3 words: exquisite, Elegant, freakingdelicious!!!!
Mine and my wife’s second time visiting Scotland and we have chosen to for the second time to come and dine and try their Italian buffet since they could cater for a person with coeliac disease and my goodness.
Let me put it this way, if you are coeliac this is a must. The puppy eyes in my wife were like a child in a Lego shop. Unforgettable!!!!
I love it and this is the place that we will always visit when in Scotland.
Very welcoming staff upon arrival before opening (takeaway starts at 8, cafe actually opens at 9). Gluten free options are very limited if your actually coeliac. Menu is deceiving, as most items cannot be prepared in a gluten free environment and they are unwilling to be flexible if you’re comfortable with that. E.g. no separate toaster - that’s an easy fix. The cardboard-tasting packaged bread is quite frankly a poor effort at accommodating dietary requirements.
Booked a table for an evening meal based on a recommendation and it was great. The food and drink choices suited us all, there's a great selection of burgers and pizzas. They also have dietary information available, and have gluten free and vegan options clearly labelled on the menu. The team working here are very friendly and welcoming. It's also dog friendly.
We had a really nice lunch at Mambos and we're impressed by the number of vegan options, I was even surprised to see vegan mac n cheese as not many places tend to offer that. Sadly I had just had that the nught before for my dinner so decided to go with another choice. I went for the hot dog and was presented with a huge hotdog with a decent portion of chips to accompany it. Hotdog was very nice however I think (didn't confirm) it was a gluten free roll which slightly let down the overall taste of it. I know that it's easier to cater for several dietary requirements in one meal so I am pleased they are considering everyone but was just my personal preference.
The staff were extremely friendly and we had a lovely overall experience and would definitely be back 😊
A mixed review. The baked salmon and chilli nachos were absolutely delicious and highly recommended. The chicken curry was awful, it was like boiled chicken in a very mild tomato sauce. No hint of curry powder and no doubt straight out of a cheap catering tin. Chef should be embarrassed to serve this.
Staff are very friendly and helpful.
Dog friendly.
Gluten free options available.
We do recommend eating here as long as you avoid the awful curry.
Only stopped in for the bar, but was delighted to discover gluten free Caesar Augustus on tap.
GF beers on tap are becoming more and more common, but still rare in the...
Got over charged, the fish was so dry, it was like a jerky, and the batter was so soft, it was like biting an oil filled sponge, the chips were hit and miss as to whether they were very soft, undercooked, or crisps. We went here because it was a gluten free take away, but it's definitely not somewhere I'd recommend. Incredibly disappointing meal. The oiliness make you feel a bit nauseous, so I'd definitely recommend some gaviscon or peptac for afterwards. 🤢
