My husband and I went for the first time today after seeing that they had gluten free options. The cashier was knowledgeable about what was available with my allergy which was great. As everyone else has already mentioned, the food takes a long time even though there were only two other patrons inside.
What I found intolerable was the lack of cleanliness. The front two doors were sticky and covered in fingerprints and handprints as was all of the interior glass. The wall behind the self serve drink station had so many splatters that did not look recent and the counter top was covered in spills and crumbs. We picked the table that looked the cleanest and it still had a sticky residue. Ypu can actual smell the lack of cleanliness when you enter the breezeway. The bathroom seemed clean but was out of soap.
We liked our sandwiches and I appreciated the allergy awareness but we will not be eating there again.
I eat GLUTEN FREE and am very impressed with this location. They take the time to do it right. The employee who fixed my salad today changed his gloves and then followed my salad all the way down the line to the end. So appreciative.
What a great experience! I have celiac disease and I am super sensitive, so when my husband took my daughter and I to Evermore, I wasn’t sure how safe the food would be. We made reservations at Vanders Keep and I put in the notes that I am super gluten free. When we arrived, the hostess seated us, then said “wait, let’s move you over here to Dan, I read the gluten free part on your reservation and Dan can take care of you. “ Then Dan was our waiter, and his entire family aside from him has celiac disease. He was super understanding of how sensitive it can be for people with celiac disease and how dangerous it can be when we have gluten and he was extremely careful with my order, made sure to relay it all to the cooks and guaranteed that my meal was super safe for me. The cooks were top notch as well, and prepared my food carefully. I didn’t have a single issue and I feel fantastic. Not only that, but the food was absolutely amazing, the food is all prepared fresh and it makes a huge difference in the way it tastes and the way you feel after you eat it. I would recommend Vanders Keep to anybody looking for an incredible meal with a perfect atmosphere and excellent and knowledgeable staff.
My favorite pho place & the only place I go for pho now! Delicious pho & spring rolls, they always make my food "gluten free" safe! Lately the limes and herbs have been old or slimy, hopefully they'll fix that soon!
My wife is gluten intolerant. I am not. It can be hard to find food that we both can eat and both actually like. We finally found something at Oliver’s Place! If I didn’t know beforehand that the chicken tenders were gluten free, I never would’ve been able to guess. They tasted just as good as any standard chicken tenders in the area. Had option for regular fries or sweet potato fries. Both were excellent! Highly recommend this place whether you’re gluten sensitive or not!
My only notes for improvement: the wait time between ordering and receiving our food was so long you’d think they were slaughtering the chicken in real time back there. Very limited seating during peak hours. They charge for extra dipping sauces.
