As someone with celiac disease, eating out is a struggle, but the cozy club has a separate gluten free menu and our waiter Louis was amazing caterering to my allergy !
Great pizza - fresh with quality toppings and dough. Good service. Good selection. Good atmosphere. The gluten free base should come with a warning, it's inferior to the normal base and we did not feel it was worth it.
Fab food good portion sizes, lots of gluten free options. Service was a little bit slow but they were busy in the lunchtime rush. All round a good place to grab some food while out exploring.
Superb! I chose to go here because they offered an extensive gluten free menu. I had the corn truffle soup, the beef Bourguignon, a Kir rose cocktail and the cafe crème. Some of the best gluten free food I have ever had. Made me do the happy food dance.
Highly Recommend coming here if you’re gluten free, staff are aware of coeliac disease and have a separate toaster and area to prepare your sandwich! It was delicious and the sandwich was well filled😋
I visited this restaurant in Sep 2024 for lunch and yesterday for coffee as we were celebration one Greek friend completed the half marathon. The food in Sep was good, grilled chicken with no pita bread as I am gluten intolerant, neither feta cheese as I have a dairy free diet. They don't have an alternative milk, so if you don't drink cow milk, better to go to another place for coffee.
Wowsers it was fantastic xx as a gluten intolerant they covered everything. GF pittas with first course and they ensured that the phenomenal Mixed grill was all GF. Was the best ever xx staff were professional and warm, attentive. A lovely buzz welcomed everyone.
We've had afternoon tea at The Pump House a couple of times. Once we walked in and got a table, another time we booked in advance and it was a good thing because we would not have been able to walk in. I had the gluten free tea, which was wonderful. The children had a children's tea, and loved it. Beautiful architecture, great atmosphere, great classical music, and you can see the Roman baths from the windows inside.
The view was perfect, the food was tasty, and the prices reasonable. I would go back again. I was particularly grateful for the clearly marked gluten free menu!
First time having gone to Las Iguanas for bottomless brunch and it was great. The service was brilliant by Finn who also helped our friend with her gluten free options. Drinks were ordered and delivered so quickly!
We turned up for a quick breakfast as some reviews said it was coeliac safe - the server let me know that although it was gluten free, it wasn't safe for me to eat there. They explained through the procedures well and I was very well informed, but just a warning that they can't cater for cross contamination.
We ended up just having a tea (can't really go wrong) but my milk was served with crumbs in it! Luckily I noticed and they replaced it. My partner had a hot chocolate which wasn't very good at all.
The food looked good from a distance and it's a nice atmosphere, but just a warning that they have a small kitchen so can only do gluten free for intolerances
Whilst walking around the Roman Baths we spied the chocolate sign from the top and planned to visit when we finished! When we walked in we were greeted like regular customers. The chocolate barista knew so much about each blend, he explained the strength and the flavours. When we couldn’t make a decision he gave us a little pot of the flakes to smell and taste. I had the 100% and it was the best chocolate I’ve had. I’m vegan and gluten free and it was such a treat to have choice, they even had vegan whipped cream!
We booked a family meal at Edesia last minute, having travelled from Birmingham for a short break and had a wonderful time. From the minute we stepped in we were taken care of, shown straight to our table and the service throughout our dinner was excellent. Natalia helped us decide on our drinks, there was a wide variety of wines and cocktails to choose from. My husband has a gluten allergy and son a nut allergy, which were accommodated well by Arbias who was really attentive and liaised with the chefs to make sure the food was allergy friendly. My husband had a gluten free beef steak burger with a gluten free bun and fries which he really enjoyed. My pan fried seabass with capers was a sublime special. The kids fish and chips also got a thumbs up as did the churros for dessert! The atmosphere was just right but the food, service and friendly attentive staff make this place a must do if your eating out in Bath. We would definitely return!
Had an evening meal here and the food was tasty, filling and unique in a positive way.
The menu is limited but that is because it is part of the historic experience.
Happy to offer additional veg and potatoes or gluten free bread as the Sally Bunn is not GF.
I had the Five course feast which was great. We went on a group of four and experiencing the different dishes in a group was the perfect way to try out this restaurant.
The ricota ravioli was really good, the broccoli with smoked almonds was my favourite. Really good range of food.
I appreciate that this is a vegetarian restaurant, which is hard to find nowadays as most lean directly to vegan.
Great accomodation for gluten-free (coeliac) too.
The food is great but the staff are excellent. They are incredibly helpful, caring and have great personalities. 10/10 for the staff.
They run out of beef burgers, so I ordered the ham, cheese and smokey tomato sauce panini but with GF bread as I am intolerant. £10 for a tiny sandwich (2 small slices of bread, who eat GF knows that bread), so overpriced. If you are GF intolerance or celiac, this is not your place and you will have to eat again in another place after 30min.
Really great place! We were a bit nervous because it was empty when we arrived but it was an excellent experience. The food is well worth the price and the menu has great options (including loads of gluten free options). Our server, Alex, was excellent, friendly and gave really great advice about the menu. And the cocktails were amazing! Highly recommend.
We had an amazing meal here! They managed to accommodate a party of 9 last minute. We had vegetarians and a gluten allergy and everyone really enjoyed their meals. Service was pretty quick and the servers were very friendly and clearly putting effort into their work. Would very happily visit again
Had a great experience at Diana's. Delicious gluten free brownies and lemon drizzle cake. I'm coeliac so was encouraging to see the cakes were stored under covers to prevent cross contamination. A good size pot of tea and cosy atmosphere.
drove past this little corner restaurant last week and thought “That looks interesting, let’s look it up - oh, they have folded pizza (calzone to us), ingredients look good, haven’t had pizza in ages, what’s a ristobar(?), let’s give it a try”
A week later, table’s booked, hubby is having the folded pizza (Vesuvio on the menu) and I’m probably having a marinara with added artichokes.
Ah, but I hadn’t reckoned on the specials…
Where else in Bath (maybe the Southwest) are you going to have courgette flowers stuffed with ham and melty mozzarella cheese in a perfectly crispy light batter, served on a parmesan rich homemade tomato sauce? If that doesn’t rock your boat, there were four other appetisers on the specials list which were hard to resist. Given the strength of the cooking, I’ll happily go for the arancini next time (there will most definitely be a next time) - I’m usually wary of arancini as they have to be executed perfectly (or they are like the contents of a Christmas cracker - holding so much promise but really only affirming the British trait of craving disappointment.)
Then, the pastas, which I had dismissed as looking a little uninteresting on the menu (and pizza is their specialty after all) again flummoxed me when the specialities list came out. Ravioli stuffed with seabass and crabmeat with homemade tomato sauce; or filled with ham and cime di rape (turnip greens - OMG, where do you even buy those here) in a cream sauce or filled with four cheeses in a Gorgonzola sauce (so five(!) cheeses really). Hubby was close to ditching his calzone (which is one of his favourite things) for the cheesy pasta (he’s a sucker for gorgonzola).
The food was fantastic. The ravioli with ham and greens (for that’s what I went for) was so well made, really thin pasta and beautiful fresh flavours. The calzone crust was thin and crisp, filling astonishingly moreish - they use really good anchovies which hubby had as an added extra.
We had affogato for puds - not a standard one here either - lots of cream and amaretto.
We were so impressed - really great cooking by a real Italian chef who knows what he’s doing. Service was charming, friendly and attentive. Bill came with Baci chocolates and no service charge added. They do GF pizza bases, so even our gluten intolerant friends can visit.
Go, go, go - Napulé appears to have been around for a year and deserves to be a lot busier. It was a Wednesday night and it was a crying shame that there was only one other table occupied while we were there. Prices are reasonable for the quality - pizzas in particular - they use fior di latte, for goodness sake.
Era perfetto! Grazie mille!
We had a wonderful first experience at bandook this evening. The food is such high quality, amazing flavours and so hot and fresh. The menu has a wide variety of the dishes to choose from and everything was delicious. I have coeliac, and gluten free (and vegetarian and dairy free) items are clearly marked on the menu (large selection to choose from). The squid and duck dosa were my personal favourites, and both things you’d usually not expect to be gluten free! Staff were very friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend and we will be returning! Thank you for such a lovely meal!
As it was our first visit to The Boathouse, we were a little apprehensive as we had a special guest with us & needed a quiet space in which to chat. (There were 3 of us). We were shown to the Conservatory. It couldn't have been nicer - tastefully decorated with beautiful houseplants (real ones!), warm & with a river view. We were given outstanding service by Jo, our waiter, who was particularly attentive to my need for gluten-free food. We all enjoyed the food which was presented tastefully, & all excellent. We also considered we had good value for money. Altogether it was a delightful & memorable experience & we look forward to our next visit. Many thanks to everyone who worked so hard to make us feel special.
The food is extremely overpriced and the Pulpo (octopus) made us feel sick. The portion sizes are terrible— we ordered the king prawns dish and got 5 prawns for nearly £12. Ridiculous. The only thing to recommend is the service and atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and service was quick. They were also considerate about having gluten-free options.
Refused to make a gluten free sandwich as she said it was an intolerance. I'm coeliac. She said it would mean cleaning the kitchen again so didn't want to do it.
Great choice of gluten free food, staff were allergy aware and friendly. I had the pea and spinach burger GF, excellent. Nice to be able to eat GF and vegan.
Awesome place- the staff were lovely and the desserts were incredible. My original choice was out of stock so I was given a free cookie sandwich - I would not have expected this at all but it was a lovely touch. I had a slice of cookie dough and my friend had a brownie, we both had breakfast tea. Couldn't be happier with the quality and selection of desserts - no charges for plant based milk either which is great, even if it should be the standard!
I am a vegan and the options were very plentiful, I saw that there were also gluten-free options though I can't confirm whether or not they were coeliac friendly. I also cannot comment on the hot food but I'd be keen to go back and try it!
Overall, a great location in Bath at a standard price.
Not suitable for those with dietary requirements/allergies.
I am a celiac and was told before we sat down that they could accommodate some gluten free adjustments, after the waitress had a conversation with the chef I was told they would just have to change the way they prepare a couple of things.
Whilst ordering I enquired if the sausages were gluten free and was told no which is fine. when my breakfast arrived I would say it was about half the size of my partners meal which had no changes. I had not been told they would have to take anything else off.
The management was rude, with no apology and I was simply told they don’t cater to allergies.
I was thoroughly disappointed as if I had been told this at the beginning I would have been able to go elsewhere, instead of wasting everyone’s time.
We were in the end given a refund for my meal however it was just upsetting as I didn’t feel like my requirements were understood.
We got a recommendation from the Cheesemongers shop and were so glad we followed their suggestion. The place was packed which is usually a good sign. We had drinks at the bar while we waited for a table to open up. Once we were seated our waiter was helpful with suggestions and gluten free options. Every single thing we ordered was amazing!! We had several of the specials as well as the standard menu items. Absolutely love Pintxo de Bath!
