As someone with celiac disease, eating out is a struggle, but the cozy club has a separate gluten free menu and our waiter Louis was amazing caterering to my allergy !
Fab food good portion sizes, lots of gluten free options. Service was a little bit slow but they were busy in the lunchtime rush. All round a good place to grab some food while out exploring.
Superb! I chose to go here because they offered an extensive gluten free menu. I had the corn truffle soup, the beef Bourguignon, a Kir rose cocktail and the cafe crème. Some of the best gluten free food I have ever had. Made me do the happy food dance.
First, there was a gluten free menu. The variety and quality of the food was amazing. We were there on a Wednesday and did their Steak Experience. I got an appetizer, Hot Honey Wings, which were not hot but they were darn good! Then there was dinner: expertly cooked fillet, amazing wedge salad with zesty honey mustard and bacon dressing, chunky crisp potatoes…all accompanied by an onion loaf (think classier fried onions). All of this was incredible. Then….there was the Sticky Toffee Pudding which I will be dreaming about for ages. All of this was gluten free!
I last came here 5 years ago, and i must say, since then, they've got bigger and better.
They have now extended into next-door, creating more space and a library on the top floor.
We managed to have a seat upstairs by the curved window. It was a great place to sit a watch.
The service was fantastic, as was the menu with clearly marked gluten free option's even when my girlfriend and I ordered the gentleman taking our order recommended different unique gravy to go with the outstanding pies.
If you haven't been, then you're missing out.
Wowsers it was fantastic xx as a gluten intolerant they covered everything. GF pittas with first course and they ensured that the phenomenal Mixed grill was all GF. Was the best ever xx staff were professional and warm, attentive. A lovely buzz welcomed everyone.
We had a wonderful first experience at bandook this evening. The food is such high quality, amazing flavours and so hot and fresh. The menu has a wide variety of the dishes to choose from and everything was delicious. I have coeliac, and gluten free (and vegetarian and dairy free) items are clearly marked on the menu (large selection to choose from). The squid and duck dosa were my personal favourites, and both things you’d usually not expect to be gluten free! Staff were very friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend and we will be returning! Thank you for such a lovely meal!
We had an amazing experience at wagamamas. We ordered to take away and we were a group with dietary restrictions, gluten free and nut allergy. Freya was amazing, super kind and really knowledgeable with all the allergy information! We will definitely be back!!
After getting into bath just before 9 we really were finding it hard to get somewhere to eat that not only had gluten free options but that would allow children in so late, the coppa club was about the 5 places we walked in and was meet by such friendly staff and a yes to everything we were looking for. The food was amazing and all staff from beginning to end could not do enough for us would highly recommed. Millie our server was brilliant and made what was beginning to look like a bleak evening into an amazing night.
First time having gone to Las Iguanas for bottomless brunch and it was great. The service was brilliant by Finn who also helped our friend with her gluten free options. Drinks were ordered and delivered so quickly!
This was the best meal I've had in a long time. Me and my boyfriend came for a birthday meal, and usually dining as a student couple in a fancier restaurant can make us feel a little out of place, but definitely not here. The staff were all incredibly kind while still being professional, and we immediately felt comfortable. The food was incredible. I'm celiac and can't eat gluten and our waiter was very accommodating; most allergies can be catered for as the food is made fresh. The pasta was incredibly flavoursome and the meat was tender. My boyfriend particularly enjoyed his tiramisu and the panna cotta was exceptional. We will most definitely be coming back.
Wonderful staff, and lovely food.
I'm all-dairy and beef free due to intolerances. It hasn't always been this way so I'm very familiar of the ease of eating out and choosing whatever I want on a menu, and the taste of everything dairy! The past 8 years (beef) and 4 years (dairy) have been difficult. Food is powerful, healing and all things great. Most restaurants have one or two (if you're lucky) vegan options for mains and only a fruit sorbet for dessert. It's sad and heartbreaking to have such limited options, I'm fed up of restaurants having the same vegan meal options, there's no vision or variety. BUT! Having a restaurant/cafe like Rooted is sublime. An ENTIRE MENU of choice with great tasting mains and delicious desserts is happiness - it's freedom. Vegetarian/vegan restaurants mean so much to me as there's no worry or apprehension of what's on the menu or possible dairy mistakes.
We had the roast dinner - and although my mum's roast will always be the best - the feeling this Rooted Roast gave me was so great! I felt free and at ease knowing I could have it all without compromise or worry! It's been a very long time since I've eaten out and been able to share a cauli-cheese!!!
I had the apple+pear crumble (yummy) and my partner had the walnut brownie (also yummy).
The staff were super lovely and calm - another great sign this is the place to be as the restaurant was full and the staff were so chill and on-it.
Overheard people ordering gluten free options too. All the dishes coming out of the kitchen looked very good.
We will definitely be back.
Visited on a Saturday afternoon and I had pre-booked as it does get extremely busy especially on a rugby weekend.
Host was friendly and showed us to the table straight away. Our order was taken quickly and there wasn't a long wait for food.
I'm coeliac so I needed a specific menu. This was gone through with me by the host. My food came out with a different colour pizza cutter.
The noise was the only thing that I could complain about. We struggled to have a proper conversation due to it being so noisy. There was a kids party going on so that will always bring the noise level up. It was understandable being a busy Saturday afternoon. Wouldn't put me off visiting again and it didn't affect the service.
Didn't use the toilet facilities so can't comment on those.
We turned up for a quick breakfast as some reviews said it was coeliac safe - the server let me know that although it was gluten free, it wasn't safe for me to eat there. They explained through the procedures well and I was very well informed, but just a warning that they can't cater for cross contamination.
We ended up just having a tea (can't really go wrong) but my milk was served with crumbs in it! Luckily I noticed and they replaced it. My partner had a hot chocolate which wasn't very good at all.
The food looked good from a distance and it's a nice atmosphere, but just a warning that they have a small kitchen so can only do gluten free for intolerances
The service is amazing. I have coeliacs and they deal with allergies so well. Very clear with what I could and couldn't have and nothing was enough trouble.
Absolutely stunning food and beautifully presented! Such a wonderful atmosphere and brilliant staff that always give a warm welcome. I bought my young child along with me and it was super accessible for a pram and had baby changing facilities. The food was delicious and had lots of range for vegetarians and gluten free as well!
We booked a family meal at Edesia last minute, having travelled from Birmingham for a short break and had a wonderful time. From the minute we stepped in we were taken care of, shown straight to our table and the service throughout our dinner was excellent. Natalia helped us decide on our drinks, there was a wide variety of wines and cocktails to choose from. My husband has a gluten allergy and son a nut allergy, which were accommodated well by Arbias who was really attentive and liaised with the chefs to make sure the food was allergy friendly. My husband had a gluten free beef steak burger with a gluten free bun and fries which he really enjoyed. My pan fried seabass with capers was a sublime special. The kids fish and chips also got a thumbs up as did the churros for dessert! The atmosphere was just right but the food, service and friendly attentive staff make this place a must do if your eating out in Bath. We would definitely return!
I love 5 guys burgers they are juicy and delicious.
If you have a gluten or wheat intorlance you have an option of having a naked burger or having it wrapped in lettuce. There is a good selection of fillings.
The only negative about the place is that is not kept cleaned regularly. The tables inside and out were not wiped down often. It felt a bit messy.
I'd still go back because the food is tasty.
Had an evening meal here and the food was tasty, filling and unique in a positive way.
The menu is limited but that is because it is part of the historic experience.
Happy to offer additional veg and potatoes or gluten free bread as the Sally Bunn is not GF.
We came here for my birthday lunch today (prebooked) and though it was busy, we were seated in a quiet booth in the bar area, which was brilliant. Run by a small team, this place runs super smoothly, with just the right amount of attention without being pressing. The food was excellent (with options for lactos free/gluten intolerant people like me), the vibe relaxed with great sound proofing to deaden what could be an otherwise overwhelming and loud space, lovely and friendly staff and well balanced drinks (alcoholic and non). Overall it was unexpectedly brilliant lunch. Just go, you won’t regret it :)
Great choice of gluten free food, staff were allergy aware and friendly. I had the pea and spinach burger GF, excellent. Nice to be able to eat GF and vegan.
Food was overpriced and bland the unseasoned side plate of veg to share between all six of us was a joke and the gluten free option was steak with three potato’s. Honestly your stomach and wallet will be happier going to weatherspoons.
drove past this little corner restaurant last week and thought “That looks interesting, let’s look it up - oh, they have folded pizza (calzone to us), ingredients look good, haven’t had pizza in ages, what’s a ristobar(?), let’s give it a try”
A week later, table’s booked, hubby is having the folded pizza (Vesuvio on the menu) and I’m probably having a marinara with added artichokes.
Ah, but I hadn’t reckoned on the specials…
Where else in Bath (maybe the Southwest) are you going to have courgette flowers stuffed with ham and melty mozzarella cheese in a perfectly crispy light batter, served on a parmesan rich homemade tomato sauce? If that doesn’t rock your boat, there were four other appetisers on the specials list which were hard to resist. Given the strength of the cooking, I’ll happily go for the arancini next time (there will most definitely be a next time) - I’m usually wary of arancini as they have to be executed perfectly (or they are like the contents of a Christmas cracker - holding so much promise but really only affirming the British trait of craving disappointment.)
Then, the pastas, which I had dismissed as looking a little uninteresting on the menu (and pizza is their specialty after all) again flummoxed me when the specialities list came out. Ravioli stuffed with seabass and crabmeat with homemade tomato sauce; or filled with ham and cime di rape (turnip greens - OMG, where do you even buy those here) in a cream sauce or filled with four cheeses in a Gorgonzola sauce (so five(!) cheeses really). Hubby was close to ditching his calzone (which is one of his favourite things) for the cheesy pasta (he’s a sucker for gorgonzola).
The food was fantastic. The ravioli with ham and greens (for that’s what I went for) was so well made, really thin pasta and beautiful fresh flavours. The calzone crust was thin and crisp, filling astonishingly moreish - they use really good anchovies which hubby had as an added extra.
We had affogato for puds - not a standard one here either - lots of cream and amaretto.
We were so impressed - really great cooking by a real Italian chef who knows what he’s doing. Service was charming, friendly and attentive. Bill came with Baci chocolates and no service charge added. They do GF pizza bases, so even our gluten intolerant friends can visit.
Go, go, go - Napulé appears to have been around for a year and deserves to be a lot busier. It was a Wednesday night and it was a crying shame that there was only one other table occupied while we were there. Prices are reasonable for the quality - pizzas in particular - they use fior di latte, for goodness sake.
Era perfetto! Grazie mille!
We had an amazing meal here! They managed to accommodate a party of 9 last minute. We had vegetarians and a gluten allergy and everyone really enjoyed their meals. Service was pretty quick and the servers were very friendly and clearly putting effort into their work. Would very happily visit again
Fantastic atmosphere and service, Ashlee, Eva and Lawrie were standout hosts and helped so much with a fussy wine drinker in our group and a gluten allergy. So attentive, caring and they all seemed like great fun- we will be back soon!!
super delicious food and friendly staff. we had the papaya salad, pad thai and cashew stir fry. very mindful of food allergies (gluten-free) too. highly recommend!
Apart from a couple misunderstandings with some gluten free options, we had a lovely night out- our server Imogen was very understanding and helpful surrounding quite a few allergies and dietary preferences. Leah, who served our very enjoyable drinks, was continuously bubbly and helped create a relaxed atmosphere in what I can only assume was a very stressful environment on a busy Christmas Eve Eve. Thanks!

We did bottomless brunch and served by Thomas! He was an absolute treat as a host. The Buratta Toast was lovely, and filling. Had enough options for the gluten free of the group so well catered for. Will definitely visit again.
As it was our first visit to The Boathouse, we were a little apprehensive as we had a special guest with us & needed a quiet space in which to chat. (There were 3 of us). We were shown to the Conservatory. It couldn't have been nicer - tastefully decorated with beautiful houseplants (real ones!), warm & with a river view. We were given outstanding service by Jo, our waiter, who was particularly attentive to my need for gluten-free food. We all enjoyed the food which was presented tastefully, & all excellent. We also considered we had good value for money. Altogether it was a delightful & memorable experience & we look forward to our next visit. Many thanks to everyone who worked so hard to make us feel special.
The food is extremely overpriced and the Pulpo (octopus) made us feel sick. The portion sizes are terrible— we ordered the king prawns dish and got 5 prawns for nearly £12. Ridiculous. The only thing to recommend is the service and atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and service was quick. They were also considerate about having gluten-free options.
I often visit here on my way through Bath bus station when I'm visiting my mum. The food range is excellent, and the service is fantastic. I have been in once and had bad service, which we brought to the attention of another staff member who took it straight to the duty manager. She was incredibly understanding and insisted that she serve us for the rest of the meal, so it was very well handled.
The menu has great options for vegetarians, gluten intolerance and lactose intolerance. But also a fantastically rich selection of grills, tagines and breads. The decor is good and light and you can buy a number of the items they use to make the food to cook for yourself. Overall, a great experience!
The staff are so friendly and knowledgeable about the different cuts of meat without being snooty about it like some other fancy steak places can be. They were great at advising about gluten free options and even put a little birthday candle in my fiancé's pudding for him. The food was just ridiculously delicious, lovely pinot grigio, great atmosphere- a real gem! If you're celebrating something and want somewhere that feels upmarket yet intimate this is the place. Serious food coma afterwards in the best way, strongly recommend the peppercorn sauce and wearing your loose trousers 🤣🥰

Staff were incredibly helpful and friendly . They’re very accommodating and gluten free options were available which is always helpful. Food was amazing (we will be coming back ) and we didn’t have to wait long even when they were short staffed. They were so hard working and made sure that everyone was satisfied and catered for. Best burgers we’ve had in a long while !!!
