A really lovely place to meet friends for a coffee. They also cater for a gluten free diet and are very careful about cross contamination. Food and drinks are delicious ans served by very helpful and friendly staff. My go to place when meeting with friends
Yummy food and great service. Choose your base, crepes, American Pancakes, omelette, savoury or sweet, gluten free ,vegan. Was able to choose high protein meal enabling me to stay on my eating plan whilst out. Gorgeous food and great service. Will definately be back
Great for gluten-free people, plenty of options! Portions could be a bit bigger. I was still hungry after the main with a side. I also like the fact that you can see the kcal on the menu and thereby make an informed choice!
'Bacon roll and a flat white, please.'
'Is that a sandwich or a brioche?'
'Umm,' looks at menu, which actually says bacon *butty*. 'Sandwich, please.'
'Brown or white bread?'
'Brown.'
'Gluten free?'
'No.'
'Any other allergies?'
'Is that back bacon?'
'Blue milk?'
'Full caffeine?'
Me: 'Is there any tomato sauce?'
Staff were very friendly, service was very quick.
But. The pie was lackluster. The crust was not good, it's apparently gluten free and seems to make a big difference.
The filling was great, but didn't make up for the crust. Thick and grainy crust which kind of hid the small quantity of filling inside....

Came here spontaneously and was welcomed warmly and served very quickly. Karen was a very entertaining, chatty and informative server. Helped our friend with her Gluten Free options. What a treat to the company she was!
The very handsome Alan was very attentive and helpful with my gluten free requirements, unfortunately no waffles but he did make me some lovely gf pancakes instead. My besty had a pistachio waffle which was delicious, beautiful interior with comfy seats, will definately visit again soon 😋
We had chicken fajitas. The chicken was a little bit overcooked but overall it wasn’t bad. My Husband ordered a gluten-free beer. It was the best he’s had on our travels. I think it was called the stinking hen. The best part of the whole experience was the Romanian waiter/owner not quite sure. He was entertaining the whole time taught us a lot of about the Romanian culture and general world history 👍good food and much laughter What else can you ask for while dining?

Me and my partner come here all the time and it never lets us down!! Jen and Ben gave us amazing service and some fab recommendations on drinks. I had the katsu and my partner had the smash burger. Both were phenomenal, and they were able to help with his celiac requirements. 11/10 would recommend <3

First time trying the gluten free fish and chips ,it was delicious and fantastic. Will definitely be coming again on my next visit.Love the interior and atmosphere too
☺️
Don’t expect Michelin Star quality but for TGI Fridays this has to be one of the best branches of TGI Fridays I have ever been to,this branch is the perfect example of how the TGI Fridays experience should be and how a TGI Fridays restaurant should be run. It is clear to see that this branch has robust management. This branch offers the proper experience that this chain is renowned for. The service was fabulous,Lydia and the manager were very polite and we were served quickly. The manager was very accommodating with my order! The atmosphere is lovely and also the decor is classic timeless American decor. The Toilets were not the best I have seen at TGI Fridays but not the worst. The food was absolutely delicious,I am pleased that the Potato Skins are back to how they used to be. The Nachos were delicious,it had a slight kick to them but it was not overpowering at all. I liked the dips too. It was nicely presented but the portion size was a bit merge. The main was delicious too,I ordered the Classic Half Rack of Ribs which were some of the best Ribs I have ever had in the U.K. The Ribs were really tender too. The BBQ sauce was delicious too,so smoky and so delicious. The Slaw was Ok too. Despite the outstanding quality of the Ribs,I think that 21 pounds is a bit steep in terms of value but I would not object to ordering it again. The Bacon and Cheese Fries were delicious, having the BBQ dip with the Ribs really added flavour to the Chips because I just dipped them in. They have a lovely array of gluten free options too,I would like to see the Fridays Sesame Chicken Strips as a gluten free option. Everything was so beautifully presented. We decided to visit this specific TGI branch in Southampton because of easier access. If I found myself in Southampton I would definitely dine here again and I would recommend this restaurant if you are hungry in Southampton. TGI Fridays is the perfect end to a happy day out. Also there are 3 hotels practically on site too and I would recommend you dine here if you are staying at the hotels.
Lovely food and staff. Ran out of gluten free Yorkshire puddings but the staff made a special effort and made me two! It was very much appreciated as I know dietary requirements can be a pain in the arse. Been here twice, would definitely recommend.
Jaison was great in the dining room for breakfast and taking our daughter’s special celiac order.
Location is great, right next to dock 8.
Rooms were “okay.” Our biggest issue were no flat sheet on the beds and the sheets and blanket that were provided sounded like crinkle paper. It was hard to sleep with anyone moving. The A/C also defaulted to a hot temperature at midnight and we had to turn the air back on.
The second room was spacious and other room, was not. Note for anyone that has hip/knee issues, the shower is a step in bath tub without any grip bars (be prepared).
Overall, really nice hotel for the location.
Great food, safe for gluten free diners with clear easy-to-access allergen guidance. Tasty cocktails - we didn't realise there was a 2 4 1, bonus! Service friendly and welcoming from Tabs and Francesco
My partner and I had dinner here with my parents as the restaurant is ideally located just 5mins walk from Mayflower theatre. We always struggle to find a restaurant with plenty of options as my parents are vegetarian and celiac respectively but that was not a problem at La Tavernetta. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was cosy and felt authentic and we all had a lovely experience. The owner took personally tended to our table and his service was so pleasant and charming, it was lovely to hear about the history of this family owned business. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a quality, reasonably priced meal (lunch or dinner) and we will definitely come again if in the area.
A lovely end of school year treat for some very tired teaching assistants!! We all enjoyed a fantastic afternoon tea, beautifully presented and delicious. Our gluten free lady was really well catered for and enjoyed everything on offer. The staff were lovely and we all left feeling very full and happy. Will definitely be coming back. X
Pre-theatre dinner, really good staff, front of house and chef who came out to chat, great food. Gluten free? No problem. All done in time for arrival at Mayflower
Had a very tasty and reasonably priced Vegan cooked breakfast. My friend who is a Coeliac also enjoyed her gluten free bacon sandwich. Always a good strong cup of tea served. Staff are so friendly and food always good
Revised at the weekend, rate everything now 5 stars, what a great place. Kate congratulations to you on your food, service of your staff brilliant and atmosphere, furniture, surroundings - great!
Been multiple times before with my daughter, and she thoroughly enjoys it. Great range of craft activities and pottery to paint. Lovely end result for the pottery too after it goes in the kiln...I can't understand why they have so many items that customers don't return to collect! Lovely helpful staff, especially Lisa of course. 5 star effort in ensuring she caters for coeliacs too. You can tell the staff enjoy working at the crafty bug.
Very good value fresh Portuguese food. Could deal with gluten and dairy allergies with no problem. Friendly knowledgeable staff. We had a great lunch here. Recommended
🌴 A Hidden Gem in Southampton’s Ocean Village
If you’re seeking a vibrant dining experience with a tropical flair, look no further than Banana Wharf in Ocean Village. This waterfront restaurant offers a delightful blend of contemporary cuisine, stunning marina views, and a relaxed atmosphere that transports you to sunnier climes.
🍽️ Culinary Delights
Banana Wharf’s menu is a testament to culinary creativity, fusing oriental and tropical flavors with classic seafood dishes. Standout offerings include the aromatic Nasi Goreng with honey chicken and tiger prawns, and the succulent half-lobster grilled in garlic butter. Vegetarians and gluten-free diners are well-catered for, with options like gluten-free pizzas and Thai Green Curry
Lovely place, great atmosphere, food is lovely, definitely one of the nicer bars/pubs in Southampton. However, as someone who is allergic to gluten they have very limited options to drink. The only gluten free alcoholic drink they offer is Purbeck cider which in my opinion is just not very nice. Considering they have so many ales etc available they could have one more cider or a gluten free beer, they're pretty common nowadays.
We had a 50th birthday party here, The management was very helpful with all are requests.
We have been here before and it was great no problems with are meal where happy to come again, but on 10/1/2025 this occasion we were gluten and would suggest if you are coeliac or are gluten intolerance best avoided at busy times.
I visited with a friend who is c
Celiac, we qued for 5 mins ,and when she reached the top of the que she asked the member of staff which cakes were gluten free?He refused to tell her and directed her to the website. This meant that she then had to go away and scroll through the options, and qué up again, instead she gave up.Why can't you label the food?
Walking through the door was an indication of what was going to follow.
Simply great reception from the staff and the lovely fish in the aquarium.
We walked through a beautiful decorative restaurant to our table, and the menus appeared on the table. My wife asked for a Gluten Free choice menu and could not believe the choice. Every care had been made to accommodate her needs as a person who has Celiac disease.
Myself, I have been very impressed by the presentation and flavour and the value for money of the experience we enjoyed.
Thank you to everyone and we hope to return soon.
Love love love this place! It is our must do, after watching a movie. The food is always outstanding, and service is always friendly and extremely helpful. I can't have gluten, so they give me my burger with all the extra in a takeaway box!! Soooo much food it is difficult to finish, but that's not a problem because I can just take it home with me!

Lovely meal at Wagamama at West quay. Glad to see they had a Gluten Free Menu and staff were accomodating. A waiter could take my drinks menu but I had to wait for the manager to come and take my food order but there wasn't much of a wait. Food was really nice, prawns were particularly good!
Amazing beer selection..even better staff. I was made to feel welcome with my dog. The staff are helpful and very knowledgeable about beer. Amazing for vegans or anyone with gluten issues. Come for a date or just to hang out with friends. I can highly recommend the Hawaiian beer.
3.5. Breakfast visit. You know what you will get with a Wetherspoons. The value for money was excellent and service efficient. Needing to avoid Gluten I was pleased with option (Freedom breakfast) available.
Saying that, the food was edible but not served very hot. A few of us meant to have mushrooms with our breakfast but they were nowhere to be found. When challenged we were told they had run out. Bit naughty just to miss them off and hope we didn’t notice. When we raised it we were offered something in their place. You could do a lot worse than here, just serve hot food and it will make a huge difference.

Chef Huw and the team are fantastic. I came in with a couple friends, one who is gluten intolerant, and they were very accommodating to the dietary restriction. The live blues music they had playing that night were amazing, adding a lovely ambiance to the night. I got a halloumi burger, which I would definitely recommend.
