Visited from out of town and as someone who is gluten free, I’ve never had so many options! Everything was delicious (for being gluten free haha) and I had a good experience. Wendy was our server and was not only super kind but also very patient with me and my questions and super willing to accommodate for me. I haven’t had French toast in literal years! Everything was great and if I’m ever in town again, I will definitely be coming back!
Remodeled the store, now everything is 30-50% more expensive.
Not as worth it, anymore, especially now that Walmart is carrying popular gluten-free brands...
I usually go to the DiTazza off of Padden. I go there on Sundays and also early mornings before work. I absolutely love the staff, the gluten free options and the coffee is really good! Hats off to this cafe and their staff. Will continue to go there often.
Thatcher’s Coffee is such a great spot to work from—plenty of space, a calm and welcoming atmosphere, and the vibes are immaculate. It strikes that perfect balance between cozy and modern.
One of my favorite things about this place is how many gluten-free options they offer. It makes grabbing a snack or meal so much easier (and tastier!) without having to stress. Between the great coffee, the friendly staff, and the relaxing environment, this place has definitely become one of my go-to work cafés.
Cute coffee place with delicious coffee. I enjoyed it on the patio, it was much quieter. Loved their gluten and dairy free sweet treats that they had to offer.
I've been going here a few years now, but they've been very inconsistent lately. If you order any food the wait time is going to be a minimum of 15 to 45 minutes. I wish that were an exaggeration, but sadly it's not.
I've ordered the exact same sandwich and drink the last four times I've been here, but there's been something different about my order every time.
I no longer feel safe coming here, since I don't know if I'm going to receive a gluten-free sandwich or not or if my drink is going to contain dairy or not, even though I order it with almond milk. Even putting that aside, the quality has been inconsistent. I've had some amazing mochas here, but the one I got today was so bad I couldn't even finish it.
I hope they can figure out their quality issues.
Wow on ambiance both inside and outside. Inside has vibe of more of the older house cafes you’d find in Portland. Love it! Outside feels like a garden patio. Great summertime dog friendly patio. They have a walk up window outside so you don’t have to worry about what to do with your pup while you order! Now for the quality of drinks and snacks, 5 stars across the board. My husband ordered the salted caramel mocha and he said it was scrumptious. It was served in a large ceramic mug, and I ordered a honey chai. That was absolutely delicious. We also ordered two snacks. The gluten-free peanut butter bar would never have guessed it was gluten-free because it was just soooo good. The salted caramel treat was also delectable. The only reason it’s four star is because the customer service was more like a two star experience. I would say being generous because everything else was completely on point otherwise this would be the most perfect café in Vancouver. For some reason the server was just generally grouchy, and a few of us tried to make her smile, but she was just determined to be unhappy apparently. She was working by herself and maybe was feeling a bit, overwhelmed at the end of a long day. We can’t wait to come back.
Had a lovely brunch. I had a memory of them having more gluten free offerings in the past, though. I'm not sure if that's a mixed memory or a menu shift. I'd love to see more gluten free breakfast options than omelets again in future but it was very tasty.
When I saw the difference in size between the excellent grilled cheese sandwich that I had and the excellent although gluten free sandwich my potential business partner had I didn’t know whether I was on some YouTube prank show or whether I had fallen into the wrong side of a telescope.
How do you sit across from someone you are treating to something special and it looks like it comes out of a joke box? You have my sandwich, and then the mini me sandwich! It would have been even more embarrassing if it hadn’t looked so ridiculous as to have been funny. She mentioned the place down the street gives two because the loaves are so much smaller.
Well I have to say, it’s a bad look.
The Chai was good, but it was just lukewarm. I suppose I could have gone back inside and asked to have it warmed up, but first impressions count.
And my impression here is that they’re hip and they’re downtown and that’s enough.
Stop and look at what you’re doing. Make that chai hot. Make those portions equal.
Go the extra mile.
So here is my edit and response…
Thank you for responding to my review, although it kind of goes to prove my point.
Regarding the chai… One does not sit down and gulp ones chai all at one go. So making it warm is kind of pointless. I don’t rush to my table and drink it all at once. I want to sit and savor it. By the time I got that to the table. It was just warm by the time I’ve had a few sips. It was lukewarm, no one likes lukewarm chai. By the time I had talked to my friend for a few minutes it was cold, and cold chai is disgusting. I learned to make chai from a North African governess in 1973 and have been making it ever since.
One does not sit down and gulp their beverage boiling hot, but rather waits for it to reach the proper temperature. Exactly like any fine tea.
And concerning the ridiculous size difference of the gluten free bread.
Instead of saying you get that it looks stupid but that’s the choice you make, you could say you hear the customer and are continuing to seek a better answer. But what you do is just say, we’re great.
But that plate is still an embarrassment for someone taking out a prospective business partner and doesn’t reflect well on your business. Whatever your reason is.
I recently visited Presso Cafe and was impressed by their accommodation for gluten-free options. As someone with a gluten allergy, I ordered the gluten-free salmon sandwich, and since the bread slices were smaller, they generously served two sandwiches. The sandwiches were delicious, with the pickled onions perfectly pulling all the flavors together. The coffee was good, though I wish they offered more options for sugar-free syrups. The service was great—the ladies working there were very welcoming and friendly. Overall, a lovely experience, and I’ll definitely be returning!
We engaged Foode to provide lunch in the beautiful VIC for a day-long seminar held for 90 senior citizens. We got nothing but compliments about the beverage service and lunchboxes of either salads or sandwiches with chips, plus cookies for dessert. In fact, one attendee who thought I was connected to the catering asked whether I could give him the recipe for the cookie he ate!
The portions were generous and my sandwich was both nutritious and delicious! We were easily accommodated with vegetarian, vegan, & gluten-free options to meet all the needs of our participants. I highly recommend Foode for your luncheon catering needs!
Such great food and incredible service. Especially when catering for corporate scenarios. Staff is so very helpful and accommodating. Gluten free and vegan friendly options make ordering easy! Food is delivered within promised time window.
