We ordered two dozen for my daughter who has celiac. They were shipped to us and we were so sad at this purchase. I paid $4 each and the doatnut wasn’t bad, it was horrendous said one son. Something’s you gotta let drown, you can’t save it, said another son. The topping seemed to be made from stevia sugar which made it taste very sour. I sliced that part off and added fresh frosting and sprinkles and we all agreed, nope it didn’t taste better. My kids struggle already having options that are gluten free, but the sugar free went too far. I can’t believe I made this purchase and disappointed 30 of my guests. I am extremely disappointed. Don’t believe the hype.
Love the texture of these croissant donuts-- more tooth than an ordinary donut but still delicate. I really liked the caramel topping. Staff was friendly and answered questions about the flavors and gluten free options.
I went here for coffee and breakfast and wish I would have been able to visit every day of my trip. I ate on the patio and even tho it was kind of chilly out, the heaters made it very comfortable. I looked at a lot of nearby spots and this one stood out as mentioning gluten-free options on their website and also offering gluten-free pancakes. They were delicious, as were the eggs, and the bacon was a hefty serving and cooked to perfection. My hubs joined me late and had the avo edamame toast - it was soooo yummy! The fresh fruit bowl (we were hungry, lol) was a lovely surprise in that it actually had more berries than melon (like most places) and they were fresh. The lattes were amazing, and I loved the variety of flavors and that they had milk alternatives. I had the vanilla bean latte - it’s a pretty simple drink but I’ve found I can tell a lot about how a place does coffee based on their approach to the old standby of vanilla. This one was creamy, delicious, not bitter, not overly sweet, and came with a lovely design in the froth. The place was casual, comfortable, and had a really positive vibe. I’d go back in a heartbeat!
Wonderful customer service by this son-mom duo eatery. The green juice made me feel healthy at the first sip. Deliciously tasty rice pudding (arroz con leche) and cheese bread (gluten-free). Happy to support this local business.
Looking for a place to get coffee? Look
no more!! Camp
Coffee is amazing, not too
sweet and the ingredients taste real! The combos and flavors pair really well together. I’ve worked in the neighborhood two years and tried just about everything on the menu! All fantastic. If you prefer your coffee sweeter, add extra vanilla! they are always welcoming in people in need and never turn them away just because they are homeless. They never judge! They offer the best hospitality you can find at a coffee shop (: They offer vegan and gluten free treats x which are amazing! Cute and stylish merch for everyone. Camp Coffee will be missed when I move. You can bring your doggy! Outside seating with shade too (:
Absolutely delicious! Excellent food and service, I loved my eggs benny on gluten free bread. Nothing but good vibes from this family owned cafe. Great prices for the portion size. Paula was very welcoming. Will be back soon!
One of our favorite coffee places in North County. The vibe here is super chill and the service is always great. Also love that they have lots of gluten free and vegan treats! Try the pop tarts, they are amazing.
Fulton free family member, asked for pie/dessert Hilton free products. The sales person what I wanted was Hilton free. Went home has celiac, will never go back to this place again.
Love this place. Quick, tasty and right across the street from the beach. They have great acai bowls and you can get gluten free oats in them. Bacon and eggs is always a good choice, get it in the bowl if you want to save a couple bucks and don’t need hash browns etc
Nice location and good coffee. In oceanside we don't have a shortage of gastro pubs, pizza and coffee. It seems there is a coffee joint every half block. In some cases there are coffee joints right next to coffee joints. Its tough to stand out. While Vigilante does not stant out it has a very nice space and a good small menu. They also have a couple of gluten free treats. There is a good bit of seating and they let dogs in. They have some outside seating but there was someone smoking there when I visited which was a bummer. Still I'd go to here over many local options.
Excellent chips and salsa to start. I got the burrito combo (beef) and my wife got the taquitos beef). The food was tasty, the refried beans we're excellent, and the guacamole was fantastic. The service was very friendly. My wife has to eat gluten free and had no issues. They had no concerns with our (well behaved) service dog. Totally recommended.
I came in to get a quick breakfast. Large menu but a nice menu in deed. Sandra was my waitress. She was friendly and I was surprised she had so many tables in her area. I order a fried egg, bacon, potatoes and a gluten free English muffin. I was looking forward in having breakfast. I never got my breakfast. After 35 minutes waiting for it I just didn’t have the time to eat. I don’t know if she forgot to put my order or if she was overwhelmed with the amount of tables she had. I told her I couldn’t wait any longer and that I had to leave. She apologize but her apology was not going to fix the experience I had at this place. The least she could have done was letting her customers know that the kitchen was backed up or that our food was on its way but no. No communication at all. Maybe she should stop checking on her phone less and check on her customers more often.
My wife and I were out in Ocean Side looking for a sit and a sandwich when Rye’s and Grind came up in our search. Even though their menu didn’t explicitly state that they had a gluten free option, we opted to give them a call. The staff informed us they could accommodate my dietary restrictions and would do their best to take extra precautions to prevent cross contamination on their cook top.
My wife ordered a pastrami sandwich while I opted for the Gluten Free Motley Loo. Both sandwiches were extremely well appointed with some of the tastiest pastrami I’ve had this side of the Mississippi.
The staff informed me that though the latkes were made without gluten, their fryers were a cross contamination risk, so their steak fries, tots, latkes, and rosemary home fries would be off limits for me. Thankfully, their coleslaw and potato salad were delightful and rich so I didn’t feel left out of the side order game.
My wife reported her latkes were top notch, and they came with all of the condiments you could possibly want including what tasted like homemade salsas.
On top of the top notch service and food, the coffee was hot, rich, and bold, which is what we needed on a surprisingly rainy day in Southern California.
Everything about my experience with Rye’s and Grind was above and beyond. I cannot commend the staff enough for the compassion, service, and attention the team gave us even at the end of their day.
If you’re thinking about going to Rye’s and Grind but can’t make a decision, just go. The team, food, venue, and coffee were all top notch.
The food is good. They have gluten free options which are much appreciated. The service hasn't always been amazing but we were once informed that they were short-staffed.
That day, the tables next to us had dirty plates piled on them the entire time we were seated. Having worked at restaurants, I can understand why they did not prioritize bussing the table but it was gross.
The servers are kind and attentive, even when they are busy.
Celebrated my birthday with a brunch here on the water! The outdoor atmosphere is incredible, service was great, and they had a wide variety of options including gluten free. I can’t wait to go back
Best French toast! Great atmosphere! Staff is friendly and kitchen is fast! Also, they can do most items gluten-free. Gluten-free waffle, pancake, ect but some items will be cross contaminated.
This place doesn’t look nice from outside but was an amazing surprise.
Service, food and location is awesome.
Many gluten free options (healthy ones) and organic and tasty food.
Great place to visit and right off the main street. If you didn't pay attention as we did not, it's slightly set back in a strip of shops right in the corner.
Excellent selection of foods and some great pastries -- including Gluten Free and Vegan options. We got the banana cake and it was delicious! They also heated up the croissant for our kiddos.
Full complement of breakfast beverages as well as local kombucha.
Best bagel shop in oside.. They have always had incredible service, are fast even when busy, and are kind to their customers. Highly recommend everyone to try, plus they have gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options 🥰
Highly recommend. We were passing thru. This little restaurant had great food. One of our party is Gluten-free, another is vegetarian. No problems. Service and food were both excellent.
Love that I can eat here being gluten free! The manager was super helpful answering questions and was more than willing to make sure none of my food was cross-contaminated as I have a severe allergy. Best customer service!
The ambiance was soooooo wonderdul! Low lights in the evening, live music, heaters, happy hour lasted until LATE with GREAT eats & drinks deals! Our waitress was amazing & so cute & friendly, after my first time here last week, I keep going back! It's my new fav place! Brunch last Sunday didn't dissapoint!
Also, if you're gluten free, there's a bakery next door that you can get a gluten-free bread & the restaurant will cook it up & add it too your meal for you! (i.e. eggs Benedict)
Wonderful little coffee shop on the way to a beach in Oceanside. There are plus to plug in and work, lovely light beachy atmosphere. Had a salted carmel Latte and gluten free blueberry maple muffin. I loved the muffin. So yummy! My iced Latte was really good too. Two drinks and 1 muffin was just under $20 so very reasonable with the prices. They have outdoor seating too!
Pannikin is a north county staple! The coffee is fantastic & the historic vibes of the properties they operate out of adds so much charm!
Please please carry the gluten free pineapple muffins at this location! That’s the one thing missing compared to the Leucadia location.
Esteban is outstanding and attentive, even when the place is packed, thank you.
Both of our meals were surprisingly gluten-free and really good.
If you are looking for a great flavor go with the Ranchers Omelette. A slightly milder flavor is the Huevis Rancheros. Both are winners for us, simply pick your flavor strength.
Delicious açaí bowl! Loved that they offer a banana-free base and nut/gluten-free granola. The açaí was top-notch. Jayla was so sweet and patient, even when I asked the same questions multiple times. I also saw her give bananas to a young homeless man. The owner shared that they always offer food to unhoused people who aren’t intoxicated—so much heart. Highly recommend!
