The atmosphere here was contemporary chic as well as cozy with the low lighting. The only reason I rated it lower was because the seating was in between the bar and a small hallway, to the front of the restaurant which made our table a high traffic area (it was a Thursday night with reservation) Oysters (5/5): Biggest oysters I’ve seen in Ottawa for $3.50 a piece! Steak Frites (3/5): quite a thick piece of steak that was great overall. I found the knife dull and wish I had more of the Demi glace. White 6 Pizza (4/5): Made gluten free!

We had a fabulous meal at the Pelican! Spot on recommendations, gluten free menu items, lovely atmosphere and fantastic service. Our group enjoyed fish and chips (panko and beer battered), salmon, haddock, mussels, and shrimp. Flavourful and beautifully presented. We will be back.
