We had dined here regularly until about five year ago when they had made a MAJOR mistake regarding my gluten free order - my side of broccoli came out with spaghetti noodles in the bottom of the bowl and upon inquiry, they had use the same water or strainer or something for both the spaghetti and the broccoli. However, it's been long enough that we decided to give them another try. Not sad that we did. It was great! Even better than we remembered! We had the ribeye and the filet. The filet was a little overcooked (no pink despite being ordered medium rare), but still great texture and taste. The ribeye was great all around. Both steaks were also excellent representatives of their respective cuts (which can easily make or break a steak). Both were amazing. The risotto side was excellent as was the soup, though I don't recall what kind it was (I wasn't the one who ate it 🤷‍♂️). They had two gluten free desserts - the all-too-common chocolate flour less cake thing. We did not try that. But they also had a gluten free banana foster cheesecake. This was wonderful! Neither of us care greatly for banana, but I wanted to try it anyway. To our delight, we didn't taste banana but rather caramel, which we both love. All in all, left extremely satisfied and very glad we gave them another chance. Will be returning. I should probably mention we also had some drinks while there. They were great, as well. Old fashioneds and a couple of their seasonals drinks.

My family has been going to Aurelio’s since Joe Aurelio opened his first restaurant on Ridge Rd in Homewood. When I was a kid I remember Joe Aurelio sitting at our table and asking how our meal was. This was when they moved the restaurant to Van Drunen Ford’s body shop. I took my family out tonight to the Bourbonnais store for my mom’s birthday. The restaurant was understaffed we waited over an hour for our pizza’s. We ordered 2 fiesta pizza’s and a gluten free pizza. My wife has a gluten allergy. When the pizza’s came out we received the 2 fiesta’s and no gluten free pizza after about 5 minutes I got up walked back and asked the manager about the gluten free pizza which they looked in the computer at our order and there was no gluten free pizza on the order. Our entire table agreed my wife had put the order in. So my wife sat there and watched us all eat as she waited on her pizza which we were assured was just put in the oven and would be out in about 10 minutes after about 20-25 minutes I went back again and they were “getting ready to take the pizza out” we had been there about an hour and 25 minutes at this point. We told the manger to box the pizza up and we will take it to go at this point. The manager said the gluten free pizza was on them and that it was about a 15 dollar value. I tried to explain to the manager I would have happily paid for the pizza if my wife could have eaten with us. To which she responded again how it was a 15 dollar value. I told her if you are going to stand there and just tell me you are taking 15 dollars off our bill you aren’t understanding my point. When we got home my wife opened up to find the pizza uncut. I hope this isn’t what I should expect as a norm at the Bourbonnais Aurelio’s and if the owners happen across this I’d love to speak with them about our experience tonight.

Went here for “teacher appreciation”. My mom has a gluten allergy and was told last week by a manager that they would accommodate her. So today we went in to order our food. Told them we were teachers and showed our ids. Mind you we were getting two free teacher meals and we were going to buy three more meals. My mom said I need that to be gluten free. The cashier seemed to think that wasn’t allowed so she got the owner who happened to be there. He refused to accommodate her, he said I’m sorry but that is not the free item we’re offering. He had a very standoffish and rude attitude. I told him you can do better than sorry. Your customer service sucks and you lost three meals worth of sales for refusing to be accommodating and show a teacher appreciation.
