Nostalgia and location is the only thing that keeps them open.
The little house was beautiful and I am so happy it was saved and remodeled.
The pies were a massive disappointment. All were gluten free, so the crust is squishy and gummy. The fillings didn't taste right at all. The lemon one was straight up gross. Better to eat a cold poptart and walk through the house if you want a treat.
This place has become a staple for me and my family when we’re in town. They offer a gluten free/cauliflower option which is amazing and the ingredients always taste fresh and feel like they’ve been make with care. The staff is friendly and the positive vibes are at an 11. The only negative I can give is there aren’t more locations near me. Love it while you’re there, miss it when you’re away. 😘
Gluten free friendly. Gluten free soy sauce and they do up a non marinated chicken for me and do Gluten free fried rice. Sushi is great and always taste good and fresh.
Love the texture of these croissant donuts-- more tooth than an ordinary donut but still delicate. I really liked the caramel topping. Staff was friendly and answered questions about the flavors and gluten free options.
The food was incredibly tasty. Every single bite was a delight. The wine couldn't have been better. The attentive service was very courteous and friendly. Pasta and pizza could be ordered gluten-free, which is a great relief if you have a gluten intolerance. An all-around perfect evening. Always happy to return whenever we come to Oceanside.
I went here for coffee and breakfast and wish I would have been able to visit every day of my trip. I ate on the patio and even tho it was kind of chilly out, the heaters made it very comfortable. I looked at a lot of nearby spots and this one stood out as mentioning gluten-free options on their website and also offering gluten-free pancakes. They were delicious, as were the eggs, and the bacon was a hefty serving and cooked to perfection. My hubs joined me late and had the avo edamame toast - it was soooo yummy! The fresh fruit bowl (we were hungry, lol) was a lovely surprise in that it actually had more berries than melon (like most places) and they were fresh. The lattes were amazing, and I loved the variety of flavors and that they had milk alternatives. I had the vanilla bean latte - it’s a pretty simple drink but I’ve found I can tell a lot about how a place does coffee based on their approach to the old standby of vanilla. This one was creamy, delicious, not bitter, not overly sweet, and came with a lovely design in the froth. The place was casual, comfortable, and had a really positive vibe. I’d go back in a heartbeat!
Looking for a place to get coffee? Look
no more!! Camp
Coffee is amazing, not too
sweet and the ingredients taste real! The combos and flavors pair really well together. I’ve worked in the neighborhood two years and tried just about everything on the menu! All fantastic. If you prefer your coffee sweeter, add extra vanilla! they are always welcoming in people in need and never turn them away just because they are homeless. They never judge! They offer the best hospitality you can find at a coffee shop (: They offer vegan and gluten free treats x which are amazing! Cute and stylish merch for everyone. Camp Coffee will be missed when I move. You can bring your doggy! Outside seating with shade too (:
Then please did an excellent job catering to our dietary and special needs. Thank you very much for your care we choose in and out because most of them are great for gluten free and you did not disappoint.
Absolutely delicious! Excellent food and service, I loved my eggs benny on gluten free bread. Nothing but good vibes from this family owned cafe. Great prices for the portion size. Paula was very welcoming. Will be back soon!
I'll start by saying...whatever grading system you use, 5/5 or 10/10, A++ or 100% - allmine is one of the best restaurants around! Whether with friends, family or people asking for North Country recommendations - we always make a point to send them to this restaurant. It's absolutely superb and will knock it out of the park each time.
Below are some of our favorites as a house of vegetarians but I will say - we take non-veggies here all the time and they absolutely rave.
- House Baked Bread w/ garlic oil and sofrito butter - listen.. you could split this between 4 people or you could treat yourself and just enjoy it to yourself. There are no wrong answers except not ordering this every time you come. And a hot tip? Order an extra to go and make sandwiches same day or next day - its divine.
- Brie Involtinis - like a cinnamon roll but savory with brie. Drizzle honey all over the top and I could eat 100 of these
- Bianca Pizza - I think about this pizza at least once a week. They have other, phenomenal pizzas but this is the one my husband and I always go back for. thinly slided potatoes, roasted garlic, ricotta, rosemary. And don't forget to put their homemade chili oils on it. They have two spicy levels and honestly I love them on top or for a little bit of crust dipping at the end
- Cannoli - Any of them. I'm a gluten for all things chocolate so the Chocolate S'Mores? I have dreams about that cannoli. But my husband also goes crazy for the citrus. Even if you haven't saved room... give this a try at least once!
The above are just our highlights but the pasta, starters and other pizzas are always fantastic. And not to be forgotten, the staff and atmosphere they create is amazing. Roxana is the owner and you can tell she's put her everything in to the restaurant and her staff is equally bought in and wonderful. So in conclusion, date night, special occasion, large party/small party or just because - definitely check out allmine again and again.
For us - with a 1 year old - this place is amazing. We can relax while our baby plays, the food is good, and there is basically every type of drink. Lots of gluten free options, too!
Ordered leek & potato soup. It tasted fishy and looked the color of a lobster bisque with fried leeks on top. I ordered a side of salmon and they gave me an entire dish instead. The salmon tasted fishy and the coleslaw that was included tasted old. I’m easy going and definitely not picky and actually felt pretty nauseated after eating.
My husband ordered a chicken salad gluten free and it came with the fried leeks.
Spent $50 for what ended up being a disappointing dinner unfortunately. The atmosphere seemed cool but I can’t say I would order from here again or make the effort to dine in.
Came here last weekend specifically because the menu says everything can be made gluten free. The hostess confirmed this. Excited to try something new I tried a spicy noddle dish that is not traditionally gluten free, but ordered it gluten free. It was the most bland and tasteless thai food I've ever had. I told the waitress this, and she said that she always feels bad when people order gluten free because she knows it will be bland. I told her I would have appreciated knowing that before I ordered, because I would have gone with something like pad thai or curry that is naturally gf but still very flavorful. They gave me soy sauce, limes, and peanut sauce to attempt to add flavor to it. I believe that they didn't give me gluten free soy sauce, or the peanut sauce wasn't gf as stated, because I had a terrible reaction to the food and was sick for four days. I haven't gotten sick from eating out in a long time, it wasn't a good experience.
It is better to not offer gf options, than to offer something gf that you know will be bad.
Oh my goodness - Best meal I have ever had. You HAVE to go here. Got the roti and curry and immediately wanted to order three more 😆, and the tofu rendang. Both were incomparable to any dish I have ever had - so creative, like nothing you’ve ever tasted. Perfectly seasoned, generous portions, perfect amount of spiciness that compliments the flavor just right. I’m in love!!!!! And every person we spoke to was so sweet, helpful and attentive. Also had the sesame ice cream - so far beyond normal ice cream. Amazing.
I was so full after eating all of that and still wanted more just because the flavors were so masterful. Mind blowlingly amazing experience. We’re still talking about it the next day. Has a vegan/vegetarian and gluten free menu.
Very disappointed overall. The ambiance is great, but the service was so slow, the waiter seemed rushed and our daughter has celiac and he didn't appear to understand what gluten free meant or offer any accommodations for her. My clam chowder was bland, tased like something from a can and the crab cakes were equally disappointing. I eat better seafood in Denver :-(. Worst yet, I got food poisoning and hours after eating was violently ill and it ruined a day of our vacation, because I was up all night sick. Such a bummer - I am not one to write reviews, but I was super disappointed in this experience.
Our family had everything from pasta to gluten free pizza and it was all great. The service was very friendly...outstanding in fact. Highly recommend it.
Fulton free family member, asked for pie/dessert Hilton free products. The sales person what I wanted was Hilton free. Went home has celiac, will never go back to this place again.
Amazing dishes bursting with flavor. They also have gluten free noodles for the ramen & they’re so similar to the real deal! You can tell expertise and love is put into each dish. Delicious, thanks Chef!
My wife and I were out in Ocean Side looking for a sit and a sandwich when Rye’s and Grind came up in our search. Even though their menu didn’t explicitly state that they had a gluten free option, we opted to give them a call. The staff informed us they could accommodate my dietary restrictions and would do their best to take extra precautions to prevent cross contamination on their cook top.
My wife ordered a pastrami sandwich while I opted for the Gluten Free Motley Loo. Both sandwiches were extremely well appointed with some of the tastiest pastrami I’ve had this side of the Mississippi.
The staff informed me that though the latkes were made without gluten, their fryers were a cross contamination risk, so their steak fries, tots, latkes, and rosemary home fries would be off limits for me. Thankfully, their coleslaw and potato salad were delightful and rich so I didn’t feel left out of the side order game.
My wife reported her latkes were top notch, and they came with all of the condiments you could possibly want including what tasted like homemade salsas.
On top of the top notch service and food, the coffee was hot, rich, and bold, which is what we needed on a surprisingly rainy day in Southern California.
Everything about my experience with Rye’s and Grind was above and beyond. I cannot commend the staff enough for the compassion, service, and attention the team gave us even at the end of their day.
If you’re thinking about going to Rye’s and Grind but can’t make a decision, just go. The team, food, venue, and coffee were all top notch.
The food is good. They have gluten free options which are much appreciated. The service hasn't always been amazing but we were once informed that they were short-staffed.
That day, the tables next to us had dirty plates piled on them the entire time we were seated. Having worked at restaurants, I can understand why they did not prioritize bussing the table but it was gross.
The servers are kind and attentive, even when they are busy.
Celebrated my birthday with a brunch here on the water! The outdoor atmosphere is incredible, service was great, and they had a wide variety of options including gluten free. I can’t wait to go back
I had high expectations for this restaurant...it came recommended from a local wine bar owner we figured knew the local food scene....plus it is in the same building our resort is at.
Well....I was a bit disappointed! For a restaurant located across the street from an ocean...the seafood options were somewhat limited....and limited "surf and turf" options!
I had the 8oz flatiron, Oscar style...(which was an option) and for the amount of the upcharge...I was expecting more.
The flatiron seemed to be a poor cut. Flavor was okay at best and it did not eat like prior flatiron steaks I have had including cuts prepared by myself! Temp was right....but just not a great steak considering price for an 8oz cut.
The rosemary sourdough rolls they delivered to us before dinner were amazing, and I did really like the Cesar salad! Perfectly dressed and great flavor!
They had many gluten free options and they were clearly marked! Just a note... Wednesdays are "wine night" so they had select half priced bottles. Not a "great" selection but we found a bottle we liked.
Our server was very friendly and did a great job. The atmosphere helped! It has a great "updated dark steak club" feel!
So there is a lot to like....but I was expecting perfection and it was not perfect.
The rest of the table did state their meals were"very good "!
No gluten-free meal options, but the smoothies were great. My daughter ordered a sunset fire pit Panini with roast beef and cheese, which she said was amazing. They only serve food from 9 to 2 just to be warned. Looks like there is new ownership or rebranding. Location cannot be beat! Right on the beach with a nice park and picnic style seating as well.
I have eaten here twice so far and I will definitely be back again! They have many gluten free options which is amazing but the gf biscuit and duck butter is something I will crave! Also make sure to get the dipping sauce flight for delicious elevated dips. The service is always quick and friendly and the atmosphere is fun and causal. Don’t forget to check out their patio.
Oceanside California is known for its cafés and it looks like we've got another gem in the rough now opened on S Coast Hwy.
High Tide Coffee Co is no opened to the community and they offer a nice variance to the coffee scene in the area.
High Tide Coffee Co is located within the RISING CO building complex just off of S Coast Hwy.
So make sure you look for that signage.
They've got a shared parking lot in the front and street parking available on both side streets.
This is good for now, but it MAY pose an issue during busy hours.
It's a good thing they are also on DoorDash and take pre-orders online & via call-in.
The entire vibe is for their branding is cute and inviting.
Their interior is very trendy-earthy and colorful.
But one shortcoming is that they have minimal seating options inside. There are only 3 tables.
Luckily, their exterior seating has more benches and group-seating options.
Their service is fast, friendly, warm and inviting.
I love their merchandising with the cute logos.
Their menu consists of staple classics like:
cold brew, espresso, americano, latté, macchiato, cortado, cappuccino, and mocha.
They also have specialty options like:
lavender honey, rose cardamom, snickerdoodle, candy orange mocha, chachaccino, matcha chaga, and moon milk.
They also have a few teas and hot cocoa.
For foods, they have some solid basics like:
breakfast burrito, acai bowls, avocado toast, assorted pastries and granola & chia parfait.
I especially appreciate that many of their pastries are vegan & gluten-free.
I enjoyed my seasonal special drink, the Espresso Paloma and it was a tasty variant to the typical coffee drink. I also enjoyed my snickerdoodle latté.
I'd like to make a small note to pet owners:
Although there's a notice that they DO NOT ALLOW PETS (only service animals) - this is not strictly enforced : thank goodness.
Overall, I like what High Tide Coffee Co is bringing to the area and they provide a nice variation to the 'average café' and they have personality.
Great place to visit and right off the main street. If you didn't pay attention as we did not, it's slightly set back in a strip of shops right in the corner.
Excellent selection of foods and some great pastries -- including Gluten Free and Vegan options. We got the banana cake and it was delicious! They also heated up the croissant for our kiddos.
Full complement of breakfast beverages as well as local kombucha.
Best bagel shop in oside.. They have always had incredible service, are fast even when busy, and are kind to their customers. Highly recommend everyone to try, plus they have gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options 🥰
We came here new to the area and gluten-free. We were helped by the staff and had an amazing experience. Food was made to our dietary restrictions and tasted amazing. Thanks for the excellent experience 😀
The ambiance was soooooo wonderdul! Low lights in the evening, live music, heaters, happy hour lasted until LATE with GREAT eats & drinks deals! Our waitress was amazing & so cute & friendly, after my first time here last week, I keep going back! It's my new fav place! Brunch last Sunday didn't dissapoint!
Also, if you're gluten free, there's a bakery next door that you can get a gluten-free bread & the restaurant will cook it up & add it too your meal for you! (i.e. eggs Benedict)
My friend ordered online a gluten free French dip sandwich on a gluten free roll. She was given a pound of meat on a tortilla. After calling the restaurant, they said they didn't offer rolls even though she ordered from the restaurant online. She asked for her money back, they gave her the run around and then told her she would get a refund and it never happened even after talking to the manager and him also saying she would get a refund. She called over 4 times to no avail. It eas for an Easter dinner since she was working. So sad.
Pannikin is a north county staple! The coffee is fantastic & the historic vibes of the properties they operate out of adds so much charm!
Please please carry the gluten free pineapple muffins at this location! That’s the one thing missing compared to the Leucadia location.
