Posting for others who have a gluten intolerance! They have several options to choose from, I visited June 7 2024. For baked goods there was a gf brownie w/ pecans, peanut butter caramel tart, passionfruit raspberry coconut tart, coconut chiffon cake. I went with the passionfruit tart , it was light and yummy! My son (he does not have gluten intolerance) had the coconut chiffon cake which is nice and light too. When I say light, I mean that it's not too sweet with overloads of sugaryness. We opted not to eat there before we went bc I wasn't sure of what my options would be, but after looking at the menu there is 1 option, chicken vegetable soup. They also have whipped yogurt with house made jam and granola. I had no side effects after eating my tart or taste of cake. For those with celiac you may want to steer clear bc they mainly make and serve things with gluten. I will definitely go here again to try another treat next time!
I have never had a single item that wasn’t absolutely delicious from Fox & Fawn, plus everything is vegan and you’d never know! I’ve been eating their delicacies since they first opened and are my go to anytime I need a sweet treat.
I recently had to go on MANY dietary restrictions due to my health and finding gluten free vegan options that actually taste good is a bigger challenge than you might think. The staff is always so kind, knowledgeable, and patient- they answered all my questions without batting and eye and never once made me feel rushed or like I was inconveniencing them.
I am so happy to have somewhere I can get something delicious without worrying about if it’ll upset my stomach later! Treat yourself to F&F- you won’t regret it!
We have been going to Dianna's for years. We moved to the area back in 2014, and found out in 2017 that my husband was celiac.
Dianna makes all her cakes, cookies, breads and pastries with loving care, and makes many items gluten free, which is such a treat for my husband.
Her sandwiches and coffee are good too, and she usually has homemade GF bread in reserve to make a quick GF sandwich for those requiring it.
Like any "local store", product availability varies. Some days my husband can get GF Banana Bread or Carrot Cake. Other times, those aren't available but GF Zucchini Bread and Red velvet cake are. It's actually a nice surprise.
I suspect Dianna's was hit hard by Covid, and I know she's mostly a one-man show now, which must be a lot of work. But she does a good job of cranking out the goodies and serving them up well.
If you're in the area, especially if you are celiac, I highly recommend giving Dianna's a try for lunch or coffee/tea and baked goods!
If you are a celiac or a gluten-intolerant do not eat here. They make the pizzas in the same station and use the same sauce that the normal pizza's ladle had been used in.
If you're a diet fadder, go ahead. Enjoy yourself.
THE BEST RESTAURANT IN BENICIA HANDS DOWN! There’s something for everyone (gluten free, vegan, vegetarian, carnivore, etc). So many good flavors! My favorite restaurant by far!!!
Mostly a take out place, they have a small dining area. Very basic work place decor. The staff is very friendly and efficient and the pizzas are excellent.
They have gluten free pizza dough as an option - maybe the first in the area which says something about their quality and concern for customers. Reasonable prices - a good place. Good experience.
Tried this place for the first time tonight. Not sure why it took me so long. I was happy to see that they offer gluten free items on their menu. Cute place and friendly staff.
Great service here and such a friendly staff. Food is perfect and huge serving sizes so you can have take home if you can't finish it all. They will work with you if you are Vegan or have gluten free allergies. Not bad on prices at all. Worth the money.
Nations is a bit odd at first blush. They sit somewhere between a fast casual sit-down and a Diner. They offer a lettuce wrap for a gluten free option, but this is not a place that has the space for dedicated GF workspace. The quality is very good for the price. They do have a lot of pies, but nothing that I have tried personally. Still, it's a pretty good place to grab a bite.
