I’m gluten free, dairy free, and have a red meat allergy so entering a pizza place I have very low expectations. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality and variety of the chicken wings. I chose the Thai spiced wings and enjoyed them thoroughly. I was with a basketball team that put down a wide variety of pizzas. The only knock on Mellow Mushroom has always been its glacially slow service. I don’t know if they understaff the waitstaff, the kitchen or both, but if you are looking for a fast meal this is not your place. If you can be mellow and enjoy the conversation at your table the food is worth the wait.

What we ordered: Fried Chicken Salad Fried Green Tomatoes Plain Fried Chicken Sandwich (Added Bacon) Crinkle Cut Fries ------- When planning an airport pickup in the Richmond, VA area I turned to my handy dandy @Find Me Gluten Free App as always as I'm a gluten-free diner. They do offer gluten containing food. Orders are placed at a kiosk, you MUST choose gf so be careful you're ordering correct and be vocal about your eating restrictions. Staff was understanding and I had zero reactions. Would love to see this process made easier to ensure gf made completely correct and away from other gluten items. We will absolutely return when in the area again.

Wonderful food. Lots of options including vegetarian, meat, gluten free and a clear easy to read menu. Lovely indoor and outdoor dining. Very clean and convenient to shopping. I will definitely be back.

This place is amazing. When we arrived, we were quite overwhelmed that there was a wait. But, they took our cell number and we called inside seated within 10 mins of arrival. So, good first impression. Then, we read the menu and had a difficult time deciding. The waitress was very helpful and honest about the options. They have gluten free choices at no additional cost. And, they have heart healthy options. My wife raved over the biscuits and gravy... I think she was impressed that the biscuit tasted like it was made from scratch. A big bonus to me was the uniqueness of everything. Although it was breakfast and brunch and lunch, they had their own signature. Definitely going back and highly recommend 10 out of 10! Oh, and they are hiring. What a great work life balance to arrive at 6:30 or 7:00 in the morning and be done with work at 2:30 or 3pm. BTW, there was no rush for us to finish exactly at 2:30. In fact, we left at 2:45 and there were still people sitting at the tables laughing and enjoying the ambience. The staff was friendly and did not mind our extended stay... And, they have an outdoor seating area
