Note: Only writing this to let the owner know in case they aren't aware of the celiac review apps and the recent change. It's otherwise an excellent place with amazing staff and food, hope that it can get resolved for the celiac community.
Something has gone wrong with their sourcing of gluten free ingredients.
I have celiac and suddenly after incorporating this restaurant into my diet my blood work numbers have exploded upwards. I track my numbers very closely multiple times a year and I've done a lot of elimination and it points pretty heavily towards this place as being the culprit. This also reflects in the reviews for find me gluten free website where people are getting violent reactions in the last year. Hopefully they eventually figure out where the gluten is coming from so that other celiac individuals and I can go back here again as their food is otherwise very tasty. I would recommend them to redo the testing that they once did in 2019 to figure out where the source of the problem is. Thank you
Awesome place to eat first time here in San Francisco, and being a gluten free celiac, they did the best gluten free double burger with lettuce buns I have ever had. Their fryer is also GF and the potatoes are cut on site.
House bread with garlic butter, hot shrooms (star of the show), and Caesar salad were excellent. I think I would return just for those three things. Joey was an excellent server. I knocked off a couple stars because although our appetizers came out quickly, we waited an extremely long time for our entrées and the pesto fusilli came out room temperature, nearly cold. They accidentally served us a gluten-free widow pizza, and shortly after brought us one with the regular crust. The smoked date purée on the widow sounded intriguing, and although it was tasty, there was way too much slathered onto the pizza. I would not go so heavy handed with that covering the pizza. So overall, the entrees were meh, but the appetizers excellent!
From appetizers to combos, you will not be disappointed. Dine in or take out. Hearty meals with delicious side dishes and dinners served with corn bread. There is also a gluten free corn muffin for those who are conscientious of this type of intake. Great Senior meal choices, kids menu and great choices for the serious BBQ lover. Staff is very attentive and friendly.
My wife has celiacs so Amy's is perfect. I like their potato fries and the sweet potato fries. Teir salads are fantastic- very flavorful. No meat, vegetarian, but the "hamburgers" are scrumptious. This is the perfect place for my wife and I can enjoy it too.

BEWARE. The Gluten Free (GF) Labels on the menu mean GF options available for that dish, NOT that the dish is gluten free. Talk to your server about your order.
I was excited when seeing the GF labels all over the menu, especially when seeing that most of those dishes involved pita bread. Sadly after talking to the bartender I learned that their pita is (obviously) not GF. Their rice pilaf also has soy sauce in it, so do not just assume the dish is GF even though they are labeled GF. Service was great and the food was good. Pricey, but normal for the gaslamp area and it was very tasty.
This place is fantastic.
I have celiac and a wheat/oat allergy and the staff was knowledgeable about all allergens for menu items. I had no bad reactions to the food afterward.
The food is delicious too - I'm an omnivore who eats vegan/vegetarian a decent amount. It stands amongst some of my favorite restaurants ever (non vegan included). Did not think it being vegan detracted from flavor whatsoever.
Highly recommend, especially if you have gluten sensitivity.
This is a really solid happy hour spot in the neighborhood! If you’re looking to stay gluten-free or are hanging with somebody who is GF, I’d recommend Bivouac.
The space is really cool; feels like a camping lodge! Lots of warm wood, climbing ropes, etc.
The meatballs and polenta bites were flavorful, delicious, reasonably priced and portioned, & had strong sauce/dip-pairings.
Service was okay. Not super attentive, and the flight took over 10 minutes to come out, which was weird, since the place wasn’t that busy. They ignored us a bit once some influencers showed up, meh.
Watch out for the pricing on the cider flights! (Meaning, there IS no listed price… think it was like $18 each? For 3 tasters.)
The hummus/crudites appetizer is underwhelming, as the veggies could be cut less coarsely, and the hummus was disarmingly minty (and not enough for all the dipping objects).
Linn’s is in beautiful and quaint Cambria, not far from the Hearst Castle. We enjoyed fast and plentiful lunch here. My husband had the fish and chips. It came with a red cabbage and apple slaw that he raved about. I had a Rueben on a gluten free bun with fries—the meat was tender and generously sized. The fries were wide cut, hot, and nicely seasoned. The initial cup of coffee was not fresh, and the server happily made a fresh pot which was rich and tasty. We learned about olallieberries, which is apparently grown locally and up the northwestern coast. Always so much to learn in this beautiful world, and we thank Linn’s for sharing their slice of paradise!
Most items can be made gluten free.
Fries are cooked in a dedicated fryer.
Do not eat bbq sauce, malted mayo that comes with fries, or biscuit as those are not gluten free. All mayo on sandwiches is regular mayo.
My wife and I have been wanting to try the Wild Carvery for a while. Upon arrival the place looks nice, it looks neat and without clutter, very modern.
My wife and I walked up to the register and the gentleman behind it showed us the menu on the counter as well. We talked for a few minutes while we ordered. There was a pride in the food that they served there that was evident as we chatted.
My wife ordered the Mediterranean Chicken salad and I ordered the Steak.
The plates were beautiful when they arrived at the table. The chicken on my wife's salad was perfectly cooked and seasoned. For the most part I don’t order chicken when I go out but this I would order.
My steak was also perfectly cooked and seasoned. The ingredients were all fresh and each fork full was delicious. Some friends of ours joined us and I sampled their fresh chips, perfectly fried and crisp. From what I saw from across the table their gluten free wrap was huge!!!
Even though it was counter service they made it a point to check on us. I highly recommend trying this place and we will be back happily.
Ok, so this was hands down the BEST gluten free bun AND burger combo I have ever had. I'm visiting from FL and staying nearby. When I found hopdaddy I was so excited, they offer all of their burgers on gluten free buns. I ordered the Magic Shroom burger on a gluten free bun. It also has goat cheese which I prefer over regular dairy products. So good!!! I also loved the sweet potato fries, salted perfectly.
OMG! DELICIOUS!! We ordered different things so we could taste it all! Cornbread…are you kidding me? Shrimp and grits…so deliciously creamy. Oxtail tacos…flavor burst! Fried green tomatoes…so good! Mac and cheese…so cheesy! Here’s the kicker…it’s GLUTEN FREE!! Are you kidding me?! We will be back very soon!! The staff and owner are so kind and gracious! So sweet and attentive! Oh wait….gotta go…my gluten free peach cobbler is coming!! Trust me….eat here!!!
Went here to celebrate a family birthday, with everyone eating gluten-free. Disappointed there was no gluten-free beer available. The mozzarella cheese fries appetizer took half an hour, and was strange—odd presentation with way too much cheese (it looked like cheese pie—which okay, who doesn’t love more cheese? but visually, it was unappetizing, not browned or bubbly, just a slab of melted cheese) and underneath, the fries were barely cooked. When we mentioned it to the server, she didn’t apologize or make it right—she told us the fries are baked that way in the oven since they don’t have a dedicated gluten-free fryer, and they end up undercooked. Okay….Our pizza was good, but not enough sauce, and the sausage was crumbled instead of bite-sized pieces. The gluten-free vegan lasagna was delicious! But the slow service (it wasn’t crowded, but every step of service was slow) and “sucks to be gluten-free” attitude of the server and cook were disappointing. And the ‘80s pop music all night was not our thing.
Burger Village in San Luis Obispo is a standout for anyone who loves variety—whether you’re into classic meats, exotic proteins, or plant-based patties. Here’s my take:
⸻
🍔 Proteins for Every Palate
• Organic Classic Beef: A reliably juicy, grass-fed patty. Goes great with cheddar, roasted peppers, and their signature sauce.
• Exotic Meats: Think elk, bison, lamb, turkey—and yes—boar, salmon, and even ostrich. A reviewer said their ostrich tasted “like a gamier turkey burger” and enjoyed the creative toppings pairing . Several folks name the elk burger “amazing.”
• Chicken, Salmon & More: You can also go with a chicken sandwich or salmon, each customizable with loads of toppings. ()
• Vegan/Plant-Based Options: Includes black bean, cauliflower, gluten-free veggie, and Impossible patties—with vegan buns, cheese, and spicy veganaise. Vegans love the flexibility: “Have multiple options on what type of vegan burger you want and you can put any toppings on it.”
⸻
🎨 Toppings & Build Your Own
The topping game is on point: sautéed onions, mushrooms, pico de gallo, guac, fire-roasted peppers, jalapeños, fried eggs, applewood bacon, vegan mozzarella—the list goes on. There’s also wraps or lettuce/ gluten-free buns, making it easy to build a burger that fits your vibe. ()
⸻
🍻 Beer Bar & Aesthetic
Step inside and you’re met with a bright, open layout: a sleek bar lined with a dozen-plus taps and a fridge of bottled beer. Draft beer lovers will delight—over 30 on tap, including local craft selections. One Yelp fan put it simply: “Huge on‑tap beer selection… can’t wait to go back.”
Wood accents, brick walls, and big windows give the space an airy, relaxed feel—perfect for a casual date night or post-work hang.
⸻
🌿 Sides & Extras
• Fries & Tots: Hand-cut fries, waffle fries, tots, and sweet potato fries—crispy and well-seasoned.
• Appetizers: Vegan cauliflower tenders, loaded fries, falafel, even Impossible tenders.
• Salads & Shakes: Hearty salads (like the signature tostada salad) and organic shakes round out the menu. ()
⸻
👥 Atmosphere & Service
The vibe is friendly and laid-back. One SLO local noted that service was “super friendly and attentive,” and that it’s usually easy to grab a seat—even on weekends.
⸻
✅ Final Verdict
Why it rocks:
• Stellar protein variety—classic, exotic, vegan
• Topping freedom meets creative combos
• Great beer selection in an open, inviting space
• Solid sides, shakes, and eco-conscious ethos (organic, peanut-free, gluten-free)
What to note:
• Exotic burgers can be pricier
• Buns (especially brioche) can be a tad dry—ask for vegan or gluten-free options
⸻
⭐ Rating
4.5 / 5 – Burger Village strikes an excellent balance between adventurous eats and comfort classics, all served in a welcoming, beer-friendly atmosphere. Whether you’re craving elk or an Impossible stack, there’s something to elevate your burger game.
Next time you’re in downtown SLO, pair your custom build with a cold craft brew—your tastebuds (and Insta feed) will thank you.
Gott’s has gluten free buns and a dedicated gluten free fryer (only at the Napa location-The St Helena location does not have a dedicated fryer).
The Texas Avocado Burger with a gf bun and garlic fries is my go-to! So good!
They also have vegetarian and vegan options too.
Excellent vegan fast food, many gluten-free options and a knowledgeable staff. Dedicated fryer for gluten-free food items for my celiac baddies. Gluten-free bun tastes gluten free, but that's what you get.
They are careful with allergies and have lots of gluten free options. They even have free gluten free cornbread to start your meal off once you let them know you have a gluten allergy
Was in Cupertino about a week ago, visiting from the east coast for a few days. My wife and I liked this place so much we stopped in twice. Seems silly for what is technically a local chain but I'd do it again on another trip. First time there I had the Pita Beef Kebab. Thought it was fantastic! Second time around we needed a lighter dinner so we split a the Saturday special they had for the Hummus lamb. We did that one on the Gluten Free pita which tasted just as good as any pita I've every had. Split the Malabi for desert and although I'm not a huge custard or pistachio fan, I found it rather enjoyable.
Really great place if you have a gluten allergy-- there's a dedicated fryer which is amazing. The food is all American so it's definitely good but not the best burger in the bay.
This is a good place for a quick burger or strips. It was fast and there are lots of tables to sit at.
My sister liked the gluten free burger and their chicken strips were yummy!
Staff were friendly.
Not the most pretty or stunning environment but it’s a restaurant and they nail the wings! Crispy but extremely tender. Everything is dairy and gluten free which is extremely impressive for the almost perfect chicken wings and sauce. Service is amazing and very friendly. Ghost pepper sauce was delicious if you end up coming here!
Milie’s Cafe has so many options, from vegan to regular and gluten-free! I ordered the Devil’s Mess and it was packed with bold, delicious flavors. My hubby got The Usual with gluten-free pancakes and they were 🔥. We also loved their fresh, homemade orange juice, and the Blue Majik latte was a refreshing and tasty surprise. Highly recommend for a flavorful and inclusive brunch spot!
Love this place! Long-time fan. Spontaneously pulled in when I saw it on El Camino, it was the second day it was open.
Delicious, tender chicken that's great in all forms - tenders, sandwiches, toppers on salads, etc. Their breading is gluten-free so we can eat here with friends and families who need GF. Staff is always nice, service is quick.
Starbird chicken is our family's new favorite food restaurant. This is the second location we have visited in the Bay area and they were both fantastic. As a gluten free family our kids love the gluten free chicken and the reasonably priced children's menu with the excellent choices of craft drinks. I love going because their chicken salad is the best fast food salad out there and I appreciate the healthier option. Highly recommend trying in person if you haven't already. The staff were extra friendly and helpful ❤️
It was my turn to pick where my girlfriend and I went for date night and because she can’t have gluten I searched gluten free and saw this place. I was so impressed with how they presented themselves online I took her here. We stayed downstairs and the vibe there was just wonderful and perfect. Our servers name was Randy who was by far the best server I have ever had in my life. We was super nice, really attentive and excellent all around. Now let’s talk about this food, my girlfriend and I ordered the wagyu beef meatballs For the appetizer and the entrées were the filet mignon and the steak fries. The food was cooked to absolute perfection. I we are eating we both were already talking about what we were going to have the next time we come here. Definitely the best of the best eating experience of my entire existence.
Really beautiful restaurant. The outside garden and view are awesome. The inside is warm and inviting. Great for a date or celebration. Food was impeccable. And they are great for gluten free options. We were there just after sunset. We will be back to enjoy a sunset view soon
This was our family’s favorite place for lunch in the parks. Plenty of options and we got the Low and Slow club standard and gluten-free option. I would have ate this every day for lunch if I had known it would have been best sandwich in park. Also highly recommend the chili mango margarita it was best cocktail our entire time in Anaheim. Several options for food for kids and refreshments for adults when things get stressful. This is a must stop eatery in Cars Land!!
I did not have any expectations coming into this restaurant, but little did I know that I was going to have a spectacular brunch at this fine place! Not only was the service amazing because of our server who was attentive and bubbly, but the food which was fantastic. I tried the hazelnut latte and Minted matcha iced latte which were both very delicious. The matcha had a subtle sweetness, tartness and was just so smooth and rich. Aside from the drinks, the appetizers were jaw dropping. The grilled cheese dippers was inexplicably delectable, there was so much flavor and the garlic aioli added such a beautiful essence to the dish. Grilled cheese done the right way! The pumpkin chai hotcakes were vegan and gluten free, tasted sweet and felt like autumn with each bite. It was a very enjoyable item and I highly recommend it if you enjoy a sweet treat. Lastly was the rustic wagyu steak sandwich. I was a bit weary about it since i'm not a big blue cheese person, but I was truly astonished by how much the flavors were enhanced by the sour taste of the cheese! It really turned out to be such a flavorful experience. I had such a great experience here and I would definitely suggest trying this place if you haven't already!
