Going to Cafe Colucci always puts me in a good mood! The space is delightful and has such a great energy about it. You can feel it as soon as you walk in. During the day, the big windows let in lots of light and it is so lovely. At night, there is always a great vibe with lots of people enjoying a fun night out. I've been coming to Cafe Colucci for years, and the food is consistently delicious, super fresh, and must have a secret ingredient (maybe love?) because it always makes everyone so happy. I'm vegetarian and my favorite dishes are the vegan sampler and the mushroom tibs. I'm told by my omnivorous friends that the meat dishes are also incredibly delicious. I also appreciate that they offer as an option the traditional teff injera, which is gluten free. My friends and I went there for lunch today, and Olive took such great care of us! She made us feel right at home and was so patient and kind with our various requests and modifications. It was great to see Daniel as well (one of the owners I believe, and/or manager), who always has a warm and welcoming smile. This is most definitely my favorite Ethiopian restaurant, and one of my happy places in general!

Stopped by on our way back to the city after a day in the East Bay. We ordered the Aloo Gobi on gluten free crust -- when we took our first bite, my husband and I simultaneously said "oh no..." as in, "oh no, we will regularly risk traffic and pay the bridge toll to pick up this pizza again" because it is THAT GOOD. What this place may lack in ambiance it makes up for in incredible, nuanced flavors and delicious gluten-free crust that's somehow both crispy and chewy. We are already making up excuses to be back to Oakland so we can order again...only wish we lived closer! :)

Get the gluten free bread- being GF it is hard to find solid gluten free bread, and this is one of the best I’ve ever had!

My boyfriend is gluten/dairy free and we came here based on good ratings from the Find Me GF app. While he couldn’t have the donuts, we were mainly after brunch and the tofu scrambles were delicious! He had the Pepples scramble with avocado, and I had the Pesto scramble. Both come served with hash browns and sourdough toast, so we just left out the toast for him. I usually don’t love tofu but this dish was absolutely delicious! We are from out of town but will definitely stop back here if we’re in the area again 😄
