Risotteria Melotti is such a cute spot in NYC. All of the risottos are gluten-free, which was great for dining with my Celiac girlfriend.
Inside, it’s a small but intimate space. It feels almost like you’re dining in someone’s home because the kitchen is so close by.
For my meal, I had the calcio and pepe risotto. It was delicious and extremely filling. After that, I absolutely had to have the tiramisu for dessert. I love tiramisu and this was no different. With the large portions, I could’ve shared my dessert, but my girlfriend wanted the Nutella crepe, which was also delicious.
Overall, I highly recommend coming here.

Wait time ensured that we 100% will not be back. We were one of three tables on a Friday night and our food took well over an hour, not to mention that we waited the final 10 minutes for the last person to get their meal which was nothing more than a salad. Full GF menu, our Coeliac daughter had waffles and they were delicious, no ‘tummy’ after effects! The only slight issue we had was that the server brought all 4 plates together stacked up along his arm meaning a plate with my toast was sitting on top of my daughters GF plate, increasing the chances of cross contamination. I love having a safe, delicious and friendly place to eat! We’ve been customers for several years and my family has celiac. We eat here very often and have never gotten sick! Service was a little slow temporarily due to some staffing transitions but they are back and better than ever. Family dinners, date nights, drinks - it’s a great place! I had high hopes after seeing the reviews and the gluten-free options.
The owner and staff were surprisingly hostile to our party as first timers, commenting directly to us (and others) throughout the meal about how absurd it was that we did not have cash on hand for payment. Very bizarre, and something I’ve never experienced before.
The gluten-free pizza tasted worse than a Domino’s pizza, and was twice the cost ($25). I can’t recommend much about this venue.

Simply—and irresistibly—delicious. I had the Full Therapy: a half bowl of three different dishes (Pasta Bolognese, Chili Sin Carne, and Mediterranean Pasta), and each one was incredible. Light, flavorful, and thoughtfully composed—every ingredient had its moment to shine.
I also tried their refreshing lemonade and black tea, along with two desserts: the omega-3 chocolate raw brownie and the raspberry raw cake. Both were sweet, filling, and richly flavored—hard to pick a favorite.
The ambiance is lovely. While the service wasn’t flawless, the staff clearly does their best to ride the wave of occasionally difficult Upper East Side customers with grace. If someone behind the counter seems a little short, it might just be residue from the last entitled interaction—so I give them full forgiveness.
I ended up spending over three hours here enjoying the atmosphere and the menu. It’s a must-visit for anyone seeking clean, organic, gluten-free vegan food in New York.

We were really pleasantly surprised at just how nice our experience at The Cellar was. As someone with a gluten sensitivity I was thrilled to see that their chicken and waffles is gluten free. The prices are commensurate with the quality here, and I was glad to see that our entrees were full plates, not a piece of protein garnished with a few specks of vegetable and starch. This was a great way to start our weekend in Corning
