pasta are all incredible.
This is my go-to mexican restaurant. Their food is always fresh and delicious. I have a gluten allergy, and they do their best to accommodate. I normally order the burrito dorados with corn shells instead of flour tortillas. I tend to go in the off hours either between lunch and dinner or after dinner rush so it's normally quiet. They also have outside seating, which is a nice option.
Very limited menu of steak or Portobello mushrooms. If you don't eat steak there are no other protein options. The mushroom was good. The fries and mushrooms are gluten free.
It was a great find! I have a gluten allergy, so I'm always cautious of where and what I order. I'm glad I took a chance on Caddies. The staff is always super friendly. I order the bone-in wings, and they are the best I've had since moving here. I've tried the buffalo wings, and they were not too spicy, which I enjoyed. I've also tried their bbq wings, which are my favorite. I definitely will be back.
I went here on a Saturday right before rush hour seemed to hit. It was not crowded until much later into our meal. I found the seats comfortable and staff friendly and attentive.
Beer: This has a much greater range of options that anyplace that isn't a beer specialty restaurant. They also have seasonal and specials (being October there was some pumpkin flavors, gross). They serve in several sizes the largest being 25oz. Which lasted me an entire meal and for only $7.50 I felt I got my moneys worth out of it compared to a cocktail. I recommend knowing what you like or asking for a sample tasting before getting a giant beer. For price and variety of flavors and sizes this was excellent.
Food: You'll find the classic American style of options but also some extra options you wouldn't expect. I ended up with a Mac N cheese with chicken and bacon mixed in. This was excellent, and they have a separate gluten free menu. However it should be noted that the menu is "gluten sensitive" and may not be for people with Celiac's. I would inform the server of your allergy to double check they prepare it safely.
Serve went very well and I know not everyone will have the same experience. But hopefully the resturant will make amends for your issue. For the few times I've been I found this to be a pleasant experience and a price point to match.
Such a great little cafe! Stopped in here an ordered a hot latte, an iced chai, a crugel, and a vegan/gluten free muffin. My friend and I really enjoyed both our drinks and food, I thought the crugel was particularly delicious!
The man at the bar is very friendly. They have an allergen menu for Dairy, Gluten, Vegan, and some other popular concerns, which was produced as soon as I mentioned food restrictions.
Food: I'll do my best to post the pictures (I'm not seeing an option at the moment). I got the brisket, the ribs, and the onion rings. The portions aren't large by BBQ standards, but they are filling. The brisket was flavorful and tender. The ribs were small. The sauces are the same except one has a hint of spice. Both ketchup based. Nothing impressive, so it's good that the brisket has enough flavor that the sauce isn't really necessary. The onion rings were good, too. Crispy outside and flavorful inside.
I did finish all of the meats I bought, which is a sign of good food. If I was more of a local, I imagine I'd be back for the friendship as much as the food, as the locals are quite friendly and upbeat, but are also willing to let you do you.
Beverages: Most drinks here are by the bottle or by the can. The range is good, going from popular drinks like Water, Dr. Pepper, Coke, Mountain Dew, etc., to craft beers. Plus there's a bar.
Atmosphere: This place is reminiscent of a local dive bar in a good way. When I came in, everyone coming in after me, knew each other. Due to its location in downtown Bethesda, the property is rather small, but it still has 4 tables (technically 7 sections that seat 2 people each, with bar stool or chair seating options) and at least 5 seats at the bar. There's a hand-wash station conveniently located at the opposite end of the bar. During my visit, the music playing was Queen, Matchbox 20, Elton John, Billy Joel, Simon & Garfunkel, etc.
Price: The price is about the same as the prices for 2 Fifty (2-Fifty is the highest quality BBQ in the area). I can see how this price might affect people's ratings. A 2-meat platter with mandatory side, plus a can of Dr. Pepper at Smoke BBQ ran me $27.
