Great food, service, and atmosphere especially with the live music and being in lively downtown San Juan Capistrano. Everyone loved their food except the tacos were just okay. They had a few gluten free options. The atmosphere is geared towards adults with a big bar and loud music. It might be more kid friendly at lunchtime.
This is the cutest little place! We recently moved to the area from Minnesota and are enthralled by Pizza Amore. It's close enough that we ride our bikes there. In the 4.5 weeks we've lived here, we've been here four times; that's how good it is!
My husband has a gluten intolerance and I do not. We often share, even though I sometimes would like all the glutteny goodness of a regular pizza crust. But here? I'm perfectly happy to have the gluten-free crust. If I didn't know it was gluten-free, I'd never know the difference.
The ambience is beyond cute, with bookshelves and a faux fireplace and twinkle lights everywhere. Management is great, service has always been excellent, and food is fantastic!
It’s *really* pretty. Everything about it, the food, the ambiance the view to the street. And the service is some of the best I’ve had, genuinely charming and attentive to our needs, quite able to advise on the tea menu. Their gluten free options, meanwhile, are excellent.
Only trouble is the that the food, while quite elegant, doesn’t taste all that good. The sandwiches are mostly kind of boring, and the macaroons were so sweet I spat into my empty teacup rather than swallow the concoction. The soup was pretty good, but more “tasty” than delicious. We both got the $48 high tea, the name of which eludes me, so maybe other dishes taste better, but my guess is that the overall experience is so good that they’re busy enough not to care much their food is mediocre.
I love The Stand! From the staff, to the food, it’s A+! I came here with my family after a Christmas event, and it was the perfect ending to a great day. I love the complementary pickles and all the great food options, including vegetarian and gluten free. And the brownies are to DIE for!
This is pure Texas style bbq and the brisket is fantastic. The brisket beans, slaw, and queso should be gluten free but I'd check with the restaurant first as I didn't have those.
All the meats besides the sausage are gluten free and gave me no reaction.
Love Rancho Capistrano Winery!! Food is delicious. Good gluten-free options. Outdoor patio is nicely done with wood beams overhead and plants. Nice wines to choose from. Highly recommend!
They have three sorts of gluten free quiche. I had the vegetarian quiche and it was very good! Tasted a lot better than your average gluten free dish :)
Restaurant Review: Authentic Brazilian Flavors and Incredible Dining Experience
To start, we had gluten-free popcorn chicken, which was a pleasant surprise. Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, it was seasoned to perfection and an excellent choice for anyone with dietary restrictions.
The highlight of the meal was the Picanha. Cooked to perfection, this classic Brazilian cut of beef was tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor. The accompanying sauces complemented the dish beautifully, adding layers of texture and taste.
Finally, we tried the Shrimp Bobo, a creamy and hearty dish that combined shrimp with cassava and coconut milk. The blend of flavors was extraordinary, and the dish had a comforting, home-cooked feel that left us thoroughly satisfied.
The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with friendly staff who were knowledgeable about the menu and happy to accommodate dietary needs. If you’re looking for authentic Brazilian cuisine with something for everyone, this restaurant is a must-visit!
Great sandwiches, and spots to sit outside, which makes it a perfect a pit stop on a bike ride. I also loved that there was a gluten free baguette for my partner who has celiac disease.
I cannot recommend Limoncello enough. Giovanni and his staff were amazing and treated us like family. I contacted him to place a huge catering order for a high school cross country team in town from Colorado needing a pre-race meal. Giovanni made recommendations and was able to accommodate dairy and gluten allergies. The parents and team praised the meal as being the most delicious travel meal we have ever had. The baked pasta, Tirimisu and salad were all beyond delicious and there was enough food for second helpings AND the team’s lunch the following day. Giovanni was kind, welcoming and eager to help us all have a wonderful authentic Italian pre-race meal. Definitely recommend 10/10. We will certainly order again next year!
Glad to share that I had a super positive experience dining at Tannins despite my many food allergies (gluten, garlic, dairy, etc)!
Before attending a group luncheon, I stopped by to talk with the manager to see whether they would be able to accommodate my allergies at all. To my surprise, they were taking time to discuss possibilities and alternatives for me. I ended up selecting their lunch special which was a chicken breast with a large variety of vegetables; the meal was both amazing and healthy!
Big kudos to Leo, Manager, who was very kind to work with me and even notified our server about my food needs!
The entire experience at Tannins was very good with attentive wait staff, fast service and friendly staff!
Unfortunately, I am unable to comment on their typical Italian menu items as I am allergic to gluten!
Our group was having lunch on the patio which was a nice atmosphere.
I made a reservation 2 weeks in advance for 7 people. We were 20 minutes late, the staff were pleasant and waited for us to arrive although our table was already prepared. My family ordered a few different appetizers and entrees. Everything was delicious and came out on time. Abraham was a very attentive server and was helpful to all of my family's request. The portions were great size, plenty of left overs. We will be back! This restaurant is gluten-free, vegan and vegetarian friendly.
Delicious food amazing service! We were here for our grandfather’s 90th birthday with a large group of people in the staff took care of us like we were family making our grandfathers birthday even that more special. There’s so many delicious options. I would recommend the Mar Y Tierra which are filet mignon field enchiladas with a cream sauce and two Mexican prawns. They have many delicious soups, the rack of lamb is one of the best in Orange County and if you just feel like some drinks, they have a flight of margaritas and the best chips and salsa around. All the tacos are great, but we like the taco Del Mar which are mahi-mahi. They do have vegetarian options and gluten-free and dairy free friendly.
Thank you again for taking care of our family. We will be back soon.
Excellent service! 7 of us plus a baby came in. We left full and happy! Service was awesome and my husband (who has celiac) was able to eat here! They were able to accommodate his gluten free diet!
