Have been here before and enjoyed the experience so thought we’d give it another go.
Smashed Avocado Bagel (with Salmon as an add-on) was generous and the salmon portion very generous. Bagel was very tough to cut with a knife though but maybe being gluten free had something to do with that? Very tasty though.
We also had the Poke Bowl which was underwhelming. Not the traditional bowl at all, as it was on a plate. No sign of coriander in the rice, no kewpie mayo, no crispy shallots and no sweet chilli (all were advertised on the menu). Pretty disappointing for $32.90 and our two meals and bottled juice made it an $80 lunch.
I ordered a Gluten free burger(allergy) and received a normal bun.
Rang and was offered a replacement or vouchers and opted for a replacement.
The replacement had aioli which our original order did not have, and the service by Lex was rude and she tried to charge for the replacement

It’s always difficult eating out when gluten free but there’s so many GF options!!! The girl working out the front really sold it to us! Platter was awesome but make sure to starve yourself before going as it’s a huge portion! Ha!
Came on 18th November 2023 for a birthday celebration, excellent service from initial phone booking to everything on the night, food was fantastic highly recommend the platters but for me the Vegetarian Pizza was absolutely delicious we thoroughly enjoyed our night here and thought it was good value for money. Great selection for our gluten free members of the group too, Thanks Fainting Goat for a great night😊
Great service tonight from our lovely server Ethan. Easily helped us with our gluten and soy allergies. Was a nice nostalgic time as we no longer have a Cobb and Co where we live.
Amazing food, great for gluten free!! coeliac and veggie travelling in new zealand and genuinely the most full and satisfied i've ever been. Bit expensive, but fully worth it. Not a lot of seating but takeaway also a great option!
Best food I’ve had while in NZ! Was super busy but food came in good time at all and was simply amazing! Absolutely recommend!
Good gluten free options too!
The food was delicious, the customer service excellent. Only downside - so many wonderful options to choose from. Excellent gluten-free options. Positive consumer experience thanks 😊
Walked in hopeful of a breakfast meal as am a diagnosed coeliac with a gluten allergy. The staff were most helpful and altered a meal to fit in with my requirements. Was it delicious? OMG yes and no after effects. My family also dined and all were very happy with their meals, not expensive and were delivered quickly to the table. I recommend Citron Cafe highly. The coffee is also excellent. 10/10.
Rocked up at 9pm for a late dinner and was greeted by very friendly and welcoming staff. I was given all of the options for my gluten free allergy and they double checked to ensure it was safe to eat. We received complimentary bubbles (I didn’t realise it was valentines day😅) Fantastic meal. Even leaving and paying the bill the staff had time for a chat and thanked us for coming. We definitely will be returning.
Delicious, freshly made wood-fired pizza. Lovely crispy base and loaded with topping. Lots of choice including gluten free options. Friendly, helpful staff.
I’ve been told about this place for a long time and finally came here. The food was so good. I have intolerances to soy, gluten - and they accommodated my order. And, even though these items are on the menu, I did not feel unwell, like at many other places. So I will be coming back here. Friendly and excellent food.
This is the best treat I’ve ever had. It tastes like Christmas new years and Valentine’s Day all on one bite.
I just got the worst GF pizza from the Koutu branch. The normal pizza is good, but the gluten free pizza is absolutely uneatable. GF is not a choice for everyone! 😞 If you can't prepare GF food don't say you can and then add extra charges and expect people to be happy with tast- less food 😡
Really enjoyed our dinner here tonight. The waiter was great in helping my wife with some changes to her meal as she is on a gluten free diet and has some other food intolerances.
My steak was cooked to perfection and the sauce was delicious.
Tonight table of 4.
1 gluten free. Which when asked the server what options, to his reply anything we can change the menu to suit. Food was beautiful. Personally I had the ostrich special..... divine!
Fantastic service, time between courses was perfect, drinks were never empty.
Highly recommend.
We will be back!
Yummy fusion if Latin American cuisine, tasty food full of flavor, many Gluten-free options. Sangria with a tocuh of sherry was exceptional, so was the staff. Friendly and welcoming atmosphere. I recommend trying their home made jalapeno sauces too. Thanks Sabroso!
Really lovely spot for dinner. I brought my family here last night - we have three vegetarians, a vegan AND someone with gluten allergy, and Lovely India catered to all of us beautifully. Our server was very knowledgeable and attentive, all the dishes were absolutely delicious and the prices were fantastic. 10/10 we will definitely be back
Eastwood has been a favourite in thenpast(great location good coffee and gluten free options) this time coffee was below average and not much choice on food for gluten intolerant
Very good option for Gluten Free.
Coeliac’s will be okay here as I was not sick at all.
Staff are very well presented and so nice to talk too. Restaurant is very clean n tidy with very relaxed atmosphere.
Food was outstanding and very good portion sizes.
We will definitely be back for more
Sadly thus place let me down, on the menu it says several items are Gluten Free, I'm Coeliac so need this to be true sadly it isn't, when I went to order they told me everything is cooked in the same oil etc, I was extremely angry, IF IT'S NOT GLUTEN FREE DON'T ADVERTISE IT AS SO ! Only call it GF when it actually is !!!! Learn about this please !!!
First time visiting and surprisingly great food. Chips have seasoning 👍 . Burgers are very tasty. Even gluten free options for buns and chicken tenders. Definitely worth a visit
As a coeliac it’s the only place I trust to handle my food in the whole of Rotorua. I received a blood test back stating low levels of the immune response associated with coeliac, after eating sushi from here regularly. This means their kitchen is super clean, they care about avoiding cross contamination and is a safe place for a strict gluten free diet
10/10 experience!! So great to have a gluten free fish batter option for us gastrointestinally challenged folks. Everything was fresh, hot and the side salad was a lovely accompaniment, staff were super welcoming and the array of dips was an added bonus (adobo mayo and smoked garlic mayo) were tassssty! We will be back☺️
Tried 3 times to contact before posting this review but since noone wanted to call me back, here I am. I ordered 2 gluten free pizzas (at an additonal $4 per pizza) equating to an overall order of just under $80. When I got home (I live 45 mins out of town) and opened the box, I realised we had been, what I can only assume, given childrens pizzas instead of family size. I tried to call and speak to someone, I was told "gluten free is smaller and also doesnt look pretty so thats why". These Pizzas were $30 each and were less than half the size of their regular pizzas. When i tried to explain this to the person on the phone, I was brushed off and told the manager would call me. Noone has since called me. I also emailed twice (with pictures) noone has responded.
We have been to Giovanni's a number of times and have never experienced such awful service, we are familiar with the regular size of their pizzas and were shocked that, you pay extra for gluten free bases to receive half a normal order.... A simple courtesy call back would have been sufficient to resolve the matter, but service doesn't seem to be that important to Giovanni's anymore.
Very impressed with the food and service. Chicken was very tender and generous portion size, not small. Freshly cooked crispy chips. We had the $49.95 whole chicken dinner platter for 2 last Friday which supposedly comes with 2 Large Sides as per bill board outside. But the salad was served in 2 Medium bowls instead. Very accommodating for Coeliac too -allowed Pita bread to be swapped for any other Side at No extra charge. The same waitress who took our order, cooked and served our meal was very friendly & attentive. Also enjoyed the large colorful paintings and lighting decor ✨️

We really enjoyed our evening at The Brook. Keith was a wonderful host, very knowledgeable about food and wine. There was an excellent selection of gluten /dairy free options on menu, which was so refreshing. All the food we had was absolutely delicious! Compliments to the chefs 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻We would love to dine again.. very happy we found such a great restaurant in Rotorua.
