I was so excited to find a Chinese takeaway that does gluten free food, I thought I’d lost chicken balls forever 😁. Gf options are (comparatively) vast, and really really good. Non Gf options also great (I’m told). Standard size portions, tasted fresh, was still hot, and delivered 20 minutes earlier than estimated. It is a bit more expensive than some, but completely worth it. Thank you! Oh and the chicken balls were probably better than all the glutened ones I’ve had 🎉

Came in for a family meal with seven of us dining. One member of the party was Coeliac, and so we had to request a dietary menu which proved to be incorrect. We all had starters and mains, and the Coeliac options didn’t arrive, so they had to go without until dinner. Our food was absolutely brilliant, and the starters were particularly generous - except for the potato skins which looked literally like skin and a sprinkle of cheese without any potato whatsoever. The best part was definitely the chocolate fudge cake, which was so moreish but we couldn’t finish it. Overall a good experience, but improvements definitely needed.

If you have a severe allergy then may be best to steer clear of Frankie’s at Basildon Festival Leisure. I informed the waitress I had coeliac and she informed me anything with the GF symbol on the menu is suitable. I ordered bacon and cheese potato skins to start followed by the pepperoni pizza, both of which had the GF symbol next to it. Our food came out quickly, there were no stickers or flags or anything that indicated the food was gluten free so I checked with both the boy who gave us our food and our waitress, both of which assured me it was gluten free. After eating about half of the pizza I started to feel unwell to which I then had to go to the toilets to be sick. I asked the waitress again if the food was definitely gluten free to which she replied yes, my friend then saw her speaking to the chef and pointing over. We quickly paid the bill and left, I was sick again and unable to drive home due to feeling faint. I spent the following day in bed feeling extremely unwell. Couldn’t fault the service as our waitress was attentive and friendly, food was quick but I will not be returning.

Quiet when we went, but a nice place, decent food and friendly staff. The fact you've got a huge Gluten Free menu (And the food actually tastes good!) is a real winner for us.
