This gluten free crust is amazing!!! It’s thin, but not crispy. There’s a chew to it that reminds me of regular crust. The server talked to me about how the staff wear gloves, prepare the pizzas in a separate area, and bake it in a pan so it doesn’t touch any flour in the oven. I will be going back the next time I’m in the area! Fantastic
We hosted a 45 person Rehearsal Dinner here, and have nothing but positive things to say about our experience. We thoroughly enjoyed working with Mike and Chef Trilby to organize the event and plan the menu. The food is SPECTACULAR. We love the cauliflower appetizer, short ribs, scallops, and plant-based entrees, and there's a gluten free vegan chocolate cake that is to die for!!!! My partner and I are dairy free, egg free, and gluten free, and we love dining here because we feel like we belong. The food is clearly labeled, there are multiple dishes we can choose from (apps, entrees, and even desserts!), and the wait staff is so incredibly friendly. We look forward to dining here every time we are in town. If you are in the area, you MUST dine here.
Blaze Pizza is my go-to place anytime I want a perfect pizza! They are best known for their terrific build-your-own, thin crust, 11" personal pan pizzas. (14", 8- slice pizzas are also available.) They offer an impressive variety of sauces and 35 different vegetable and meat toppings you can choose from **as your pizza is built in front of you.** (Several "standard" pizzas are also available from a signboard menu at the same price.) Flour and gluten-free cauliflower pizza crusts are available.
Pizzas are fast-fired in large ovens and ready in just minutes. (No longer waits ever.) When it is ready, your cook can top your pizza with arugula lettuce and pesto sauce, if you wish.
Blaze also offers simple salads, cheesy breads, and chocolate brownies and cookies for dessert.
Beverages include fresh brewed ice tea, homemade lemonade, bottled water & San Pellegrino, and Coca-Cola products. Many locations also offer canned beer and wine.
Blaze Pizza also accepts online orders to go or pick-up.
The establishment features an outdoor patio with misters; the staff were friendly and provided a wide selection of food, including gluten-free options. While my chile relleno was satisfactory, the rice and beef were dry. The beans were flavorful, and the fajita burrito was excellent. Although somewhat pricey, the generous portions of rice and beans compensated. I would consider dining there again.
I placed an online order and did an in-store pickup, which was really easy. The pizza was delicious and I was looking forward to my antipasto salad, but I made it back to my Airbnb and noticed that the Italian dressing was missing. It was an hour drive, so I wasn't able to turn around and go back. Everything was still really good! And ranch lovers, they have the good ranch!
I have a gluten intolerance (not allergic, just get not so fun symptoms) but I can tolerate sourdough. I was so excited to find a pizza place where I could get actual pizza instead of a thin gluten free pizza. I visited from out of state, but this will be one place I return to, just for the pizza!
They do have a vegan option, but it comes with a side of anti-vegan attitude. I came across this place while on a trip to the mall with the family. I asked the host if the veggie pasta was vegan, and he went to check with the kitchen. When he came back, his response was, “it should be.” I decided to still give this place a try and confirm with our waitress if they had any vegan options, and she responded that she “thought” the veggie pizza was. I asked more specifically if the crust had milk or eggs, and she replied that the gluten-free crust didn’t, but then proceeded to add with an attitude that they had so many more items on the menu. At first, I thought I had misunderstood it, but a family member also pointed that out as soon as she left. Once the pizza arrived, it had cheese on it. I’m still giving this place 3 stars as the waitress that brought the pizza was very quick to understand the mistake and have the pizza be replaced, and even went to the extent of bringing the label of the gluten-free crust to make sure it didn’t have milk or eggs. Also, the veggie pizza with the gluten-free crust tasted really good. The ambiance was upbeat with all the TVs streaming sports. But I wouldn’t recommend this place to vegans given my overall experience.
The food was just okay. The ambiance was overly dark, and the paper walls desperately need an update to freshen up the place. There were no fresh flowers, and the tables were uncomfortably close, making it easy to overhear neighboring conversations. While the music was beautiful, the song selection felt random and didn't align with the atmosphere, swinging between disco party and romantic dinner vibes.
In 2023, when most restaurants offer gluten-free, vegan, and dairy-free options, Mastros' menu remained surprisingly simple and lacked descriptions of the dishes. Additionally, there were no gluten-free bread options, and it seems that the mashed potatoes might have contained dairy, despite mentioning my dairy intolerance, which led to immediate bloating.
Regarding the service, it left much to be desired. After 30 minutes of dining with full plates, and no indication that we were ready to leave, two waitresses approached us separately within a 5-minute interval, asking if we needed boxes. It felt like they were rushing us out the door.
The waitstaff was overly talkative, making it difficult to understand their explanations, especially with the loud music in the background. Overall, the dining experience was disappointing, and I wouldn't recommend returning. If you want to enjoy Mastros, I'd suggest visiting their Las Vegas location instead.
P.S. I've noticed other disappointing reviews here, and it seems they don't pay much attention to them. They simply suggest sending another review to the link below, which doesn't seem to contribute to improving their food, service, and ambiance. This is especially concerning since a robot responds to all reviews with less than 3 stars.
Lunch diner where the Chef’s pride of ownership shines through. Shared the (gluten free) shortrib all day omelette with a side of fruit…DELICIOUS! Chef even plated it separately for us. Friendly staff and patrons. Great value!
Dinner was amazing!! The atmosphere reminds me of Paris and the shrimp crepe with a gluten free crepe was incredibly delicious!! Yum!! They even had a kid menu to color on with some easy activities too. Also had the Nutella and banana crepe for dessert with the gluten free crepe and that was tasty too. It wasn't nearly as amazing as the shrimp crepes, but maybe that's because the shrimp crepes were insanely good.
Great food. If you like turkey burgers this is the place.Gluten free bun option. Tempura green beans are excellent, so are the fries. The sides are really large so you can split them. We had 4 people at lunch. We split fries and green beans and there were some left. I've been going here for the last 16 years and always had great food. Service can be a little slow. It seems like only some of the staff are on their A game. Good service almost every time though.
Every single thing about my special birthday dinner at Mitch's on El Paseo was top-notch! My parents out of state sent flowers for the table and their experience in working with the folks at Mitch's was as enjoyable and smooth as our dinner was!
Emily was our server and there simply are not enough words to describe how her fantastic attention to detail made our dining experience the best we've had in years! She was attentive but not hovering, she knew the menu and wines well and was very helpful and knowledgeable about the gluten free options I needed for my food allergy. Her help in choosing a wine was so fun and easygoing while being very informed.
The food was amazing! Every one of us loved our meals. We came early and lingered and were never pressured to leave to turn over the table.
I had read so many reviews at different restaurants and there seemed to be so much inconsistency. It is very apparent that the leadership at Mitch's takes the time to not only train staff well but to treat them well. We'll be back and definitely telling friends in the Valley (and visitors from other states) about this gem!
Thanks Mitch's for a fabulous birthday dinner experience on your gorgeous patio! :)
Come and enjoy everything desserts are perfect. Everything is handmade here by a family. It’s two sisters and a mother. You should definitely come and enjoy their holiday spiced wine. You really can taste the love in the food. I come here all the time and I can’t believe I’m just now writing a review. I love their white balsamic coleslaw. All their desserts are amazing and I don’t typically eat dessert. They don’t do a lot of sugar and they almost do gluten-free I believe.
This was the top search result from Google when I searched for 'gluten free' and 'vegan'. My friend with Celiac Disease would not do well here – no gluten free bread. There were many items with garlic, and since I am garlic sensitive, I was forced to break my eczema prevention no wheat diet. We ordered BLTAs and I added cracked cheese (I expected a vegan cheese slice) but it was like mushed cream cheese which made my sandwich thick, soggy and messy to eat. I was very impressed with the tofu bacon, so we came back three more times. I tried the Coachella Forever and Mini Greens salada. The key lime dessert was apparently very delicious. They have fridges and freezers full of take-away items, and a pantry shelves full of Japanese flavours and I really want to take some home with me. I bought the mango lime dressing, but it started sweating after three days, so I ended up throwing most of the jar away. We bought a blueberry pie, by it wasn't like a real pie, so we threw half of that away as well. BLTA is the only item we like and we will come back for it, the levain sour dough was chewy and I enjoy the tofu bacon a lot. If they offered gluten free bread or even use Vietnamese rice wrap on the sandwiches for a gluten free option, we would have eaten here many more times.
Perfect night! My family gathered in Palm Springs over Memorial Day weekend to celebrate my husband’s/their Dad’s 70th birthday. We had four children with us (one celiac; one with nut allergy) so accommodating us was challenging, yet Anna did a beautiful job of helping each child choose a meal! All of our meals were delicious: my fillet Oscar was delectable; the regular fillet was perfectly medium-rare as ordered; two excellent ribeyes were enjoyed by my husband and son; our daughter’s single lobster tail was huge and great also. We were in a separate room, where the staff had placed the balloons my daughter had ordered in the corner (without even being told the balloons were coming). At the end of the meal, the staff gave us desserts that were flambéd! The children were delighted—as were we. Service at the level of Eddie V Is rare. We are so thankful for the help that the manager, the hostess McKenzie, and our amazing server Anna gave us (initially on Thursday night) and on Sunday at our party. These people made a family memory special! Thanks to the chef who makes each dinner a piece of art.
Breakfast was delicious. The service was excellent. Nakai, our server, was very friendly and provided excellent service. Eggs Benedict with gluten free English muffins available.
The service was good. The stars in my review are for the service and for accommodating my food restrictions. I just wish that I had been informed of just how much my dish would change. Perhaps the server could've made an informed recommendation. Instead of "we can make any dish gluten free". It was very plain in both presentation and ingredients. (no sauce, no prosciutto)
Food is well done diner food and totally enjoyable. Plenty of gluten free options for me to choose from. However, the atmosphere inside the restaurant is extremely dated and not in a charming way. Felt cramped and a bit grimy just based on old design choices and items not being replaced. I know this restaurant is nostalgic for many too so I get it. Would probably opt to sit outside if I were to come again.
Great service and delicious food. The #4 2 tacos handmade soft corn tortillas (carne asada or pollo asado) were perfect and a great option for gluten free folks. Highly recommend!
Dinner was great and gluten free options were labeled! The manager was super helpful when we ran into some hiccups. Would recommend this place to people visiting the area. Delicious!
FOR THE GLUTEN FREE PEOPLE
The traditional Wings and fries are technically "gluten free" but they are fried in the same oil than the boneless so just have that in mind if you're celiac or really sensitive to gluten. The ranch and some of the other sauces and seasonings are gluten free as well. Make sure to let them know if you have an allergy so they can change gloves and try to avoid cross contamination as much as possible
Went here this past week, can’t complain. Walked in to see a refreshing attitude and kindness with the hostess, whom led me to a nice booth. Server had great customer service. Food was Amazing. Love their appetizers and desserts. Definitely worth the money and will come back again soon. Not to forget to mention the amazing happy hour prices. They also have wheelchair accessibility, and gluten free/vegetarian options as well.
I didn't realize this restaurant was open to the public and when I found it in the neighborhood of Hwy-74 at the end of Ironwood street, I was thrilled. It has a very pleasant tropical ambiance, much different than other golf courses I've visited. The people were all having a great time with a familiar vibe throughout. And the food was AMAZING!! The chef even prepares gluten-free options for special dietary needs! I'd highly recommend the shrimp tacos, they were fantastic! And the Happy Hour menu is great, very reasonable prices and lasts everyday from 3-6. I will definitely be back with more friends. And the nighttime entertainment is great! We found a gem in the desert....
We thought this was a sushi place, more like benihana. So we asked to sit away in the lounge for a normal dinner. Sushi was fine. Yellowtail collar was solid. They gave me option of putting quail egg on top of ikura. Sake decently priced. Lots of kids, loud. Pricey for the quality. At least they had temari for gluten free. 3.5/5
