Popped in for lunch, great selection of options for gluten free, friendly and attentive service. The food was spot on, will be returning on my next visit no doubt.
A truly special birthday thanks to The Cornish Deli
I was looking for a place with gluten-free food on my birthday. The first place I visited ignored me completely, and I left feeling disappointed and unwelcome.
Then I walked into The Cornish Deli — and everything changed. The cozy interior, with its traditional Cornish charm, immediately lifted my spirits. It felt warm, authentic, and inviting.
There was only one person behind the bar, and I want to say a heartfelt thank you to him. He greeted us with genuine kindness and made us feel so welcome. Thanks to him, my birthday turned around completely.
My gluten-free crab sandwich was absolutely amazing — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The seasoned fries and delicious drink made it even more perfect.
I couldn’t have wished for a better place to spend my birthday. Thank you so much to the man behind the bar — your warmth and care truly made my day.
An excellent alternative to a classic burger shop. The menu doesn't have the largest selection, but there are very interesting things on it. There are also gluten-free versions. The gluten-free chicken wings are particularly excellent. Rarely have I had such a good and crispy breading. Lots of gluten-free beers to go with it.
On a day trip by coach, I didn't have much time to wander around looking for somewhere for lunch, as I have Coeliac disease and need to eat Gluten Free, so I looked at Google reviews and found this gem. Lovely, friendly staff, great food and a can do attitude. I had a fabulous GF Cornish Crab sandwich, crisps and a Frappé. Perfect. Thanks guys. Great lunch. 😀
Great food, great coffee and loved the matcha too (I've been back a few times!) Alternative milks, vegan and gluten free options, picnic boxes for the beach, great cakes, wraps and more! Great service and staff too! Highly recommend. ❤️ Eat in or take away.
Lynn & Ellie were very accommodating and lovely members of staff! The food was lovely and again very accommodating for gluten free, one of the few fish and chips shops that offer it in the area.
A great tasting menu including the classic Beef Sunday Roast with all the trimmings. Today was our third visit, and each time it has been an absolute favourite of ours. At £38 per head, it is great value for money. They also cater for gluten free diets.
A visit to St Ives is not complete without a treat from Jus Desserts. Great quality ice cream and so many flavours to choose from. The staff are always very polite and efficient. Highly recommended. They even have gluten free.
While exploring St. Ives Harbour, after a Googling for sea food place, we stumbled upon a hidden gem: Porthminster Kitchen. This charming restaurant, though not immediately noticeable, offers a delightful culinary experience.
The restaurant's interior is modern with a beautiful designed old wood frammed fireplace that creates a relaxed dining atmosphere.
However, the entrance to the second floor dining area could be better marked to attract more guests.
Food:
The menu at Porthminster Kitchen features a creative and diverse selection of dishes. We started with the Korean Fried Cauliflower and a custom salad, both beautifully presented and bursting with flavor.
For our mains, we had the Roasted Hake Fillet and the Whole Cornish Sole, which were cooked to perfection and showcased the freshness of the ingredients.
To finish, the Crispy Rice Pudin with Coconut Sorbet was a delightful and refreshing dessert, particularly appealing to vegan and gluten-free diners.
Service:
The service was attentive and friendly, adding to the overall enjoyable experience. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and made recommendations based on our preferences.
We highly recommend!! Yummy 😋🤤
Had a really lovely meal here with my family. All three of the dishes and desserts we ordered were delicious and drinks were superb too. Staff were super helpful and friendly! Just wanted to leave a note for fellow gluten-free folk that they can do their pizzas on a gluten free pizza base but it’s an extra £2 charge. Also the pizzas are all cooked in the same oven so not so good for coeliac but perfectly great for me!
Very pleasant evening sharing some delicious food. Nice corner table so we could chat. Really nice white wine but I can't remember what it was called .
They accommodated gluten and dairy free. Delicious coconut yoghurt
We didn’t stay at the hotel, so I can’t speak to that but we did eat at the restaurant and it was fantastic. They combine a lot of different flavors that work well together. Creative. Fresh. Beautiful location. I did feel like I was in the TV series Poldark eating here. They did have gluten-free options and delicious gluten-free bread. This was suggested by a friend who had her wedding meal here. Great place. The desserts were creative and delicious.
My wife and I discovered these good people a couple of years ago. Ridiculously good cakes. My wife particularly likes their gluten free options. My weakness is their carrot cake. Insanely delicious and a big, generous slice to boot......really big!
Please review your options for gluten free diners! After many years of wanting to visit, I called to ask about gluten free options for brunch and was told (by a coeliac member of staff no less!) that most of the options were very "bready" and they didn't even offer gluten free bread! I said they could just buy some in from a supermarket and he answered that they'd have to throw it away due to lack of demand. I suggested they could freeze it and use as needed but he said they wouldn't do that!
I'm so disappointed and won't be visiting. This is not a review to cause trouble, this is an appeal to reconsider how you might welcome the HUGE (and growing) number of people who can't eat gluten.
When so many small independents and large chains are managing to do it and doing it well, this is incredibly frustrating from a such a reputable and well-established eaterie. Please do better.
Had a great meal here last night. In a party of nine we had one vegetarian, one vegetarian plus gluten free, and one small person (under three years old). All were catered for without problem and the food and drinks were great - one person said it was the second-best pizza he'd ever eaten. We weren't rushed but at the same time the service was prompt. If we return to St Ives, we'll definitely be coming here again.
Amazing food, best meal I’ve eaten in a long time. 100% would recommend to others 👌 gluten and dairy free needs were also catered for perfectly 👌
Thank you for an amazing meal 😊
Nice ice cream shop. Lots of choice available. Including clear indication of gluten free options available. Not many vegan options of ice-cream available. No gluten free cones, however can obviously have the ice-cream in a tub. The portion of icecream is smaller then other shops in the area. However the flavour of ice-cream I was told by my children was nice. Same price as other shops in the area
What an experience! We had two platters, sharing boards, for four people. Each of the numerous platters is from a different area of Italy. They were delicious. They were very helpful with my dietary restrictions also. And the flourless gluten-free chocolate cake was 10 out of 10. A wonderful, delicious unique meal. If we return to the area, we will definitely go back.
Lovely atmosphere, relaxed and authentic tapas and Mediterranean inspired cuisine. Worth trying the tapas dishes with family or friends. Staff clued up on allergens and specifically gluten free dining for a coeliac 👏🙌💯
This was my partner's and mine second Michelin experience and first structured one. The view during the day is pretty incredible, the path there very cool too if you are on foot too. The food was pretty amazing, accommodating for me as a coeliac, which I really appreciate. I don't want to spoil what the experience includes, so I am not going to go into detail. I think my partner and I felt very impressed with the complexity of favors and of course the presentation is pretty amazing. My many congratulations to the kitchen staff, and the servers and front desk professionals were some of the friendliest and most helpful people I have ever met, thank you all so much, you made our experience and trip very special and I feel incredibly grateful.
A great pop in to the Beach Cafe. Two cream teas and a savoury, a bit of a complicated gluten free request. All very yummy and very nicely presented. Our waitress Lauren couldn’t have been more helpful, cheery and great at her job! She was buzzing all over the place and so friendly and efficient with everyone. She remembered a couple, when they were ordering, from the previous year, made their day! Such service and attitude adds so much when eating out. Wish we’d come here earlier. 👍👍

A top notch experience in every way. Imaginative and diverse menu, food beautifully presented, and the taste sensation matched how it looked (which all too often isn't the case...!). We had the wine pairing which was also good and matched perfectly the various courses. The gluten free requirements of my wife were dealt with perfectly and with no hassle at all, which always makes dining together a much more enjoyable experience for both of us. Well done One Fish Street, a great experience at reasonable prices.
