We’ve eaten a few times at your place since moving to the area, food has been great every single time. I’ll cut to the chase. My partner is celiac. It would appear one of your staffs comprehension of the English language is not satisfactory enough to understand this. She took our order, peanut soup was ordered, we clearly stated no bread please on the side. When the soup arrived, bread was on the plate and the server has absolutely no idea what the issue was and didn’t know what to do. I removed the bread from my partners plate and told her it’s ok now and that I will eat the bread as I’m not celiac, she attempted to take away my plate, I again said it’s ok leave the bread I’ll eat it. The server then lifted my plate and took it away. We then ordered pizza, one gluten free and one ordinary pizza. The same server as before came over to our table, laid down the pizza she was holding and announced it was gluten free!!! 30 seconds later, a tall blonde lady server comes over and announces that the pizza she is holding is gluten free! Summary, your server around 5ft with long black hair simply should not be taking orders for people with food allergies, it’s my observation that her grasp of English isn’t of a good enough standard. I did email however received no reply from 3 weeks ago.

So I walk in and the staff sees me and asks with an attitude can she help me, like I had gotten on her last nerve by walking in. Everyone is entitled to a bad day, I was having a not so great one myself. I am seated in a weird booth where another couple is facing me, like it is our own private VIP section. I also am not in the line of the cameras. I ignore the gut check. I am learning not to do that by what followed... A different server comes over. I tell her I need a minute to order. I make my selection she comes back bringing me water. I also ask for an orange juice, a tuna melt on gluten free bread, and am told they have gluten free pancakes, though not on the menu, so I get an order of that with hash. GF Pancakes: Real syrup too. Nice and fluffy. Verdict: EAT THIS. Tuna Melt: Sad and flavorless. I needed the calories, so I still ate it. The coleslaw was nice though, and still crunchy that came with it. I had to spit out my pickle though. Verdict: SKIP Corn beef hash: My first bite was lovely. The second was like a salt lick from hell. I didn't eat anymore and asked them to refund it. I almost swear my plate was swapped out because it got cold super quickly too. Did they mix old stuff with new and that is why it was super salty? Since I literally only had two bites they refunded this, which I appreciated. Verdict: MAKE SURE IT IS MAFE FRESH. Okay. Orange Juice: WAS NOT ORANGE JUICE. I don't know what the hell it was but it had a similar color though milky looking. Sent this back as well for a refund. Verdict: SKIP. Verdict: EAT AT YOUR OWN RISK. One dish out of 3 was good. Not great odds.

It’s a go to place for me in Watertown for years now. They have gluten free options, very tasty and the staff are good with ensuring there is no cross contamination. If you ask, they have a gluten free bread that they can bring with olive oil as a pre-starter and that bread is fantastic. They recently updated their menu and now all the gf options are marked on the same menu. The atmosphere is also quite cozy and at the same time with the large windows they have, it’s airy. It has always been pleasant to dine there.

When you need a weekend morning breakfast before 10am and you want to sit outside and there need to be sole gluten free options... Uncommon Grounds has got you covered. The menu is exciting and the food was pretty good.

We enjoyed a late dinner at City Works for the first time the other night and weren't disappointed. We did not have a dinner reservation, but since it was later on a Friday, we were seated immediately. The interior boasts plenty of seating, and during the nicer weather, there is an outdoor patio section, too. After renovations to the original buildings, you can see the steel frame ceiling of the brick building plus a faux ceiling for the restaurant. The typical industrial chic with numerous televisions is standard, but they do have a large wall with the current drink menu for easy decision-making. There is plenty of parking at Arsenal Yards, plus it's right on the bus line. It's easily accessible along Route 20 from the Greater Boston Area or west-bound from Brighton. Although there are "gluten sensitive" items on the menu, they do not have a dedicated deep fryer, and there's always a risk of cross contamination. They do offer gluten-free pasta and buns, but sadly, they only have flour tortillas for their tacos. I ordered the Cajun linguine (with gluten-free pene), and it was outstanding. Their Buffalo chicken dip is also a stand out on the menu. I recommend visiting City Works for any casual occasion for good drinks and food.
