Fave gluten free bakery in Kits. The turkey & cheese croissant is a favorite. Alongside their paninis and sweet baked goods. I enjoy stopping here for takeout to bring to the beach for a morning breakfast or late lunch.
Wonderful food and service. They accommodated our son's peanut and tree nut allergies with ease and were so kind about it, which doesn't always happen. Such a cute vibe and location. Would come again and recommend especially to allergy families (also very gluten friendly)!
This place was great! As someone with celiac disease, it was so nice to know everything was 100% gluten free, and my non celiac fiance loved the bowl he got too.
I had the regular size porchetta with honey mustard, rice pilaf and garden salad and it was delicious and the perfect portion. Will 100% go back next time I am in the city!
But do note, there is no bathroom so make sure to not wait until you get to the restaurant like I did, assuming there would be one lol.
Really nice place to relax with a few drinks. Didn't have any food as we had just come from a café but we did get a flight and oh my god. I need to go back to get more if that blueberry basil. Until I do it will stay in my dreams, Highly recommend checking it out. They had indoor outdoor seating.
Their menu had things marked as Gluten Free although since we didn't order im not sure if they have a designated fryer or not.
Thankyou for the wonderful service staff, you were all so nice 😊
Delicious vegetarian menu including several signature concoctions and several dishes which are also gluten free, or vegan or vegan option. Every food dish is healthy here. At least everything here is served with healthy intent. I only say this because they do serve beer and wine also.
Celebrating a senior's birthday, 4 of us agreed to Indian Oven for our first contact with them. The reservation process was easy and I could leave notice that one of us had Celiac Disease. I also emailed to see if they had gluten free options. They responded to say they had many dishes that were gluten free, or could be made gluten free easily. We decided to go and are very glad we did! The chef owner himself came out to talk directly to me about my food options, assisting the four of us to order a variety of foods almost all of which were gluten free! They ordered naan (very fluffy) while I ordered the gluten free roti right off the menu. The chef was knowledgeable about food restrictions, and all the staff were very good about keeping the gluten food away from the gluten free! We ordered 4 gluten free share plates (Lamb Rogan Josh, Chicken Tikka Masala, Aloo Gobi plus the Indian Oven Grill, a mixed share plate with Fish Tikka and Prawns, tandoori chicken and chicken tikka, seekh kebab that was wonderful for the other three; I was served the chicken tikka separate from this plate. Veg Jalfrezi rounded out our meal, coupled with a very good plain rice. We also had a litre of wine to share at reasonable cost. All in, we agreed that we must return and enjoy other dishes - for the menu is extensive. No better review than that!
A great breakfast or brunch spot with a lot of Americana and Canadiana on every inch of the walls!
I really enjoy their Eggs Rancheros or Eggs Mexicana. Try their in-house hot sauce with your food (which you can also buy).
For you gluten free people, you can sub in gluten free toast for an extra charge and it's actually better than the regular toast!
Didn’t understand what all the hype was about this place until a friend and I went…. Wow great quality food, so delicious! My friend loved the gluten free pasta!
Will definitely come back!
What a fabulous brunch on the patio! Our group of five ordered the mimosa tower which was enough for each of us to have 2-3 drinks. Everyone was very happy with the food, my steak and eggs were incredible. I think these potatoes are the best I’ve ever had.
We had members of our party who were vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free and there was something for everyone.
The one sidenote would be to skip the $4 side of grilled avocado as it was just one single thin slice so that wasn’t worth the cost.
I have attempted to eat here twice now in the last 4 months.
First attempt: came in 40 mins before close to get three slices to-go. The lady behind the counter was already counting the cash and slammed down the money in her had and was very outwardly frustrated at me wanting something. Left immediately.
Second attempt: I come in mid day and there’s only three types of pie, and one ended up mis-labeled, so two (gluten free). I still decided to get one slice from them and asked for it to be heated and add whipped cream “we’re out of whipped cream” in a pie shop???? Then I asked for a cup of tea, and when I go to pay it’s over $18 for one small slice of pie and one cup of tea. I asked if a mistake had been made. The server stated the tea is $6. This is just earl grey, it’s not a fancy frothed milk concoction. $6!? Then the pie is obviously $13 for a small slice. I said I didn’t want either anymore.
I ended up going down the road a little to Breka and having such a lovely piece of gf mouse cake with a very fancy drink and taking 3 donuts home for my husband. All 5 products came out to the same price as a piece of pie and a plain cup of tea! Highly recommend going to Breka instead!
Nicer service going this time than a few years ago on the regular as a neighbor! Bathroom was cleaner and atmosphere is still charming. Lots of latte choices, beetroot, chai & matcha all well done and great gluten-free cakes too, especially the red velvet cookie.
I will start by saying this is some of the best Mexican food in Vancouver. Each dish was packed full of flavour with generous portions...but the service...was terrible.
I'm not sure if it was the staff on the particular Friday night we went but, I've never experienced such terrible service.
The staff were friendly but ridiculously slow and forgetful.
It started with when we arrived. We were left standing at the door for 5 minutes while the door staff pottered around doing seemingly nothing, fixing lights and what not. The place had multiple empty tables too, we still had to wait in the cold to be seated.
The women who took our order started to take it, once we listed out appys she just turned around and walked away...said absolutely nothing and didn't come back. It took 5 minutes to flag down someone to take the rest of our order.
We thought it was random misunderstanding and enjoyed our appetizers. But it took 55 minutes from us finishing our appetizers to get the main course, and when we got it, we needed to request cutlery twice.
During that almost hour, our glasses were regularly empty, and it was difficult to flag staff down to request a refill, and once we did, it took even longer to get the next glass.
I usually wouldn't complain about something like this only for the place was half empty, the staff stood in the hallway to the kitchen chatting and it wasn't just one staffer, it was multiple bad interactions.
We paid almost $150 for food and drinks and only for the food was that good I'd be leaving 1 star.
Please speak with and train your staff, your food is too good to have such poor service.
I really want to come back and try more, if there is guaranteed better service, especially because almost everything on the menu is gluten free which is rare in Vancouver.
A great place for sweet treats and coffee/tea. There's a good selection of baked goodies - cookies, bars, cakes, breads and scones for all occasions. It was worth the drive after reading the reviews.
Food: 5/5 - we tried the brownie (gluten free) and blackberry lemon bar. Our favourite was the brownie. Both were tasty and fresh. If you need a cake for a special occasion, they have whole cakes and loaves available. The prices were reasonable considering it was good quality. They had a couple of samplings near the cash register.
Atmosphere: 5/5 - seating is available with a nice vibe to the place
Service: 5/5 - servers were friendly.
I'll be back to try their other tasty treats.
Three of us waited about an hour in the cold to get inside. I love the vibe inside, I got a good but not outstanding gluten-free meal, service was good but I’m jot sure the whole experience is worth the hour wait outside
Great Canadian restaurant. Fabulous and friendly service. Absolutely wonderful waiter. Great meal served with great courtesy, no better place. Gluten friendly too.
Got a sandwich here for lunch. Food was great, decor and atmosphere are nice if a bit quirky. They offer gluten-free bread for sandwiches which I enjoyed!
Both times I visited there was no one at the counter when I arrived which was a bit awkward. The second time I waited for a while and then ended up leaving because no one arrived.
The staff at W. BROADWAY consistently screw up orders that endanger people with celiac health allergies. What’s the point of offering gluten free buns when almost every single time we order gluten free, we almost always get buns with gluten that make my partner unwell?! This is a MAJOR health concern for someone who is seriously celiac and accidentally eats gluten due to Tera staff’s carelessness. Not only can they not eat the food, but we just wasted a good amount of money only for them to go hungry.
Not only that, but when we walked in to pick up our order tonight, the person behind the counter was on her phone and didn’t even turn around until I cleared my throat.
Two stars for good menu, minus two stars for consistently screwing up the gluten-free orders, minus one star for slow and poor service.
There was pistachio cheesecake and the sign said “gluten free” (it was the only item that stated it was GF) We asked the employee if it was gluten free and he said “I don’t know”
I needed a gluten free option in a pinch and the staff was very accommodating to my dietary restrictions. They have gluten free buns with they toasted on the grill, not in the toaster, to avoid cross contamination. The frier at this location isn’t gluten free.
Nice atmosphere and location. But my partner is coeliac. And they were not very accommodating. When ordering food, said they could meet allergy requirements. But then when food was being served, they informed half of the dish was not gluten free. And substitutes were inadequate. Was still charged full price and extra for gluten free bread with no apology from staff, which would have been nice. So if coeliac, would not currently recommend until further improvements are implemented.
Checked with the host before seating that they’d be able to accommodate gluten free at brunch. Discovered later that they had no gluten free bread and all potato is cooked in a gluten contaminated fryer. Disappointing that they couldn’t accommodate, had to eat elsewhere.
Delicious food, great service, interesting atmosphere and fantastic prices.
I had the gluten free BLT 🥪 it came with fries and salad for under $16, it was such a good portion that I had two meals out of it!
The place was such a vibe! Staff was super friendly. I believe there was a staff or maybe the owner (?) whose name was Ranu and I’d love to give a huge shout out to her and the team. They were so kind and super helpful! The food was soooooo delicious. And on top of that, the beef stew was gluten & dairy free, it was so delicious 🥹❤️ definitely try it out folks!!
This was our first visit to "Don at Kitsilano".
They'd run out a few of the gluten free items on the menu, but I was able to find substitutes.
The food was wonderful! We all enjoyed our meals.
I had beef tartare as a starter, and beef cheeks for the main. Both dishes were fabulous!!
If you want to be sure of a table, make a reservation.
As a party of 4, we were very glad we had reserved a few days before our visit.
We are already planning our next visit!
Thank you so much everyone.
Great convenient parking spot by Whole Foods. Friendly service. Big portions. Entire menu is vegan with lots of gluten free options. Thank you Chickpea, keep it up!
It's true folks - the perfect restaurant does exist. They recently opened for dinner service and every aspect of my evening was divine. To my delight dish our group ordered could be done gluten free with the best GF bread I've ever had. On top of it all, very reasonably priced, especially given the quality of the food. Highly recommend!
DON’T EAT HERE IF YOU HAVE ALLERGIES OF ANY KIND!!!
Nor the kitchen or the staff where educated with what celiac is….
I went in and asked if their lamb burger was gluten free and expressed that I am celiac…
The wait staff said yes absolutely.
So we sat down, ordered drinks, and were about to order. I didn’t see really any gluten free options on their menu. So I asked the server to just double check with the kitchen that the patty is gluten free and celiac friendly.
When that came back they said yup it’s totally fine for me to eat just has the smallest bit of bread crumbs in it to hold it together but that I should be fine…
Thank goodness I asked a third time.
Being celiac and having allergies is no laughing matter. Ignorance can kill someone in these situations or affect them for weeks on in.
That night I got to watch my partner eat and I got nothing because they said they have nothing to offer me. I cannot believe how un-accommodating they where in todays day and age of how common allergies like this are. We were on our way to catch a flight and did not have time to leave and go else wear because the staff was slow to get to us.
I would NOT recommend coming here if you have any allergies. They will not be taken seriously or accommodated.
Best pizza ever &. All options available with best services . Gluten free is also available . With smart owner & ownership. Must try & yes will definitely come again 👍👍👍👏👏👏
