I won't pretend the restaurant is like a five-star hotel. In comparison to your top high-end luxury restaurants, it would be four stars. But you can't compare apples to oranges.
The one most crucial thing to note is the belief, the idea, and the story behind the restaurant. They are specially tailored to people who have strict allergy requirements. My personal needs are to avoid gluten, nuts, egg, and more. Try that anywhere else…. Most places will just "nicely" shoo you away—and while I understand any restaurant ultimately is a business to cater to the masses, those of us who have strict, deathly dietary requirements can finally experience a place to dine without fear. To enjoy a time with family and friends eating the same things. To experience the fun and joy of picking at another person's plate.
For those reasons, and to me, it's better than any Michelin-star restaurant. If you have allergies to gluten, if you have celiac disease, you can finally share the experience too. You may come out an emotional train wreck like me.
I have been to Tap Works on some VERY different occasions, and it was always just what my spirit needed. When I finished work late, the smash burger was the best thing I had ever tasted. When I had a bad day, the atmosphere was a perfect blend of chill and nice. On date night, it was comforting and still felt special. I’ve only been a few times, but I’m getting to know some of the staff, who have been amazing during every single visit. And one of the best parts is that, while I’m significantly reducing my alcohol consumption, Tap Works has a variety of percentages as well as Gluten-Free and non-alcoholic beers.
Do yourself a favour and visit this bar soon, and often, so it lasts a good long time. Our neighbourhood needs places like this, with real soul, and elevation without pomp.
I had the gluten free pasta with tomato sauce and I’m still dreaming of it! It was so delicious and the I loved the decor of the place! The place was a vice and the service was on point
Gluten-Free Options: Yes, but not indicated on menu.
Cross Contamination: Yes, can be a risk
Halal/ Kosher Options: No
Vegan Option: Unsure
Vegetarian Options: Yes
Nut Free Options: Yea
Dairy Free: Unsure
First Impression: A pick up and go window. The window is decorated nicely and gives a hip vibe.
Favourite: The banana soft serve and spicy mango soft serve. They were unique and not overly sweet!
Critiques:The place only accepts cash! There is a convenient store near by that has an ATM. Also, there’s always a long line up so expect to wait! We were not fans of the strawberry or guava flavours. They did not give the same satisfaction as the others we enjoyed.
Bonus: The neighborhood around the area is beautiful and it’s a nice to take a walk around and eat your treats.
Take Away: This place has so unique flavours that are worth trying.

Came here as part of a group this week to celebrate a birthday and had a fantastic experience! Our group included vegetarians and people who are gluten free but everyone was able to find something on the menu they were excited to try. I’m not normally a fan of artichoke but one of our group ordered the fried artichoke app to share and it was worth ordering again. The portions were reasonable, the food was great and our server was lovely. I will definitely be back
