The shop is quite small and has both eat-in and takeaway options. We found the service was quite slow but likely due to the fact that the food is prepared across the way at their other premises. I was happy with my sandwich option but my husband found his panini bland, so mixed reviews. Although I am not gluten-free, I was impressed with the number of cake options for those who are. For those with limited mobility please be aware that the toilets are upstairs and the staircase is quite narrow and steep.
I ordered 12 gluten free birthday cupcakes. They were absolutely beautiful and delicious. The sponge wasn’t too sweet because of the frosting on top. Perfect balance. Thank you.
We walked along the street from Bath’s famous Roman Bath on this chilly late morning, stopping over at Bill’s for an unplanned lunch. What a delightful and pleasant experience. We chose the very well priced two course menu and, believe it or not: A gluten free beef Burger from its own and separate printed GF menu! What a surprise for someone who is always challenged to find choices for a GF diet.
Both meals were tasty and sufficient in portion size. As beverage we had a Pot of English breakfast tea (the tea came in a real pot and a Latte with coconut milk. (Almond milk was not available)but the coffee I had was delicious. The place was buzzing with diners coming in a frequent flow , greeted by a friendly and efficient service team. Overall I would come back and recommend a positive and vibrant place like Bills anytime if you’re stopping over in Bath.
Highly Recommend coming here if you’re gluten free, staff are aware of coeliac disease and have a separate toaster and area to prepare your sandwich! It was delicious and the sandwich was well filled😋
Wonderful staff, and lovely food.
I'm all-dairy and beef free due to intolerances. It hasn't always been this way so I'm very familiar of the ease of eating out and choosing whatever I want on a menu, and the taste of everything dairy! The past 8 years (beef) and 4 years (dairy) have been difficult. Food is powerful, healing and all things great. Most restaurants have one or two (if you're lucky) vegan options for mains and only a fruit sorbet for dessert. It's sad and heartbreaking to have such limited options, I'm fed up of restaurants having the same vegan meal options, there's no vision or variety. BUT! Having a restaurant/cafe like Rooted is sublime. An ENTIRE MENU of choice with great tasting mains and delicious desserts is happiness - it's freedom. Vegetarian/vegan restaurants mean so much to me as there's no worry or apprehension of what's on the menu or possible dairy mistakes.
We had the roast dinner - and although my mum's roast will always be the best - the feeling this Rooted Roast gave me was so great! I felt free and at ease knowing I could have it all without compromise or worry! It's been a very long time since I've eaten out and been able to share a cauli-cheese!!!
I had the apple+pear crumble (yummy) and my partner had the walnut brownie (also yummy).
The staff were super lovely and calm - another great sign this is the place to be as the restaurant was full and the staff were so chill and on-it.
Overheard people ordering gluten free options too. All the dishes coming out of the kitchen looked very good.
We will definitely be back.
We turned up for a quick breakfast as some reviews said it was coeliac safe - the server let me know that although it was gluten free, it wasn't safe for me to eat there. They explained through the procedures well and I was very well informed, but just a warning that they can't cater for cross contamination.
We ended up just having a tea (can't really go wrong) but my milk was served with crumbs in it! Luckily I noticed and they replaced it. My partner had a hot chocolate which wasn't very good at all.
The food looked good from a distance and it's a nice atmosphere, but just a warning that they have a small kitchen so can only do gluten free for intolerances
Had an evening meal here and the food was tasty, filling and unique in a positive way.
The menu is limited but that is because it is part of the historic experience.
Happy to offer additional veg and potatoes or gluten free bread as the Sally Bunn is not GF.
This was our second visit to Mrs Potts and it appears they have either changed their production methods or ingredients as last time we visited several products where marked as Gluten Free which was amazing as I suffer from Coeliac Disease but on this visit nothing was marked as GF however when we spoke to the staff they did point out that several products where indeed GF however they were all marked as May Contain Gluten; which I understand due to environment but I think clearer labelling, GF displays or staff understanding would be beneficial as the food from Mrs Potts is amazing!!
They run out of beef burgers, so I ordered the ham, cheese and smokey tomato sauce panini but with GF bread as I am intolerant. £10 for a tiny sandwich (2 small slices of bread, who eat GF knows that bread), so overpriced. If you are GF intolerance or celiac, this is not your place and you will have to eat again in another place after 30min.
The person behind the counter was so friendly and helpful. They really made my group feel at home and comfortable, checking on the specifics of our food requests and making recommendations on the drinks. The food came promptly and was lovely, especially the mushrooms which had a unique lemony flavour, which sounds unusual but was really, really nice. The gluten free toast was also good which is often not the case. I was there with friends who are not from the area and it was lovely to go somewhere independent and to be met with such warm service. Highly recommend.

As an Italian that has moved to England 8 years ago it feels amazing to have the chance to go into a deli Italian shop like Avellinos, it really make me feel like at home 😁 great Italian food selection, cured meats and cheese. You have to try the homemade bread sandwich they are lush 🤩 vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options available as well.
We had an amazing meal here! They managed to accommodate a party of 9 last minute. We had vegetarians and a gluten allergy and everyone really enjoyed their meals. Service was pretty quick and the servers were very friendly and clearly putting effort into their work. Would very happily visit again
Had a great experience at Diana's. Delicious gluten free brownies and lemon drizzle cake. I'm coeliac so was encouraging to see the cakes were stored under covers to prevent cross contamination. A good size pot of tea and cosy atmosphere.
As it was our first visit to The Boathouse, we were a little apprehensive as we had a special guest with us & needed a quiet space in which to chat. (There were 3 of us). We were shown to the Conservatory. It couldn't have been nicer - tastefully decorated with beautiful houseplants (real ones!), warm & with a river view. We were given outstanding service by Jo, our waiter, who was particularly attentive to my need for gluten-free food. We all enjoyed the food which was presented tastefully, & all excellent. We also considered we had good value for money. Altogether it was a delightful & memorable experience & we look forward to our next visit. Many thanks to everyone who worked so hard to make us feel special.
Refused to make a gluten free sandwich as she said it was an intolerance. I'm coeliac. She said it would mean cleaning the kitchen again so didn't want to do it.
Awesome place- the staff were lovely and the desserts were incredible. My original choice was out of stock so I was given a free cookie sandwich - I would not have expected this at all but it was a lovely touch. I had a slice of cookie dough and my friend had a brownie, we both had breakfast tea. Couldn't be happier with the quality and selection of desserts - no charges for plant based milk either which is great, even if it should be the standard!
I am a vegan and the options were very plentiful, I saw that there were also gluten-free options though I can't confirm whether or not they were coeliac friendly. I also cannot comment on the hot food but I'd be keen to go back and try it!
Overall, a great location in Bath at a standard price.
Not suitable for those with dietary requirements/allergies.
I am a celiac and was told before we sat down that they could accommodate some gluten free adjustments, after the waitress had a conversation with the chef I was told they would just have to change the way they prepare a couple of things.
Whilst ordering I enquired if the sausages were gluten free and was told no which is fine. when my breakfast arrived I would say it was about half the size of my partners meal which had no changes. I had not been told they would have to take anything else off.
The management was rude, with no apology and I was simply told they don’t cater to allergies.
I was thoroughly disappointed as if I had been told this at the beginning I would have been able to go elsewhere, instead of wasting everyone’s time.
We were in the end given a refund for my meal however it was just upsetting as I didn’t feel like my requirements were understood.
