My wife and I were visiting Southwold and fancied a bit of lunch. We passed many promising looking eateries but didn't see anything suitable as we are both gluten intolerant. At the end of town, we happened across Jakery Bakery and were pleasantly surprised to see that everything they offered was gluten-free. It is a small place and we had the dog with us but there was a table outside where we could sit. I was going to have a toastie, but greed got the better of me, so I ordered that plus a cheese scone and a sausage roll! All were excellent, as was the service from the very welcoming staff, and we both left with full bellies. We'll definitely be back if we ever find ourselves in Southwold again.
This bakery stands out for its plentiful gluten-free options, featuring refined, patisserie-style cakes that delight with unique flavors like coconut, lime, and passion fruit. The excellent gluten-free cakes and breads offer a fresh, beautifully flavoured experience, making it a lovely spot for gluten-free indulgence amid a cosy, inviting setting.

We come here regularly for scones and tea, have been for twenty years, but I just wanted to write a review in particular for our afternoon tea we had a couple of weeks ago. The service and presentation were lovely, and their gluten free cream tea is really excellent (sometimes the gluten free scones are a bit tough, sometimes they’re soft and fluffy). The personnel were very good with our requests, and we enjoyed our afternoon tea on the plush green couches in the living room. Thank you!

Friendly staff enhance the experience by attentively catering to individual preferences, making it a go-to destination for non-coeliac gluten-free diners seeking both comfort and flavor.

A great place to go for Gluten- Free fish and chips - one of the few places in Suffolk that do them.
Except that as from Apr 2025 they no longer offer them! A wasted journey and a big disappointment.

If you like beer then you can’t really visit Southwold without a visit to one of the many Adnams outlets in town. The main store has pretty much everything including a well priced cafe. Staff are always helpful and they had Gluten Free bread and Soya milk for my wife.
