I would not recommend this place for allergies, especially for people with celiacs. Unfortunately, places like this are the most dangerous for people with food allergies. The menu is marked and seems inclusive, but the staff I interacted with was not aware and did not care or take note when I asked about gluten free options and said that I have a gluten allergy. The person working didn’t know what I was talking about when I asked if the fries are fried in a shared fryer and was annoyed when I asked if she could check. She left and didn’t come back with a clear answer so, I played it as safe as possible and my food still came out carelessly on bread. I brought it to the counter and they brought it right back out without the bread. No communication. At that point I started noticed the lipstick on marks on my water cup and the jars of shared condiments where anyone can dip whatever utensils they want into it (including contaminated knives spreading on bread and back). I was grossed out. I have celiacs. These details matter. I know how to navigate menus and how to respectfully advocate for the bare minimum. It’s not clean and it’s not safe.

Julia's is fantastic! The staff are very attentive. Went there tonight. Had the BBQ sliders, arepas (highly recommend), as well as apple goat cheese salad. My partner went for brunch a few weeks ago with some friends from upstate and had a fabulous time. One of the nice things is there are a lot of gluten-free/vegan options as well as a variety of mocktails for those who don't imbibe.

Celiac-friendly; cozy ambiance; outside seating; great food. Had the quarter chicken w/ yellow rice. Enjoyed the corn chips & homemade salsa too. Definitely will go again.

Over a half dozen times eating there and Gluen-free safe. Gluten free & regular food tastes great - I put it above shake shack with more of a homemade/southern taste. Recommended.

I’ve heard lots about Salty Lunch Lady since coming to the area, I didn’t except the counter area to be so nicely spaced out with room for a Creams*cle Layer Cake slice, drip cup of Williamsburg’s roasted Young Coffee, and a Squash Me sandwich which was nicely balanced savory and sweet from the squash and cheese, on a ciabatta bun sourced from Balthazar. Other bread sources include Sullivan St. Bakery and a gluten free vendor. I felt lucky there was time to speak with founder and chef Dria Atencio who came out briefly. It was great to speak with her and hear some of what they have planned coming up like expanding their grocery section. Dria highlighted some chili crisp from a local maker recently stocked. The dining experience was super delightful with unique plates served to every customer, and hanging lamps sourced from apparently Yugoslavia countries. Even the wooden stool had some hand painted fruit flares and design. All service is counter so be sure to hear your name called from the kitchen. I need to come back for the Pandan Coconut Cream Pie, which you can preorder among everything else, form their website.
