Teacher Highlight: Meet Jordan Page--Financially Fit and Fabulous! Posted on 28 Jan 16:00
Jordan Page lives up to the fun part of her Fun Cheap or Free handle. When I asked her what she does for fun, she immediately replied “I entertain a lot.” Pause. “What does that look like,” I wondered. Again, without hesitating, "I have a lot of dance parties in my kitchen." In that instant, I had an itch to join the Dance Dance Revolution. Who doesn't love a budgeter extraordinaire who can groove?
Here’s a brief biological sketch of our newest atly instructor Jordan Page—you’ll be glad you got to know her.Jordan grew up in The Dalles, Oregon, a tiny town as cute and awkward as its name. Her resume reveals that she studied recreational therapy and worked with at-risk youth before becoming a stay-at-home mom. She learned thriftiness at a young age from her frugal mother. She relished finding a bargain, big time. Once married, Jordan found that necessity (also the mother of frugality) required her to use her bargaining skills to survive dreaded credit card debt. She and her husband went to extremes to incorporate their new mantra: We’re gonna live like no one will the next 5 years, so we can live like no one can for the rest of our lives. And that’s exactly what they did. Jordan believes that lean living taught her that simplicity brings happiness. She also learned that while it’s great to find bargain, the secret to fiscal success has more to do with living by financial fundamentals. Her epiphany was the beginning of fun cheap or free.
Jordan has been featured on TLC’s Extreme Cheapskates and is a bonafide expert when it comes to budgeting well. She is dedicated to her 3 darling children, her husband named Bubba, and a dog called Ollie. She packs a lot into her day. She’s inspiring to be quite honest. She’s certainly up for the challenge of helping students get financially fit in her Frugality Boot Camp class on atly!
